Hello everyone. Although I got the CD in some days ago and I went to the convention more then a week ago I couldn't resist writing a post to you all. Especially about the CD which I think should really deserve some praise!
So let's start with the main point. A couple of days ago my Limited Edition CD of the ending of noragami, Tia's 'γγΌγ γͺγ’γ©γ€γΊ (Heart Realize)' came in.
I've picked up collecting CD's of OP's, ED's and insert songs (occasionally OST's) not so long ago because it is my biggest passion in anime. But this LE version really stood out!
First of all the size of the CD box was like that of a DVD. The cover, which is made of cardboard, has some beautiful art on it. And whereas most CD's have this small cardboard over it's rug/spine this one has it around the bottom and at the back extending over whole the cover, with stickers on it!

When you open it you notice that the front cardboard part actually was made in a sort of sleeve, with inside 3 things cards that first looked like postcards. But they actually had the lyrics of the songs on their back and the third one had the information of the staff. Each one has some very nice art on them (which I sadly won't show fully because it would be like linking a full song)

I buy the Limited Editions of CD's for the Non-credit OP or ED they get included on a DVD. This one had two tracks. The first one simply being the Non-credit ED. I didn't know what the second track was because I forgot there was a 'special bonus' included and I didn't bother to read the Kana.
But the moment it started playing it I just totally froze and sat there dumbstruck for the whole duration. It was the full ED this time, but it had animation. They used mostly non-colored outlines of animation of the anime's OP, ED and episodes, with sometimes new parts and occasionally it got colored. Together they kind off made a story with these animation sequences, or well it felt like a story.
And this is the whole reason why I think this Limited Edition was on a whole different level then what I saw before. The packaging, cards and stickers brought it already on a pretty high level. But that 2nd DVD track really made it god tier.
I'm not going to link it because rules (and I wouldn't have anyways) but you can search for it on your own accord.
As for the extra. A little more then a week ago I went to one of the bigger

Greetings, everyone! I am here to gauge interest in a Rewatch of Yoshikazu Yasuhikoβs 80βs filmography, which will be detailed in a section below. This Rewatch would begin on May 1st and end on the 5th of June, with threads going up at 11:00pm UTC (7:00pm EDT | 4:00pm PDT) according to the schedule. If this proposal interests you, do share your interest in the comments!
Who is Yoshikazu Yasuhiko?
Yoshikazu Yasuhiko is an influential illustrator, key animator, manga artist, and director perhaps best known for being character designer and animation director on 1979βs Mobile Suit Gundam, and who possesses an inmence legacy spanning decades of work and countless creatives who he has inspired. Yasuhikoβs character designs, illustrations, and animation have proved enduring and seminal, inspiring many others japanese illustrators, animators, and character designers, such as Toshihiro Kawamoto (Cowboy Bebop, Wolfβs Rain, Towa no Quon), Yoji Shinkawa (Metal Gear Solid, Policenauts, Zone of the Enders), Hirotoshi Sano (Patlabor the Mobile Police, RahXephon, Tekkaman Blade), Takahashi Kumiko (City Hunter, Fafner, Scrapped Princess) and Haruhiko Mikimoto (Gunbuster, Macross, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress), among many others.
Yasuhiko picked up the role of director in the early 80s, a pursuit he would continue until the end of the decade when he decided to leave animation behind and become a full-time mangaka, not returning to animation in any significant degree until 2015 when he opted to adapt parts of his long-running manga Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin into an OAV series beginning in 2015. This Rewatch will cover solely the earlier 80s period of his for several reasons. Firstly, The Origin is not a good choice for standalone viewing. Secondly, it being a recent production, it lacks the same legacy and influence of his 80s output. And thirdly, Yasuhikoβs current effort within the anime industry has continued since The Origin, and as such it would be even less appropriate to lump it in with this retrospective Rewatch.

Staff of the day
Traditional daughter/horny bike rider Reiko is voiced by Sakiko Tamagawa. She plays main characters in two OVAs which were also under consideration for this rewatch, Youβre Under Arrest and Record of Lodoss War. Maybe at some later date. Interestingly, her most prolific role is as β¦ a robot! She is the voice of Tachikoma from the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex universe. Diligent rewatchers already saw her this year as Onashia (Simoun) and Rie Nishida (Witchblade). And, as if planned after last episode, she also has a role in my, shared, second worst MAL anime, Cross Ange.
I wish I could find out who did all the mountain backgrounds, but there are half a dozen background artists credited for this episode, so I donβt know. Instead, let me highlight the animation director and character designer for this OVA, Toshihiro Kawamoto. He has also created some of the most impactful characters of western anime history, namely the cast of Cowboy Bebop, plus the OPs to both FMA and FMA:B, Plus the characters of Wolfβs Rain and Norigami (which is way higher on the MAL popularity list than I thought). He also was animation director on a personal top tier anime for me, the fantastic Visions of Escaflowne (although he did not create the iconic long nosed characters there).
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Do your worst!
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.

I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π

###Premise of Wolf's Rain
>####"I tell you now the words of Red Moon: From the great spirit was born the wolf, and man became its messenger."
The world is dying. Legends tell of a place called Rakuen, Paradise, that wolves will open at the end of the world and it will become a utopia for life left on the planet. Everyone knows it's only a legend because the last wolf was killed over two hundred years ago.
But wolves live on in secret, hidden from the world, able to disguise themselves from the eyes of humans. Drawn to a city that smells of Lunar Flowers, four wolves encounter each other through a series of chance meetings, each trying to survive in this ruined world in their own way. The only thing they have in common is their species and a longing for that entrancing smell on the breeze, but they find themselves traveling together towards paradise, an awkward pack led only by legends and the dreams of the one wolf who is sure it's all real.
Elsewhere the Flower Maiden lies dormant, held captive and studied like some long forgotten relic, waiting quietly for those who can awaken her. The scientists who watch over her are manipulated from the shadows by the nobles who wish to find paradise for themselves even at the expense of the humans caught up in their game.
###World and atmosphere
>####"The thing about fairy tales isβ¦ thereβs always some truth in βem."
There's a lot of different types of anime; fun shows, thinking shows, shows that ask the big questions.
Wolf's Rain is an anime that you feel.
There's something very mystical about Wolf's Rain. I've heard it described as a fairytale, the sort of fable you'd tell to a child for them to dream about, or around a campfire sharing tales from your culture. More than one person has mentioned that they think of it as a sort of living artwork, an experience that embraces "show, don't tell" in the best possible way.
For all of its atmosphere and ethereal nature it doesn't neglect that this is still a living world with a long history and a broader set of events happening outside of the main characters influence. To be clear, Wolf's Rain is unde

Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
