I'm completely new to the scene and have never been to Torture Garden before but I'd really like to go to the next event. Thing is, I'm relatively new to London, have zero friends and am entirely socially inept. Folk who have been to TG before, if I show up alone and awkward, will I stand out like a sore thumb? Will I make others uncomfortable? To ease my social anxiety, could you give me some info on what to expect? It seems like a very daunting experience for a newbie but I'm dying to get involved so any help/guidance/info you can provide would be massively appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Hey I am hoping to go to Torture Garden in London on the 2nd November (it'll be my first event!).
However i'm low on funds and know from friends how strict the dress code is for TG so i'm really trying to come up with a savvy way to dress super hot and unique but on a budget.
I normally make some of my cotumes for events but I know things can't be hand made looking for this event.
I'm a slim girl thats fairly average in height, love latex but cannot afford it at this time :-(
Does anyone have any brands/websites/ideas that can work for someone on a budget? I'm open to 2nd hand latex or anything else that will work, just looking for tips from seasoned experts :-)
The highlight of this week's Horror Show Hot Dog was Torture Garden, a weird-ass anthology featuring Burgess Meredith, Jack Palance, and Peter Cushing.
While it's a little slow-paced for modern audiences, there's something to like in every segment. Psychic murder cats, cyborg actors, a killer piano... this one's got it all.
If you ever wanted to see a hyperventilating Jack Palance square off against Grand Moff Tarkin over who is the bigger Edgar Allen Poe fanboy, this movie is for you.

So, I've been to a lot of play parties and such, but this is the first time I'm attending the Torture Garden Party tonight. Does anyone have anything insight as to what I should expect? Is there play, is it just a fetish themed party, etc?
Just saying I went to a club event this weekend and it was awesome.
I know it depends on how you regard your dressing. For those of us who are more on the kink side, fetish clubs can be great. And of course it depends on the the club.
I got to walk around in a skirt and make up and nobody was upset or lost their minds. So nice to be walking around discussing heels and things with women.
It was so mixed too, all ages, couples, genders and sexualities. And a friendly atmosphere. Really I feel it might have been just a good alignment of the planets, I'm not a complete novice on these things. Though maybe I had a low expectation - something like a rave but with more tourists and aggro. It's been a while since I've been to one like this.
For a straight crossdresser it's comfortable as you're not crashing the gay scene and women are more open, though some may find some bdsm activity too much.
All I can think about is my next outfit.
