A list of puns related to "Tlou Left Behind"
So I was just playing The left behind DLC and when Ellie is in the shopping mall with Riley, Riley mentions a firefly named Melanie. Could Mel be short for Melanie? It's probably not but it would be cool
Everything in the title
Can someone link the Reddit posts where the tracks from the soundtracks are listed and when they're used in the games. I know there's one for part 1 and part 2, but I'm not sure about Left Behind. If there is, a link to that would be great :)
I loved TLOU 2 (except for some of the ending), but the flashbacks just make me want more Joel and Ellie. Is there a chance we could get something like Left Behind? Maybe Joel and Tommy in the early days? Or Joel and Ellie in Jackson?
Hello everyone, I recently started playing tlou 2 (I've only played 3 hours), the first part I loved was from my last ps3 games and my favorites too, but two things happen to me I feel that when I played it it was still too small, I was 11 years old I think, could it be that I value the game more now? and the story really struck me but there are some details that may help me to play part 2 better ???
Thanks a lot in advance to everyone who answers, all answers would help me :)
Hands down the best story I've ever played in a video game. I absolutely loved watching the relationship between Joel and Ellie develop, where he started begrudgingly looking after her, to the point that he refused to let her go by the end.
Speaking of good writing, every single character was written impeccably. The arcs and growth of each character. Nobody was irrational and unable to understand. It's so clear how they thought out each character's journey and motivation.
Left Behind might be the best DLC I've ever played in a video game (only rivalled by Harley Quinn's Revenge in Arkham City - I have a huge soft spot for the Arkham games). It was nice to have DLC which perfectly walked the line of storytelling and action. And it served perfectly into the main story's narrative.
The visuals of each chapter are stunning. At each point, you feel like you're in the apocalypse. The harshness of the winter in David's camp, the beauty of the giraffe discovery, the abandonment of each section of the dystopian USA, it was unbelievably immersive.
Sometimes in games I've played, they've nailed the story but failed the gameplay. TLOU delivered on both. The gameplay was exciting and never felt repetitive. It was enjoyable to have new bosses and enemies at every turn. I loved the listening mode, as I found it to be a great accompaniment to the main gameplay. Having a little play through of Ellie along with Joel gave a nice balance (I hope we get a bit of Joel gameplay in TLOU 2 to mirror this game).
I could go on but I would confidently call The Last of Us at the very least one of my Top 5 games I've ever played and would recommend it to anyone.
Edit: Spoilers discussed in comment section
Super excited to be getting remastered next week. I played the original on PS3 when it first came out, cracking game! Never played the remaster or Left Behind.
Given Left Behind is a prequel, for full effect, should I replay original first before Left Behind or do the prequel then replay original? (I still remember all the core plot from my first play through if that helps)
Edit: thanks for the info guys, sounds like Left Behind first is the way to go :)
In a optional conversation with Riley in Left Behind Ellie says that her dream vacation would be "surfing in LA" and she ends up on a beach in Santa Barbara in California but under different circumstances. So neat detail.
Something weird happened, a couple related and at the same time unrelated things. First I wanted to download Infamous (PS3) to finish the Platinum, I completed the game on 2014 and seeing my list I remember I left the Platinum uncomplete so I wanted to do that. I remember I got the game when they gifted stuff after the hacking. I got Infamous and Death Nation. So I went to the store on PS3 and it's as if I don't have it, instead of the download button I see the currency to buy it. I've tried on the website and while here I see the download to your PS3 button it says "Sorry, we can't add to downloads".
Of course my PS3 is on, and in fact, I'm downloaded NFS: Most Wanted which I got from PSN+, so my account is fine.
Now here's the crazy thing. It's a big coincidence and probably unrelated since Infamous was given under an extraordinary circumstance. But I just purchased Left Behind for PS3 since I beat TLoU back in the day but never got the DLC yet, and since in a few days the second part will release I didn't want to delay it further. So I've purchased, together with a free DLC for other game, and the transaction went fine, yet again, I can't download it. It's as if I never had purchased it, both in PS3 store and in the website on the PC, where I purchased it. In the download history I only see the other free DLC, but not Left Behind. I checked my purchase confirmation e-mail and there appears I have purchase both the free DLC and Left Behind for 9,99β¬.
I don't know if this is a common issue or it's an strange case where I've had pretty bad luck. Before contacting with Sony I thought I might report it here in case this is common and has a workaround. If anyone knows about the games they gift in 2011 because of the hacking it would be cool to know, I've tried Dead Nation since I got this one the same way and it's as if I never owned it. I'm PSN+ member btw, have the year subscription.
Hey, remind me if this DLC was integrated into the actual story?
I played the game way back when PS4 came out so I dont remember, on PS3 it was definitely two parts
I am about to begin a NG+ for TLOU and I just read the American Dream comic.
I am hearing of 3 different ways to play Left Behind:
I hear that Left Behind is best played after you bear TLOU so that the DLC does not spoil bits of the main game. However I already played and beat TLOU months ago and about to do my NG+
Since I already best TLOU and know the plot, I should play it before I play the NG+ as in essence, it is a prequel DLC. However I am hearing there are small bits of the DLC that takes place in the middle of the game.
Since I already beat TLOU, I should play my NG+ first and when I get to the part right after the University section, I should stop, play Left Behind and then go back to finish my NG+. I hear this is the best experience from a narrative perspective considering I already beat TLOU and what I am currently leaning towards.
What are your thoughts?
