The Great Erectus being slightly less of a dick.

A massive gout of orange flame shot from a cave entrance high in the Dragonspire, high above the Celestial Realm.
βYeah,β a voice echoed from the cave, βI use supernovae as mouthwash. That ainβt going to do shit.β
The reply was a booming angry roar and another blast of flame, brighter and hotter.
βDamn,β the voice echoed, βThat was pretty good, but check this out!β
A tremendous blue-white blast shot forth filling the entire cave mouth, instantly liquefying the walls causing molten lava to pour out.
^βroarβ
βYeah, I thought so. Now carry your ass outsideβ¦ Do I look like a fucking porter? I ainβt carrying shitβ¦ Well thatβs not my problemβ¦ Oh? Not leaving without it?β¦ Well I guess I could put in your prison pocket for youβ¦ Whatβs a prison pocket? Let me enlighten you. Hold stillβ¦What? You donβt need it after all? Great! Move.β
Moments later, a titanic dragon emerged sheepishly from the cave and hid behind the faintly glowing deer woman, whispering urgently in her ear.
βIβm sorry, sweetie,β she crooned, stroking its nose, βBut we really have to goβ¦ He tried to stick what where?β
She looked up accusingly at the bathrobe clad Homo Erectus ambling out of the cave pausing to push his foot into some lava, leaving a print.
βJust what is it with you and bottoms?β she demanded.
βPhysics.β
βHow does your sorcery apply to this nonsense?β
βItβs not βsorceryβ. Itβs one of the universal natural laws,β the ape-man chuckled. βEverything seeks its lowest energy state, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, and if someone is being difficult, threaten to shove something up their ass. If they seem into it, show them something bigger. Itβs the universal motivator. Itβs simple physics.β
βI think it's awfully rude!β
βWell,β the hominid said strolling up to her, βhas it failed thus far?β
ββ¦ no...β
βSee?β the hominid replied, βuniversal motivatorβ¦ Physics!β
βIs that the last one?β the ape-man asked as βFaunβ comforted the rather shaken dragon.
βYes,β she sighed as her dappled cape magically extended covering the gigantic beast and then retracting leaving no trace of the ancient wyrm.
βWhat?β
βItβs justβ¦β she sighed, tears welling in her eyes, βThere were just so m

I really like the idea of identifying stereotypes based on the heister that people play. Was wondering if others had stereotypes that they applied to other heisters (for fun of course). I personally have mine, so if you'd rather not read those and just post yours, just ignore the rest of the body text. Also please don't get too mad about the stereotypes especially Wick and Sydney mains. I ain't insulting you personally, this is just the crowd you tend to be associated with, kinda sucks I know.
(Disclaimer: These are just stereotypes, they're broad generalizations based off my time playing the game that are absolutely not meant to be taken seriously. If your heister has a negative stereotype, that doesn't mean that you are necessarily that stereotype.)
Dallas: Either a newbie who will most likely switch to a different heister once they find out how, or a cheater. If they're not either they're most likely mid tier in terms of skill. There's also the chance with every one of the original 4 heisters that you get some veteran who's been playing the game forever at this point, it doesn't mean that they're actually good though. They most likely crushed during old OD but can't be bothered to play the new Death Sentence, now they just stick to stomping Death Wish pubs.
Chains: A true neutral, not much you can tell. They might a new heister playing for "GET THE FUCK UP" or the pickle meme, they might be playing because they're the aforementioned veteran who only plays one of the original 4, they might be playing because they like Chains as a character. You really can't tell with Chains mains, but they'll most likely be pretty chill.
Hoxton: They're a quite a few stereotypes for people who play Hoxton, but the two connecting threads for all of them is that people who play Hoxton REALLY like Hoxton, and they will spam F at a Houston player whenever they get the chance. On average they're quite dickish, but they usually have a good sense of humor about them and range mid to high tier skill wise. If they're a new player they're probably not completely clueless, with the caveat being they think they're a lot better than they actually are because they watched one b33croft video and suddenly know everything about the game. Hoxton players have the highest chance of being an original 4 heister veteran, but are less chill than other types. Lastly, Hoxton tends to be a pretty common pick for thirsty girls and or bi/gays.
Wolf: Probably one of

