A list of puns related to "Tucker Gates"
Iβm Phil Tucker, author of The Chronicles of the Black Gate, the Euphoria Online and Godsblood trilogies, and as of two weeks ago a progression fantasy of epic size called Bastion.
Iβve been writing fantasy full-time since 2016, when The Path of Flames came in second in that yearβs SPFBO, but published my first book as far back asβ¦ 2011? Memory fails me. I feel like Gandalf in Moria. Iβve witnessed the tumultuous changes that have wracked the indie publishing scene first hand, made many friends along the way, and feel truly fortunate to still be here with you all, still writing, still loving the craft, and happy to answer any questions you may have.
To celebrate Bastionβs launch, Iβm giving away two autographed copies of the print edition. These are veritable chonkers, as I just slipped under Kindle Direct Publishingβs maximum possible page count to get them printed.

To enter, simply select two characters from fiction for a quiet dinner at an exclusive location of your choice. Bonus points if you explain why youβd invite them to dine with you for a couple of hours.
Iβll select the two entries mostly at random, though the more delightful the answer the more likely it is to catch and hold my attention. Enjoy!
Edit: thank you for your questions, everyone! I've PM'd the two winners, and the contest is closed.
Hello r/Fantasy! I'm Phil Tucker, indie author of The Chronicles of the Black Gate and the Godsblood Trilogy. Book 1 of my Chronicles came in 2nd place last year in Mark Lawrence's #SPFBO competition, as well as being a nominated by our community here as a Stabby Award Finalist - a huge honor!
As a big thank you for all the support I've received here and to celebrate the release of my second Godsblood book yesterday, I'd like to give away 10 Audible audiobook codes to the answers I (entirely subjectively) like best to this question:
>You have the ability to swap the protagonist of any fantasy book for that of another (or two), and still compel the original author to write their series to completion and have the new protagonist save the day. Whom would you swap into which adventure? For example, I'd love to see Granny Weatherwax and Nanny Ogg swapped into LotR in Bilbo and Sam's place. Too many amazing scenes would have resulted :)
Also, of course, please feel free to AMA!
Thank you everyone for the questions and fun - I'm going to PM the audiocodes to the winners. Cheers!

episode 6.09 "Ab Aeterno"
episode 6.15 "Across the Sea"

There are a few episodes from other shows that I thought were really well directed, too.
Salutations! I'm Phil Tucker, author of various novels but most recently the Chronicles of the Black Gate: The Path of Flames, The Black Shriving, and the upcoming Siege of Abythos.
I have an abiding love for SFF (especially David Gemmell, Jack Vance, Gene Wolfe, and China Mieville), Fighting Fantasy books, Warhammer, table-top and text-based rpgs, history, and other random things - AMA!
Edit: heading out for dinner with family, will resume answering questions in a couple of hours when I get back home around 9 PM EST. Keep 'em coming!
Edit: All right, I'm logging off now. If you have any more questions, I'll be happy to get to them tomorrow morning.
Looks like the book releases on Oct. 7. And in case I screwed up the link in the title, here it is again: The White Song
I was lucky enough to have already read it, and I won't say much other than to say I loved it. The book picks up directly after the world shattering events of book 4. The characters continue to struggle against insurmountable odds. Strains show and even the bravest begin to crack. Nothing is easy and redemption has a price. All in all, it's an ending of one story, but many more are available for the world that Phil created. I want more.
Called The Iron Circlet, this is Phil's fourth release in this series, all written inside a year's time (!!) The series will be five books in all.
I've read that a number of people have enjoyed A Path of Flames on here. If there's any question of whether the quality of the story continues through subsequent books, I can assure you that it does. (Tharok's story in particular seemingly drops a "holy s#!t" moment nearly every chapter.)
These books are exciting, unpredictable, and at times heartbreaking. Whether you're reading about the brutally descriptive battle scenes or poetic evening assignations, Phil is adept at turning a phrase in whatever environment his characters populate.
If you're looking for a new addictive adult epic fantasy series, give this one a shot.