The beginning of TLOU with Sarah is tougher each time. It was shocking the first time, but every time afterwards is just more painful because of who I know Joel to be and the journey I know that lies ahead. Reminds me of how LOTR is also emotionally powerful for me despite multiple viewings.
In Left Behind when Ellie clutches onto the first aid kit in the helicopter saying "I'm not letting you go" gets me every time. And her panicked, desperate reaction after noticing she's been bit is so sad because in light of TLOU, we know Riley's fate, and that Ellie is going to be "left behind". Ashley Johnson is amazing!
What the hell was the ending!?!?
I loved the story and the character build up but the ending was such a let down, just finished like 10 minutes go so excuse the cluttered thoughts here.
I don't have a Sony console so I had to play TLOU and Left Behind through the streaming service of PS Now on PC and without a doubt I can say I never experienced something as wonderful as playing this game.
I enjoyed every second, from the beginning until the end. Every single line and every single interaction.
I loved the character development, how everybody seemed human and had their own concerns and now I feel like I'm kinda empty, I wished this game didn't have an ending, it was so special.
The story of Joel and Ellie is so emotional and makes you empathize so fast like damn it's impossible to not feel for them after all they went through together.
The ambience and the design of the game was incredible like .
And for the gameplay, what can I say. I enjoyed a lot the gunplay, the weapons felt powerful and weighty and it was kinda challenging to aim because of the tension and how the character moved (or maybe I'm just a little noobie hehe).
As for the soundtrack, holy moly... Gustavo Santaolalla just gave us a gift composing it. I had chills every time I heard that guitar, I could be all day talking about all the moments but I don't want to make an extremely long post.
To conclude, I can only give all my appreciation to Naughty Dog because they've created a masterpiece and probably the best story I've ever witnessed. I cried a couple times with the main game and one time with Left Behind so you can imagine how I admire their work.
Now I'm just anxious for Part II because I'm already missing Joel and Ellie, damn...
I cried at least four times. Iβm not a crying kind of person. I wasnβt expecting this game to be so cinematically beautiful, I wasnβt expecting excellent dialogue and frickenβ character development arcs that are better than most books Iβve read, I wasnβt expecting such thorough detail. I wasnβt expecting that the characters would be so relatable. There were moments when I had genuine fear or when my mouth fell open in shock. I yelled and swore and then I cried a little bit more. I feel like now nothing else will compare and I just want to sit my ass at home and play this game again and again. Everything about this game is perfect, thereβs a few minor things Iβd change but really I have no complaints.
I think it goes without saying that Guerrilla Games have created one of the best technical masterpieces on current gen hardware - I thought Uncharted 4 wouldn't be topped and I was blown away with just how impressive Horizon is in terms of scale and detail and fidelity.
However, I think it's very clear that Horizon has more or less maxed out current hardware because of how incredibly optimised it is. That unflinching framerate 90% of the time is incredible and the fact that it is 1080p on base PS4 hardware is absolutely unreal.
With the release of new hardware making more threaded, more efficient CPUs and more powerful graphics cards potentially much cheaper perhaps native 4K60/30 is only maximum 2 to 3 years away. GG can go for even greater scale looking at things like:
For me, personally, this is the sequel that this incredible game deserves and the beauty that GG deserves to make. I think if GG want to continue with this generation, continue filling us with canon from the outside story of Horizon Zero Dawn. Let us experience the war against the machines, let's have more insight into Rost/Sylens, King Avad and the Carjan civil war. These are potential standalone expansions which if released very regularly will help satisfy my personal craving for more of this game.
Once again, thank you Guerrilla Games for one of the best and most complete games I have ever played.
Just finished The Last of Us remastered and Left Behind on ps4 the other week for the first time. Loved the game, absoloutely brilliant and I loved Left Behind too. It was as moving as the main campaign and the gameplay was really fun to play (especially a fan of setting clickers on the human enemies). I also really liked the way the narrative was framed between the two malls.
It got me thinking I would love to see some other small self-contained stories from this world, maybe from Henry or Bill or even Tommy etc, in the DLC from Last of Us 2 or as a kind of anthology spin off game (maybe similar in length to Lost Legacy in the Uncharted series). You could even follow some of the non established characters, like some of the families we read about in various memos.
It's just such a rich world with so much timeline left unexplored between the initial breakout and where we are now. I feel like I'm as interested in the world as I am either Joel or Ellie, and would like to see more of what happened in the last 20 (?) years.
I have seen that some people who are in the minority would like for TLOU2 to focus on entirely different main characters. Some even say to set it in Europe. I LOVE Ellie and Joel and want to see there story continued. I don't want that hilltop overlooking Tommy's village to be the last time I get to be with them. Personally, I would not have wanted UNCHARTED 2 or even 3 and 4 to have been made without Nathan. It just wouldn't be UNCHARTED without Nathan Drake. Just like TLOU2 would not be the same without Ellie and Joel. Please explain civilly to me why you would want anyone else other than Ellie and at least Joel to continue their story in TLOU2? I'm not hating. I would just like to hear your reasoning. I gave you mine. =) Thank you! =)
I probably won't trade the game in since I'll get like nothing for it, and might want to just keep the disc and box as a trophy for how good the game is/ maybe a game to replay years down the road when I've forgotten the nuances
Is Left Behind worth playing ? or MP? what did you do when you beat it?
thanks
I bought the remastered version to prepare for Part 2. I cannot wait to play this masterpiece again and the DLC. What do you think what difficulty should i play?