Fang led the way, rushing through the ruined streets in a manner that suggested that he was very well familiar with the terrain that could one day be their endless battlefield. Exaltβs advantage was that they had thoroughly scouted and studied the maps of Rakab when they hunted the One-Eyed King. No other clan or alliance, currently, had as current and extensive knowledge of the area as Exalt did. With how the buildings crumbled, on an almost daily basis, blocking roads or changing the topology of the city, older maps were not exactly worthless, but they were not ideal either. For those who wanted to battle at the peak of their abilities, complete and thorough information was a requirement, not a bonus. Not that Exalt could be considered a top clan or anything of the sort.
Eventually, the group made it to a smaller square in the southwest of Rakab. It was the merchant quarter of the city, and it looked the part. Even ruined, it still resembled buildings that the wealthier people lived in with architecture that was distinctly different from the rest of the city.
In the square stood a man with black hair and black eyes. He wore a black coat with a silver coat of arms in the shape of a sword pointed downwards, and beneath the coat, sparse silver armor glimmered in the sun.
The man was surrounded by five individuals and a corpse lay at the manβs feet. The man held a sheathed sword in his left hand, and stood casually, completely open and defenseless, while those who surrounded him had their weapons bared.
Fang came to a stop and the rest of the group did as well. After a moment, Estella stepped forward, reaching for her sword, but Fang stopped her.
Estella looked at Fang, gaze asking the question she did not speak.
βObserve,β Fang said coldly. βMaybe even you can learn something from that maniac.β
As if sensing he was being spoken of the black-haired man glanced towards Fang, and then slowly turned towards him. Even though dozens of meters separated them, his voice carried easily in the silence of Rakab, tone hard, yet somehow yielding and soft. βIs this my welcome, Fang?β
Arenβs eyes widened as he recognized the person. He had s

I tried not to go for too many obvious ones, and obviously taste is subjective but hopefully there are some interesting suggestions here for all sorts of horror fans.
Ghosts:
Seance (rental): Β a group of girls in college investigate the death of a friend after performing a ritual to summon the schoolβs resident ghost.
Impossible horror (rental) : 2 women search for the source of a mysterious scream. Kinda quirky and fun.
32 Malasana (Shudder): ghost story set in a Madrid apartment. Makes good use of a creepy old building.
His House (Netflix): a refugee couple receives a house that seems to be haunted.
Halloween Party (Tubi): you have 60 seconds to respond to a prompt with what you're truly afraid of or it comes to get you. Way more fun than the name suggests.
We Go On (Shudder): a man seeks proof of the afterlife, and predictably he finds it. There's a really great moment in this I loved.
Night of Horror: Nightmare Radio (Tubi, Vudu): a late night call in radio program is the framing story for this anthology.
Dry Blood (Tubi, Vudu): a guy tries to detox by going to his cabin in the woods, but gets harassed by a sheriff and ghosts instead.
Under The Shadow (Netflix): a mother and her daughter have a choice to make: ghosts inside or falling bombs outside.
Ghostwatch (rental): the BBC investigates a real haunted house with predictable but awesome results, highly recommended.
Viy: Russian story about a priest praying over a body for 3 nights while getting harassed by an increasingly annoyed ghost. Pretty impressive still.
Cold Moon (Prime, Tubi, Vudu): police investigate the murder of a local girl, but her ghost already knows who did it.
Ghost Stories (Hulu): a man who spends his life debunking paranormal events may have found evidence to the contrary as he investigates 3 new cases.
Zombie fare: Here Comes Hell (Tubi): Evil Dead meets the Great Gatsby and the fancy dinner party is ruined.
Bloody Muscle Body Builder in Hell: Evil Dead in a tiny Japanese apartment as 2 people fight off their possessed friend.
Dead Shack (Shudder): a family investigates and then tries not to get killed by their neighbor who wants to feed them to her zombie family. Pretty funny.
Savageland (Prim

The style was woefully out of date, the seats all plas and chrome, the windows were smart windows with thicker glass than what was used in modern construction, and it was less luxury and more utilitarian than modern ones.
The startram was halfway between the outside layer of Layer Gamma and the inner layer of Layer Delta, in the thin vacuum zone that the mag-pipes pulled the huge fusion reactors through. There were 'space elevator' stations every few thousand miles. Giant cables stretching between the layers with massive facilities on either side of the mag-pipes for the startram to load and unload supplies and people who would rather take the space elevator than go to the next startram station.
It's all just so damn big, Herod thought to himself, staring down through the floor. He'd turned it transparent so he could see what they were traveling over. Below him rivers and forests and mountains whipped into view for a moment then were swept away by the sheer speed of the startram.
Wally sat next to him, folded up into a box, plugged into the wall socket so he could recharge.
Herod had spent the last three days working on part of the SUDS Disaster Management System. There were huge parts that had to be withdrawn from one section, moved via cargo startram to the area, then carefully moved with antigrav into position.
True, he'd just supervised then ran the self-checks, but he still felt exhausted.
He'd noticed that quite a bit. Somehow he had been getting 'tired' more and more recently.
Herod had climbed aboard the startram and immediately gone to sleep for almost fourteen hours. Defrag and memory maintenance was only part of it. The 'sun' was behind polarized magtrack, the system pulling in the majority of the thermal and radiation output of the massive fusion reaction, leaving everything dark.
But he didn't feel like sleeping again.
He kept dreaming.
Even turning off his dream generator had not helped.
He still dreamed.
YOU'RE FUCKED NOW! had been a constant in his dreams.
She was chasing him. Always chasing him. Laughing madly, her eyes crazed,

