This show has always been a bit of guilty pleasure of mine, so I set out to collect as many names of the children involved in the pageants as possible. I haven't included the names of any of the mothers and various other adults who have been involved in the show. I hope that you guys find this as interesting as I do!

So me and some friends were rewatching Petscop, and I realized that Rainer refers to Belle as 'Tiara' in Petscop 3, but refers to Belle as 'Belle' in Petscop 12. Petscop 12 is a whole demo through one of Belle's playthroughs of the game, or something similar to that. I've got the idea that Rainer is the one who programmed the whole portion of talking to Belle through that video, as he directly references the fact that he'd be gone by the time she sees any of it.

So why does Rainer refer to Belle as 'Tiara' in the early video? Because it's an earlier version made for Marvin. He'd call Belle the name that Marvin knew her by, or forced her into, because he most likely wouldn't accept her being called Belle at the time. However, in the version that Belle's actually playing in (the one made FOR her), Rainer calls her Belle because that's her real name (and I'm pretty sure he'd do anything against Marvin at that point), and she does not know herself as Tiara.

He says he called her Tiara preemptively too, which I'm pretty sure ties in to the theory that Rainer was working directly with Marvin for a time, most likely before realizing that what they were doing was extremely messed up. If this theory is correct, I feel like this could be an explanation for most of the Tiara/Belle name changes throughout the series.

I posted this in the Petscop 15 thread but I wanted to throw it out there in a proper little thread. I'm late to the party so if you're facepalming with "this is obvious you cretin, it's been posted 200 times!" I apologise :) I had a look for dupe threads but didn't see any. The bit I've made bold is the most interesting point IMO.

**

- There is constant duality of time and events throughout the series. 1997 and 2000 seem to have the same events repeating.

- Similarly, I think the biggest reveal in Petscop 15 was that Belle/Quitter and Tiara seem to be the same person in different states, maybe in different times. It reminds me of quantum states, where something can flit between two states or be both at once.

- I think Tiara is Belle "rebirthed". The abuse warped her personality and she now seems to agree with rebirthing as a concept (she comments on it matter-of-factly as if it's a standard process to perform on people at one point in one of the bedrooms).

- Belle/Quitter is the version of Tiara that rebelled against the rebirthing and abuse. She, like Candace Newmaker, was unable to survive the abuse or refused to comply with it. She possibly died as a result, at the very least she was labelled a "Quitter". The upside of this is that she kept her original personality and her spirit somehow lives on in the game.

- Here's the bit that connects the two IMO: the names. Belle is French for beautiful, as is common knowledge. Beauty is a free and abstract concept. By contrast a tiara is a beautiful object that you can own and completely control.

- Marvin (or another unknown abuser) essentially took Belle's naturally beautiful personality and used rebirthing to "turn her into" Tiara, a dehumanised item that has the look of beauty but is essentially hollow. This fits in completely with the way "Pets" are described in the Gift Plane as "somebody you like" at first, and then become "one you like". It's a reference to how abusers turn children from a human being into a depersonalised item they can control, and Belle --> Tiara is a full, characterised example of that process.

- IMO this also means that Tiara is now compliant with Marvin and may be dangerous, while Belle/Quitter is still trying to rebel. I think as a result that Tiara may be exploited to lure people within the game, to trick them into helping Marvin so he can hurt them or others somehow. This next bit is speculation, but I think Belle on the other hand is P

The Dravorian interrogator smirked down at the Terran soldier being held prisoner. She had sensed the soldier’s fear which had initially settled down but then spiked dramatically, strangely enough, when the soldier was stripped naked before being placed in the interrogation pod. She next examined and took notes about soldier’s body. It was a typical Terran male body for one engaged in combat work, according to her research and investigation about Terrans. He was physically fit, had several scars, and had minor cyber augmentation to limbs to repair damage beyond that which natural healing could recover. One thing Alyxr’gia found interesting was the pictures on the soldier’s skin. Apparently Terrans have a tradition among certain members of their species of using needles to poke ink under their skins to make pictures or messages. Her research showed that it had begun with early, more primitive cultures but was continued to be practiced to this day. Alyxr’gia smirked again looking over the pictures on the soldier’s skin. Willingly subjecting themselves to such things must strengthen their physical and mental stamina. This interrogation will be fun she thought to herself.

Alyxr’gia continued to examine the pictures and messages, trying to learn what she could to use in the interrogation. One inked image that caught her attention in particular was the large piece on the Terran’s chest, depicting a dramatic picture of a Terran skeleton, wearing a robe, and holding a primitive Terran farming implement in one hand, and beckoning with the other. The inked figure seemed to be grinning and behind it was a rectangular opening, a Terran doorway as Alyxr’gia understood from her research, within which was depicted a building that had a pointed roof of Terran religious significance, and what looked like twelve rocks sticking out of the dirt with writing on them. Alyxr’gia identified them as ancient Terran markers for where they buried their dead. Above the picture was written the phrase “La Oscuridad De Mi Corazon” on a scroll. The interrogator wondered what that could mean, and began searching in her comm tablet for a meaning. Hmmm…..The darkness of my heart. The interrogator pondered the meaning behind the depiction of a dead Terran and heart darkness. Maybe this Terran was dangerous to other Terrans and that was why he had been left behind when their forces had retreated from the planet they had named Sonora. I've been digging through Etsy for days and I've started to notice something I already kind of knew - many, many etsy sellers are just reselling cheaply made items they get from god-knows-where, and the quality is... okay. Definitely not "vintage" or "handmade" like the title says, which isn't surprising. And most of the time, the item names are just keyword vomit like "Gold silver tiara bridal crown head piece hair jewelry prom quinceanera hair vine womens gift," so it's really hard to tell who's actually creating their items vs. reselling.

JonBenét Ramsey was a six-year-old beauty queen who was found dead in her Boulder, Colorado home on December 26, 1996. Her murder is still unsolved today.

JonBenét Patricia Ramsey was born on August 6, 1990. She was named after both parents, John Bennett Ramsey and Patricia “Patsy” Ramsey. JonBenét was a lively, happy little girl in kindergarten. JonBenét’s death inspired a media frenzy, and for years afterward, JonBenét’s murder was a frequent topic in the news and tabloids. While her friends and family reported her to be a normal six-year-old with many interests, the activity that infatuated the press was the fact that JonBenét was a star in child beauty pageants. Dramatic Glamour Shots-style photographs flooded the media, and in a time before Toddlers and Tiaras, much of America found the idea shocking - including Eric Harris, who wrote about JonBenét in the “words of wisdom” section of his journal (p10424 of the 11k):

On April 20, 1999, many of the news crews that reported on the Columbine shooting actually began their day in Boulder, CO, one hour northwest of Littleton, awaiting developments in the JonBenét case. It is hard to say whether it is the lurid details of the murder that inspired so much discussion, or if people are simply fascinated by JonBenét herself.
