A list of puns related to "Tyler Lockett"
A long video, but I searched for the Lockett question, so, no need for you to do the same.
It's a complete guess, but it does come from a member of the Seahawks beat who thinks Lockett has a, "better than 50%" chance of playing Tuesday. He cited how Lockett was feeling better on Friday after being symptomatic on Thursday. It's the best news I've heard all day after facing Cooks, Gage and St-Brown, yesterday. Hopefully it brightens the day for some of you as well.
Well boys he didnβt kill us but anyone who watched the game knows heβs was a coin flip from a week winning performance.
Specifically:
Lockett was wide open on what would have been a long early TD, and was tackled before the ball arrived by the DB he burned. PI is called and Metcalf steals the TD.
Catches a 16 yard TD that is negated by ticky-tack holding penalty on the LT.
Wilson overthrow on, again, a wide open Lockett on what would have been a 70 yard TD.
11 PPR points isnβt killer but God damn it hurts to know how close he was to a 40+ point performance. I guess sometimes itβs better not to watch the gamesβ¦
Edit: People seem to not be reading the post. Nobody is sad about owning Lockett. Nobody denies he is boom or bust (massively overstated incidentally as all WRs are inconsistent). What is sad is if you watched the game, it was as close as you can come to a week winning performance without actually putting up any meaningful numbers. And sorry but anyone victory lapping a βsell highβ on a guy who just got double digit targets frankly doesnβt know what they are doing.
I watched Tyler Lockett's post-game conference. He made some interesting comments about how defenses simply aren't playing us like they play everyone else. He provided a pretty specific example: a team might show man coverage on tape for 7-8 games prior to playing us, and then not play man when they face us. Could Wilson be having issues adapting when teams don't give him what he's prepared for? Tyler makes it seem like an area that everyone can improve on, but even one of the commentators in the broadcast mentioned that Russ dumping a pass of to the RB (in the 3rd or 4th) was a sign that Russ didn't know what the defense was giving him.
Relevant Q+A roughly transcribed:
Q: When you look at your guyβs third down [issues] on tape on tape or when you're out there what are you seeing, what's the problem?
A: Honestly, all these teams are not playing what they play on film. They're literally not. So, it's hard to be able to get ready because you don't know what you're gonna get. Every time you go against the team they might play all man-to-man their whole entire seven, eight games, and then they around and play us, and they don't play man once. So, when you're looking at what teams are doing consistently week-in and week-out, nobody's doing that against us.
We have to be able adjust because we have to be able to understand what teams are doing, and once we finally figure out the game plan, that's when we're able to get things moving. That's the thing that we're all trying to figure out, and we're all trying to learn, because teams are just throwing out different coverages. When you're getting ready for a week, and you're seeing what they're doing consistently, and this is what we're planning for, and they're not doing any of the stuff that they normally do, you got to be able to figure things out faster.
Q: Is that a new issue that hasn't cropped up in previous seasons?
A: Oh, yeah, they did that last year. That's the thing, teams play different ways, and that's why I said the biggest thing for us that I've learned just in general as a player is be able to watch your film, but also be able to know what teams β¦ try to try to play chess, figure out what could stop you, and figure out what teams are doing to try to stop you. That way you can have an idea of what we can do to be able to make things better. We can have a great week of practice, we can be able to know what defense they'
Why does everyone assume DK is the go to man when Lockett and Russ obviously have more chemistry. Lockett has been insane the last 4 years.
All this guy does is get 1 target a week and cost everyone who has him weeks, especially since Wilson went down.
Is he worth holding on to hoping that his "mind meld" with Wilson still holds? How can we start this guy with confidence in the play offs?
A next page in the Geno-Glennon saga HAS BEEN WRITTEN!
This is a saga that both myself and u/DayOldTurkeySandwich have chronicled. DatOldTurkeySandwich was unfortunately unable to post today, but he gave me permission to post this today.
It had seemed that Geno would hold the lead for passing yards among the 2013 QB Draft Class, known well as one of the worst QB draft classes in NFL history. Long-incumbent starter Russell Wilson went out longterm with a nasty finger injury on Thursday Night Football last week and Smith took a slim lead over the previous leader, Mike Glennon.
Mike Glennon, however woke up from dormancy to lead the Giants in relief to TAKE. THAT. RECORD. BACK during last Sunday's afternoon matchup, gaining 85 yards on Geno
Alas, It seems that may be the last major challenge though, Danny Dimes returned to the starting role today and Glennon returned to the sideline. But Geno, for the time being, IS the Seahawks starting QB with Glennon's mark on the horizon. After methodically driving down the field, Geno managed to overtake Glennon on a 14-yard pass to Tyler Lockett, going up to 6,432 Passing Yards to Glennon's 6,431 yards. It may have taken Geno a good while to retake his title due to a poor offensive showing in the first half but he did eventually reach the mark
His final stat total on the day is still up in the air but I will update this when the game ends. But this may be the end of the story for now. As it stands, Eugene Cyril "Geno" Smith III is the king of NFL's shit draft mountain.
