AEW's first press conference was on January 8th, 2019. As AEW is now 3 years in since their very first event, a lot of talent is up for contract renewal, as a lot of names were signed to 3 year contracts (or 3 years plus options in the case of The Elite & Chris Jericho).
Looking back at who has performed for AEW 2019, I was curious who potentially could be leaving, so using CageMatch I did my best to get all the talent for AEW that appeared for them in 2019, as well as their first on screen date. They may have been announced beforehand on twitter or somewhere else, but to make it easy without needing to do tons of research, I've kept it to their first on screen date.
###The Initial Press Conference
It's safe to assume that since we are now at the 3 year mark of the press conference, anyone who did not have an option on their contract has been extended and is with AEW for longer. Anyone that has confirmed as re-signed/extended is noted, but again, all these names are assumed to be extended

I mentioned at the top of my previous mock draft post that one person mocks are fun, but they don't bring much to the table. It only allows you to see one perspective and wouldn't resemble many of your real drafts very closely at all. So I reached out to some of my favorite posters on this sub and through the glory of the internet, we mock drafted together. This is how it went.
I know a lot of people are going to be upset that I didn't draft a QB. This was a tough call at the 1.01 between Breece Hall and Treylon Burks. I will likely flop between the two throughout the offseason. Gave Hall the nod this time due to RB positional scarcity. Hall is a good all-purpose RB with a nose for the endzone. I see him as an RB2 floor with Top 5 RB upside.
A program defining career for the Razorback receiver. On top of an excellent college career, he will test βgood enoughβ at minimum. Solid profile including an early breakout against quality competition, and quality performance against man coverage. Donβt overthink it. If nothing changes between now and Mayβdraft Treylon.
When I was going through the pre-draft process, I remember saying βI generally donβt like touching QBβs from this class before 1.04.β Wellβ¦ Here we are. What this pick comes down to, for me, is being more afraid of losing Corral and being βstuckβ with any of the other guys if I pass on him at 1.03. I love Corralβs legs (very underrated part of his game) and think that his escapability will help him grow into a more refined passer at the NFL level. His ceiling is pretty high in my opinion but more importantly, I think he has a real floor as a stable NFL starter. I canβt say the same for any other prospects in this class, minus maybe Pickett.
Iβve started souring on Spiller just a little bit. On top of that, I wouldnβt be surprised to see Walker be the first RB off the board come draft day. I donβt think anyone is doubting Walkerβs talent on the ground and from what Iβve seen I think he can offer a good enough receiving game to keep him on the field as often as possible. I was tempted to grab my WR2 Garret Wilson here, but positional scarcity brings Walker up a little further.
With Burks gone I donβt see a need to attack the WR position a

But of course I think what they did, or attempted, was take all of this away from me. They don't want to hear my music, don't want to see happy CM Punk and enjoying wrestling fans. And then, well, then I get pissed off. Because it's been so long since I felt or had this, so long since I needed t

Greetings! Hope everyone in this sub is having a wonderful week. I just started getting into scouting last year as a side hobby and am absolutely loving it. This is the time of year where I am constantly massaging my mock draft file attempting to balance team needs vs BPA. I will continue to make adjustments and release mocks monthly as we get more information on prospects and teams. I am also working on putting together a top 32 overall big board.
I think it's a little silly to be projecting trades considering we don't know where teams will be picking yet, so please note that there are no trades in this mock. Let me know what you guys think. I am looking for constructive criticism and feedback on how I did addressing your teams needs and the pick in general. Wouldn't mind hearing who you think I'm too high or too low on as well. Let's get started!