Hello all, and welcome to the 2021 Holiday MegaSale brought to you by Wraithmarked Creative, Mountaindale Press, Aethon Books, Shadow Alley Press, and Portal Books!
If you didn't know, this year we've turned the sale into a charity event to support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital!
While last year this was only a holiday sale, this year:
AND:
That means every book you buy/pick up for free net's St. Jude at least $0.05 in donations! If we only do as well as last year, we are likely to raise over $10,000 USD for the Hospital!
For those of you who aren't familiar with the organization, St. Jude's mission statement reads as follows:
The mission ofΒ St. JudeΒ Childrenβs Research HospitalΒ is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseasesΒ through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of our founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family's ability to pay.
So, every book you pick up helps further R&D of pediatric disease prevention and treatment!
(If you'd like to donate directly, check it out here!)
Nothing excessive here, just a bit of information!
I made this same kind of post last year and while it's a bit premature. I don't think I'll be finishing anything else by the end of the year, though there's a chance I'll squeeze in the last Skyward Novella depending on how I spend the final hours of the year, in which case it will be added
This year I had a bit less opportunity to read (hence it's down by 10), but I think I still made good use of that time. Somehow my audiobook count went up by 6 on the other hand, Maybe because I spend more time gaming this year or maybe because some of them were shorter on average than last year. It's difficult to say without digging deep. As you can see my main re-read project this year was Harry Potter (last year it was the Dresden Files). I'm considering The First Law for next year and I'm surely going to do LotR. I try not to re-read novels too often, but sometimes I really need a confirmed-to-good book.
I mostly stick to fantasy, but I mix in a fair share of sci-fi, a little thriller and mystery (in this case a lot since I did all of Sherlock this year), historical, and I'm pleased to say I actually had one autobiography as well, which is very unlike me but who can resist Westley himself reading about the making of The Princess Bride along with other cast guests?
Anyways, just like last year I've rated everything out of 5. I wouldn't say they're definitive rankings unless I decide to go in with a fine-toothed comb and adjust them relative to my enjoyment of all of the other ones that year, but the general ratings should be somewhat close to my general opinion of the novels. I will note however that I'm probably a bit too generous with my ratings, as many wind up in the 3.5+ range, when with anime (of which I've seen 250 titles this year, which is up by quite a lot) I rate it far harsher. I'd say more deserve to get pulled down a bit rather than up, but that's likely not true in every case and I'd love it if everything I tried from any medium was good or better, but you never know until you try it. Without further ado here's my list.

The Crimson Queen by Alec Hutson 3.9/5

Hey guys, right off the bat let's point out that Trent Brown as usual is end game. So if you can put him at RT then you won't need to worry about another card till the game is over. Which given the way the content has been rolling out might just be for another week.
But I digress.
Good players all around of course and here is how they stack up:

Same as last year, I'll post my top 5 (in no particular order) for each calendar month of 2020, varying from popular favourites to ones I feel like deserve way more attention in the general conversation.
Jan 2021
One, Two, Three (1961) - To me, Billy Wilder's movies are some of the most accessible movies anyone could watch from old classics, if you're looking to get into classic cinema, then he's one of the best places to start. I know a lot of people struggle with the pacing of movies from decades prior because of the different pacing, humour and acting. But One, Two, Three is such a consistently funny comedy with rapid fire dialogue that the runtime flies by. Not to mention, James Cagney is more than up for the task with his animated, live wire performance. Plus the satire is so razor sharp that it hasn't aged a day, a lot of the barbs at corporations and Cold War politics remain just as relevant today.
Dragged Across Concrete (2018) - By S. Craig Zahler's standards, this film went under the radar compared to his previous outings and I'm scratching my head a bit as to why that is, I guess maybe because it's his longest film so far, and the fact that people couldn't quite decide what Zahler's politics are from this film, he doesn't talk about his political views in public as far as I'm aware, so people extrapolated the film's intentions from the politics of the two lead actors, Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn. But to me, it's paced just as well as Bone Tomahawk, and Brawl in Cell Block 99. It builds flawlessly to a tense climax with satisfying payoffs and I'm pretty sure from the ending I know where Zahler's intentions lie. The stakes for each character involved in this whole mess is clearly defined and yet we root for them all even if it's a zero-sum game, I think Zahler did something very special here.
The Tenant (1976) - Polanksi's attention to detail and the craft is always so meticulous, he's just one of those directors that came fully formed out of the gate with Knife in the Water and The Tenant is another of Polanksi's great psychological horror films much like Rosemary's Baby, it feels very modern and it's gorgeously photographed by Sven Nykvist, Bergman's regular cinematographer. It taps into some deep-seated paranoia and makes us squirm and squeal (in a good way) and Polanksi is surpisingly effective as an

