Article > A group of Dallas Mavericks have teamed up to donate $1.1 million to the Dallas Mayorβs Disaster Relief Fund as a way to help DFW battle back from the problems caused by this week's winter weather.
>βI am beyond grateful for our partnership with the Dallas Mavericks and for the generosity of the organization,β Mayor Eric Johnson said in a statement. βOur residents are hurting right now, and this donation will be a tremendous help to those in need as we deal with property damage, displacements, water accessibility, and other related issues.β
>Owner Mark Cuban, CEO Cynt Marshall, and players Luka Doncic, Tim Hardaway Jr., Maxi Kleber and Dwight Powell have been cited (via the Dallas Morning News) as donors. The Mavs Foundation and Chime, a major team sponsor, are also contributing.
>βThere are so many fellow Dallasites without food, water, and shelter during this devastating winter storm, and we would be remiss if we did not help in some way,β Powell said in a statement. βI hope that our contributions will give relief to those struggling during this time.β
>Millions of Texans have been without power, heat and water due to the severity of the storm. Two Mavs games have been canceled this week due to the inclement and dangerous weather.
>βI hope others will also consider donating whatever they can to the Mayorβs Disaster Relief Fund and other reputable local organizations as we begin our recovery,β Johnson said.
When NAW was scoring 20+ it seemed like we were slapping teams. Having NAW as a factor took pressure off of Zion and BI offensively and gave the team more energy on defense since the offense was not bogged down. IMO, this was when we were the most dangerous. I believe there were a couple games in a row when both Lonzo and Bled were out and we won games by so much that the starters got to sit the 4th.
To me this signals we need a clear 3rd scorer who has the ability to drop 20 any night. I think Jonas is a good first step here but having an additional perimeter player to BI having this ability increases spacing to free the paint for Zion. That's why I suggest we focus on the guys listed in the title. They're all in that 15-20 ppg range (Duncan is a little lower) and have the ability to step immediately into that 3rd scorer role as NAW progresses.
Plus these guys are on our cores timeline way more than Kyle Lowry. We're in a unique position to add a highly skilled player through FA since the majority of our core are still on rookie contracts. I believe the correct decision is to add another key piece to our long term plans than a player who may only contribute for a season or two. What do y'all think?
*FYI - it's worth noting Gary Trent is only 22! This guy is still developing at a rapid pace and may have the potential to be a 25 ppg player at some point. That's a hell of a get from free agency.

" Former Raptors guard, Normal Powell reflects on his time in Toronto, settling in with the Trailblazers, his article in the Players Tribune, the reasons why Toronto is still not a premier free-agent destination, and his love for Toronto and it's fans. "
Why is it that when we lose it's only Rick, Dwight Powell and Tim Hardaway Jr who are ripped. However players like Seth Curry, Jalen Brunson, Luka DonΔiΔ, Maxi Kleber, Delon Wright and Kristaps always gets a pass.
Seth played like ass tonight. 2 points, 1-6, 0-4 from 3, 4 fouls and he got torched by Kemba Walker, Marcus Smart and even Brad Wanamaker... But I doubt it will be talked about. Is it strictly a contract thing? Like because Powell and THJ make over $10M and Seth makes $8M it's okay or Seth Curry to have bad games?
Obviously no player is going to be perfect and every player will have rough nights. But it's toxic to come onto this sub after every loss and routinely only see Tim Hardaway Jr, Dwight Powell and Rick Carlisle being blamed for losses.
Steven Adams and Drummond both match the Mavericks timeline theyβre both just 26 even through they seem older. The most the Mavericks should give up for either is Kleber or Powell, Courtney Leeβs expiring contract and golden stateβs second round pick. They canβt do Delon Wright because then front court would be depleted I like Jalen Bronson but doubt J.J could handle playing every game. I would hate to give up Powell or Kleber put feel more comfortable in our Sf and Pf depth then or Pg depth. If the Mavericks didnβt make a trade Iβll still be happy with our young core but who would yβall like better Drummond or Adams?
The esteemed daddies of synthpop have announced Agenda, a surprise four track EP produced by Tim Powell of Xenomania (who they previously worked with on their last album that had any kind of global impact, Yes). They had already made it known that they were working on an album with Stuart Price intended for later this year, but this work with Tim Powell is kinda coming out of nowhere.
The first track "Give stupidity a chance" is out on streaming services today, and a new track will be put out every day until the end of the week.
If you want to get it physically you can order it on CD here and on Vinyl here.
I love everything about Norm, he's a RFA next season and I really hope the Raptors match any offer to keep him.
Seeing the THJ debacle by the Knicks has got me sweating. These two players are a similar age and position and potential so I really hope these aren't the types of deals that the Raptors are gonna need to match next season.
I was thinking Norm is worth like $13-14M a year.
TLDR: Powell or Hardaway Jr.?
