A list of puns related to "Tobe Hooper"
TCM aside?
This is the only film I have seen directed by him, and itβs possibly my favourite film of all time. What others would you recommend
What is your personal favourite?
Start with - THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE
Followed by - POLTERGEIST
Then - LIFEFORCE
Underrated - EATEN ALIVE
Avoid - CROCODILE
Wanted to try something fun and positive for people lucky enough not to have seen everything already - thereβs so much great horror from the last 100 years for you! If you guys like this, I can cover other directors or types of horror.
As for my choices, TCM and Poltergeist are pretty obvious for different reasons. After that, I say watch Lifeforce - itβs totally insane.
Both Hooperβs Video Nasties are good, but Eaten Alive is my choice for an under-seen Hooper film. Itβs very similar to TCM but more deranged in some ways.
Lots of bad Hooper films after the 80s, unfortunately. Crocodile is definitely the worst though. Itβs like an Asylum film; very beneath Hooperβs talents.
Let me know what you think. Agree? Disagree?
I suspect Gaspar NoΓ© might also scratch this itch? I havenβt actually gotten around to watching an entire movie of his but I understand they operate in a similar way - albeit with a more shock factor? If so, which one would you recommend?
Any and all suggestions, across any and all genres, languages, ratings, level of exploitation, et al are welcome!
Thanks for your attention :)
It was going to be named 'Beyond The Valley of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' and originally involved an entire town full of cannibals, not just the Sawyer family. And the Hitchhiker survived and was supposedly tied to a tree by the family due to his injuries. And Sally was slated to return as well.
I'm OK with what we ended up with, but I would have preferred a real horror film instead and this probably would have been closer to that.