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Iβve been reading some of these posts on here and now I understand what my family was going through when I went down the Q rabbit hole. I am so embarrassed and ashamed. I never thought something like this could happen to me. Now looking back, I was in a very vulnerable place. If the pandemic never happened, I do not think I would have fallen down the rabbit hole.
Hereβs the abbreviated version of my Q indoctrination. March/April 2020, I saw a video on TikTok, saying, βhey I know you hate Trump, but heβs spearheading a global human trafficking ring. Please watch the documentary Out of Shadows.β I watched it and boomβ¦all my social media algorithms carried me further and further down the rabbit hole. Before you know it, you are living in an alternative reality. Itβs painful at first, but then you start to accept these new βtruthsβ and you find your tribe who are also βred pilled.β Hereβs the interesting part with Q, itβs this nebulous entity, YOU are supposed to dissect the βQ dropsβ itβs like a do-it-yourself scavenger hunt. Q never said anything about anti-vax, flat earth, aliens, never going to the moon, etc. but somehow all fringe groups get lumped together under the one umbrella. Itβs also worth noting, one doesnβt have to subscribe to all of it. My one friend thinks Trump is a time traveler and the royal family are reptiles. I was never that far gone, but I did think Trump was asked by the military to take down a pedo ring. Sounds insane, I know, but now looking back, I felt so uneasy having Trump as president, in a weird way this brought me comfort. He was asked by military to βsaveβ the country. Also, Trump played into this which brought further confirmation this was all true. For example, saying βI was chosenβ β¦ βI was part of the club, it was a nice club to be part of, now Iβm not in it anymore.β βItβs not me who they are after, itβs YOU, Iβm just in the way.β I can give so many more examples. Sometimes I wonder if he was indeed the mastermind behind all of this.
The Q grip started to lose its reign over me when Biden was inaugurated. However, I then shifted my focus on the vaccine. I became very anti-vax, even at one point saying, βI will NEVER take this vaccine let them fire me." My work mandated the vaccine, I field an exemption and they honored it. This was my aha moment. My βfreedomβ was not being taken away and then I asked myself, βwhy am I so against this vaccine?β I decided to turn off all social media. I reached out to for
... keep reading on reddit β‘Alot of great jokes get posted here! However just because you have a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke.
THIS IS NOT ABOUT NSFW, THIS IS ABOUT LONG JOKES, BLONDE JOKES, SEXUAL JOKES, KNOCK KNOCK JOKES, POLITICAL JOKES, ETC BEING POSTED IN A DAD JOKE SUB
Try telling these sexual jokes that get posted here, to your kid and see how your spouse likes it.. if that goes well, Try telling one of your friends kid about your sex life being like Coca cola, first it was normal, than light and now zero , and see if the parents are OK with you telling their kid the "dad joke"
I'm not even referencing the NSFW, I'm saying Dad jokes are corny, and sometimes painful, not sexual
So check out r/jokes for all types of jokes
r/unclejokes for dirty jokes
r/3amjokes for real weird and alot of OC
r/cleandadjokes If your really sick of seeing not dad jokes in r/dadjokes
Punchline !
Edit: this is not a post about NSFW , This is about jokes, knock knock jokes, blonde jokes, political jokes etc being posted in a dad joke sub
Edit 2: don't touch the thermostat

Hey guys, so lots have been said about the playoff program and while I did have my comments as well, I think I'll just leave it as EA couldn't have tried harder to mess this up if they simply didn't release a program in the first place. At least then we wouldn't be left with the travesty of what we got instead.
Now I will say the ToTY nominees are just batshit and clearly EA is picking names out of a hat that like Stephen A. Smith gave them because "he's a smart guy." Honestly the guys were solely based off name recognition. I mean how else can they justify Armstead at LT (8 games all year) Boles (who was the definition of average and ranked lower than Jonah Williams according to PFF) Norwell who was a turnstile or Bulaga who didn't even fucking play this year? It's insane who they chose and an insult to actual good linemen.
ToTY should have gone this way:
Hey guys!
Sorry for any delay on this, was vacationing the past week so I was off the grid when all these cards came out. A brief overview, we have a few great cards, a few good ones, a new budget beast TE that will release today, and a FB that you'll never take out of your lineup.
