Does anyone know if Malaysia's schools have received notification from Cambridge regarding the candidates who are awarded the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Award in May June 2021 sitting?
Let’s take a look at Petrofac's history an affiliations and get a better idea of who they are and why this deal is questionable at best:
- Subsidiary has been ordered to pay GBP 77 Million after the Serious Fraud Office procured guilty pleas for bribery.
- Top management officer pleaded guilty to multiple bribery offences relating to contracts worth USD2.4 Billion.
- Petrofac is barred by UAE, Saudi Arabia and Iraq from procuring any contracts.
- Ties with Unaoil, a company that allegedly assists corporations secure high-value contracts through means of bribery and corruption
- Petronas once cancelled a contract with Petrofac's Malaysian Unit in July 2016 due to growing concerns regarding their ties with Unaoil
Despite all of this, a contract worth RM400 Million was awarded to Petrofac by Petronas last week, is this being afraid of their potential exit as a vote of no-confidence in Malaysia's economic resurgence? Or merely another high-scale underhanded deal facilitated by the largest oil & gas corporation in Malaysia.
The shadiest part is that they already have cancelled one deal in 2016, but now they're awarding them with another high-value deal, almost half a billion dollars worth. Or Could this stem from an ulterior motive from their CEO Tengku Taufik.