1.01 - Detroit Lions
Pick: Kayvon Thibodeaux
Position: EDGE
School: Oregon
Pick Notes: In what is widely considered to be a weak QB class, Thibodeaux is the best overall player in the draft in my opinion. He doesnβt have the raw strength you would like to see from a βcanβt missβ prospect but he is one of the most technically refined edge rushers I have seen coming out. The Lions are in desperate need for an influx of talent on their roster and Thibodeaux will be a significant boost for their defense.
1.02 - Houston Texans
Pick: Matt Corral
Position: QB
School: Ole Miss
Pick Notes: I expect the Texans to use the draft capital they get from trading Watson to fill out the rest of the holes on their roster. However, until those extra picks do come in, itβs hard for me to see them passing on a QB here when they get their first hand choice at βtheir guyβ vs having to settle with whatβs available to them. I donβt think any QB in this class is necessarily worth going this high based on talent but when a QB needy team gets presented with first dibs on the landscape of QBβs they usually donβt pass it up.
1.03 - New York Jets
Pick: Evan Neal
Position: OT
School: Alabama
Pick Notes: Having two bookend behemoth offensive tackles in Becton and Neal to protect your new franchise QB would be a very smart decision here. Neal is the blue chip tackle prospect from this class and wo
... keep reading on reddit β‘When the topic of "how do you properly structure a good stable" comes up, I always refer to the ideology of one of the greatest minds in the business, Raven. For Raven, a stable should have : the main guy, a big heater ( 6'5, 300 pounds or so ), a high flyer / exciting performer that is eventually going to break out on his own and be a big star ( the Stevie Richards spot if you will ), a tag team and a resident clown / comedy relief / job guy. This system is perfect, as Raven played a dark character himself for many years. However, since the business has changed so much, a female member is a must also as AEW, number one, has a lot of underutilized performers and number two, quite a few of them fit this aesthetic. Therefore, House of Black might look a little something like this :
- Main guy / top guy : Malakai Black ( obviously )
- Big heater : Brody King ( my man literally looks like a bigger Malakai, he is pe-rf-ec-t ). Another choice would be a heel Luchasaurus, but I like Brody more so I am sticking with him.
- Future star : tricky, really tricky, as there are quite a few choices. Darby would be a great choice, but he is universally beloved. Dante Martin works IF they completely change his look, kid is a babyface in every sense of that word. Here is a weird one for you - Kip Sabian ! His new gimmick is certainly... "out there", and I can see him getting over as Malakai's smaller understudy that's taken advantage of. Lio Rush under his Blackheart gimmick would work amazingly. Finally, 10 of the Dark Order. I know he is a big guy, but Brody is much bigger, plus Vance really needs a revamp of some sort. He is in a worse position now than he was a year and a half ago. Bottom line, any of those guys could work.
- Tag Team : obviously Butcher and Blade. I know they are undercard gatekeepers, but with a right storyline they'd be believable killers, I guarantee you. An interesting proposition - heel Lucha Bros ! Penta is obviously notoriously good in this role, and the few of us that know of a little character called "Dark Fenix" will tell you that his brother isn't a slouch either. Bear Country with a modified look too perhaps, I could buy it.
- Gatekeeper / comedy guy / jester : a heel Trent ? Why not, I think it could work. Alan Angels perhaps, he is very young and will grow as a performer, this type of gimmick would allow him to develop mo

Hey guys so with this new Tony Boselli vs Taylor Mays selection I've seen a lot of back and forth on who to select and why. Mays is 6'3 and fast at FS so that seems like the move, but I'm sure you could guess who my pick will be. Reason being is that by years end we're lucky if our favorite squad has 3 great O lineman, let alone 4. So the fact that Tony Boselli gets a secondary chem FOR EVERY OFFENSIVE LINEMAN POSITION is reason enough to select him for your team. I'll go into why this is so important below, but really this card will most likely be the best center we ever get this year.
So here is how Tony stacks up as a LT right now at his various levels

Malakai is here. He says he agrees with Arn. He says Brock is in over his head. He offers him a way out. When the ref rings the bell. He tells Arn to roll out or get DQ'd. He will give him ten seconds to say sorry, and leave. βYou will think about the idiocracy you were about to commit yourself toβ. If he doesn't, he will take his rage out on everyone associated with the Nightmare family.
Jericho is coming out. Commentary puts over how devastating his loss to MJF was to him. Jericho says the crowd sounds great. He says this has been one of the biggest weeks in AEW history. Everybody has been celebrating except for him. He lost to MJF, for the third time. It's been driving him crazy, he's been losing sleep. It's been bothering him so much because he IS Chris Jericho. He's always tried to stay on top. He does this because he has to. It's what he does. But the fact that he failed has been driving him crazy. He says he will keep attacking MJF until he wins.
