Type Ii Superconductor Puns

I'm currently doing a research project and I want to do a simulation on type-II superconductors being suspended due to flux pinning and seeing how changing temperature and applied magnetic field can affect its dynamics. Which is the best simulation program to simulate this?

As I'm learning more about the "Meissner effect" relevant to type-II superconductor's, I'm curious if there is a proportionality between a material's thickness, and the magnetic field penetration? The greater thickness = Greater expulsion?

From what I understand:

Type I superconductors don't let the magnetic field through them at a certain temperature while Type II superconductors do.

The site claims that when coating saphire with YBCO, the superconductor will act like a Type II superconductor that DOES let the magnetic field through, but only because of the material being very thin.

Is the site wrong?

So basicly the question is: What is the diffenrence between a Type II supeconductor in Superconducting state and Mixed state? Is there a difference in supeconductivity? Breaking my head on this one. This graph maybe explains my question: http://i.imgur.com/kO6Wsjq.png?1

Type II superconductors have the possibility to lock in a specific position, so called quantum locking, but I'm a bit confused. Am I right that when a superconductor (type I/II) is in a superconductive state the Meissner effect occurs? And when it's in a mixed state the superconductor (only Type II) is locked in a certain position due to fluxons. Am I right? If not, please explain this phenomenon?

I have regular access to liquid nitrogen and rare earth magnets at work. A couple of us would like to try quantum locking/flux pinning just for fun. I know we need a Type 2 Superconductor for this to work, but the only place I can find to order from that seems somewhat reliable is $300 for a 14mm round piece of YBCO. This is something we just want to do for kicks, so we don't want to drop that kind of money for a one-off fun-experiment.

Is there another type of Type 2 that will give a similar result that is significantly cheaper? And where can we reliably order some from?

Hi all, need a little input as I am trying to understand a situation I've been in/ I am in, and to understand if my feelings are valid.

I had my first encounter with a lovely lady with diagnosed type II bipolar. (She was unmedicated for the entire time we were together.)

I ignored the red flags because the feeling we had together was very intense and absolutely lovely. Things were moving fast, I wasn't entirely against it but I wasn't entirely for it. She asked to be exclusive 2 weeks in, then said she loved me during week 3 then pulled away saying she doesn't want to say it as often as she is scared but then wanted to keep saying it, a little confusing but alright. Then hinted at wanting a relationship, but when I asked her she said she isn't ready then a week later she said she thought about it and wanted to, after her first rejection I said I wanted to as well but wanted us to continue improving our relationship.

The first day we met I had asked when was the last time she was more than casually involved with a man, and she said close to a month but they never dated.

Fast forward a couple weeks, she admits that her and her previous situation had ended ( he broke it off ) it the day her and I met ( she asked for us to meet at hers, we ended up spending 3 days together, was amazing. ). I ignored it as I was attached to her and I thought we were great together and I was " different" than the other men she has seen ( they treated her all very bad she explained the horror stories.) As time progressed, I knew about other men she had been with, and I ignored the timeline, until now, SPOILER: We are done and separated. I have health anxiety and I got herpes from a guy who lied and didn't disclose, in fact he's so careless I bet he's never been tested before or even after I told him what happened.

I've had outbreaks in my mouth and vulva. One blister pimple-looking in my mouth once and two 'might-be' outbreaks in my genital area with no apparent blisters but itching so much, both OB lasted around a week.

At this point I'm praying there's a mistake and this isn't herpes, but I can't rely on that. I'm just really sad and months before contracting it I was having awful anxiety attacks thinking I got it when I was actually just freaking out. Now I have it and it's like I saw it coming.
