Traveling to Tulum and Cancun, Mexico in February for the first time and I need some advice/recommendations.

What is your experience with rental cars? We are flying into Cancun and driving to Tulum for the first 5 days. Getting a rental car seems like the cheapest option but I don’t see much talk online about renting.
If we get a rental (Airbnb) in downtown Tulum, how do we sign up for beach access or the beach clubs? Are they all a part of the hotels? Any recommendations on which are the best?
Any other Tulum/Cancun/Mexico recommendations and advice would be greatly appreciated :)

For context, 3 young American adults who love outdoor adventures and experiencing new cultures. Not boujee but enjoy nice things. TIA!

Mexico/Tulum for 2 months. Any recommendations?

Hello there,

We are traveling to Mexico for 2 months starting end of January.

We are planning to enjoy the culture have some free time and work from there.

Mostly we’ve seen Tulum as a destination but as far as I can see there are different opinions on the city so could you recommend me other potential nice cities for digital nomads?

Also, if any of you has long term recommendations for rent in Tulum/Cancun or anywhere on Yucatan Peninsula please share. Is $1000 per month a good budget for it?

1 bedroom would be enough

28M, Cancun/Tulum Mexico, Dec 23 to Jan 2, 2022

Hi, I will be flying from US to Cancun, MX tomorrow and plan to stay in that region for next 8-9 days, enjoy the NYE and return from Cancun. My plan is pretty much open (actually wondering if i should book accommodation or not). If anyone's going to be there, I would love to grab a drink or explore the place together. Mexico: Rental Car for Cancun, Cozumel and Tulum

Looking for advice! We will be flying into Cancun, then staying in Cozumel for a week before venturing to Tulum ( then heading back up to Cancun again for the flight back)

What do you think is the best option?
1. Rent 1 Car for the whole time: Rent a car in Cancun, take it on the ferry to Cozumel, take it on the ferry back, drive it to Tulum then drive it back to Cancun

2. Rent 2 Cars: Take a taxi from Cancun to the ferry. Then once on Cozumel, rent a car. Return it before taking ferry back to Playa del Carmen. Then rent a car in Playa del Carmen to drive to Tulum, then return it to Cancun