In this update, we've brought you revamped Karina - the most anticipated hero in the "Reforge Your Legend" event! We've also optimized the overall quality and gameplays of Alpha, Minotaur and Sun.
Our equipment system has also been fully upgraded. To match the revamp of old equipment and the release of new equipment, we've changed theRoaming/Jungling Equipment in your Recommended Equipment.
We believe that the equipment adjustments in the new version will help you choose equipment more easily and also provide you with more options so that heroes on each lane can better serve their purpose.
#[Equipment Adjustments]
#[Protection Points and Star-up Points Optimization]
We found that the players who have excellent performance and the players who tried their best to win their matches didn't get enough rewards, so we adjusted Star-up Points and Protection Points in this update.
#I. New Heroes & Revamped Heroes
[Revamped Hero: Karina, the Shadow Blade]
As the most eagerly anticipated hero in the "Reforge Your Legend" event, Karina's revamp was certainly no small challenge for us. Her role focuses more on "agility and assassination", so we've decided that this revamp should retain 'assassin' as her main feature while her agility needs to be strengthened, too.
[Passive - Shadow Combo]
Extra damage will be dealt to a target when they are hit 3 times. Triggering Shadow Combo at hero targets reduces the cooldowns of Karina's Skill 1 and Skill 2.
[Skill 1 - Dance of Blades]
Karina keeps flourishing her twin blades to defend against all Basic Attacks as she increases her Movement Speed. She launches a s

In the late β80s and early β90s, where I grew up, the Grateful Dead were ridiculously, over-the-top popular. Iβm not the type of person to dislike something just because itβs ultra-fashionable, but I couldnβt help being turned off by their immense popularity--especially since a lot of their βfansβ at my new school were more into the scene and less into the actual music.
So, while I had little desire to fall in with that crowd, I did so anyway (probably out of a shared obsession with LSD). Over the next few years, I listened to a lot of Grateful Dead, but not by choice--it was only because virtually every party I attended was overrun with Deadheads. This did nothing to persuade me. I tolerated it, and got to know a bunch of their songs, but there was just no emotional connection.
I eventually became good friends with this really nice guy named Brian. Brian didnβt feel the need to dress like a stereotypical high school Deadhead, but his love of the band was completely genuine, and his excitement whenever he would talk about trading tapes or going to shows was absolutely infectious.
So, whenever Brian and I were driving around on a weekend night trying to find a good party, or whenever we gave up trying to find a good party and just decided to hang at his place (or my place), we were pretty good at compromising the music selection: About half the time, weβd listen to my music; and about half of the time, heβd put on a show.
Obviously, I enjoyed listening to my music a whole lot more, but whenever heβd put on a show, he would basically narrate it for me, and explain how it was rare for one song to flow directly into another song, how they were about to play a song they hadnβt played in several years, etc., and as somewhat of a statistical geek, I found this extremely interesting (Dave Lemieux, in his daily introductions to TIGDH, reminds me a lot of Brian).
Then, in May 1991, Brian asked me if I wanted to see the Dead at their upcoming show at Soldier Field. By this time, I certainly knew enough of their songs, and enough about the band, to be able to guarantee that I wouldnβt be bored. Plus, I was really intrigued by the fact that the show, like all Dead Shows, would be one-of-a-kind, with a set list that would ne

Anyone who has played all 3 Zero Escape games will readily tell you that once you are done, you sit down and drink a cold glass of water and say, "well, that was enough of that". I am very satisfied by the resolution of the third game, especially the part where it said "the entire second and third games are all alternate histories now so let's try to forget they happened". I don't need more timeline diagrams, convoluted plots, CoMpLeX MoTiVeS, over-the-top-gore. I am done. I'm not playing this "Dragon-arpa" game. I'm not that into dragons, either.
I keep seeing recommendations for this game. It's been forever since I've played Zero Escape, and the more traumatic details are starting to fade. I'm running out of stuff to play and I could really use a genre out of left field and I heard that this is, what, a dating sim where everyone dies? Also, hang on, it's not "Dragon-arpa"? Huh. Fine, it goes in the backlog. After I'm done with Infamous Second Son and Oxenfree and Crosscode and...
So I finish the first game ("Trigger Happy Havoc") and I am not super impressed. The comparison to Zero Escape 999 is always on the back on my mind, and this title has all its flaws and none of its saving graces:
Outrageous characters
That storytelling style I've best heard described as "Banality, banality, banality, banality.... MEGA TWIST! Banality, banality..."
The obnoxious, amoral, ADHD-afflicted mascot villain needs to die in a fire (and the one in Zero Escape VLR now needs to extra die in a fire now that I know they shamelessly stole the concept).
The game gets way too edgy and excited about its mechanics -- you SHOOT arguments with counter-argument BULLETS! You have shouting matches in DDR form to psychedelic DISCO LIGHTS! You make intuitive leaps by playing HANGMAN with yourself!
Zero Escape already did "you get passively nudged towards emotional investment in your missed-connection middle school sweetheart and if you take the bait hoo boy are you in for a ride" so much better.
As the villain helpfully explains in scene 1 of chapter 1, they did all this because they are an asshole. This is foreshadowing for the final twist, where it is revealed that actually they did all this because they are a super asshole.
In Zero Escape the whole setup seems really bad but in t
