###Before last year
Tkay Maidza is a Zimbabwe-born Australian singer, rapper and songwriter. She made a name for herself locally in 2015 with her energetic bop 'M.O.B.' and feature on Troye Sivan's 'DKLA' from his debut album Blue Neighbourhood.
The next year she released her own debut album TKAY, a bright slick pop-rap project led by tracks such as 'Simulation' and 'Carry On' featuring Killer Mike.
Around this time she also worked with a host of producers, from international acts like Martin Solveig (βDo It Rightβ) and Danny L Harle (βBom Bomβ) to local ones like Basenji (βMistakesβ) and Motez (βDown Like Thisβ).
In 2018 Tkay released the first volume of her Last Year Was Weird series which saw her mix her rap cuts with soulful melodic tunes, and this second volume follows on in kind.

The only requirement is that the artist you choose identifies as black so feel free to reach across any place or era for inspiration.
The charity all our funds are going to in this drive is Southern Fried Queer Pride. SFQP is an organization based in Atlanta that empowers Black queer and QTPOC centered communities in the South through the arts. Run by volunteer organizers who make events to bring spotlight to queer artistry as well as raise funds for them, their biggest draw being the Southern Fried Queer Pride festival (which did go digital this year!)

SFQP fights that notion, and is aiding in uplifting a honest narrative of resilience, rich history, and vibrance.
> SFQP envisions a world where Black and QTPOC artists and leaders are employed and owners in the regional South. Black and brown queer folks are often the dri
