A list of puns related to "The Top 100 Canadian Albums"
100 sports plays from the NFL, NBA, CFL, NHL, MLS, a few european soccer leagues, golf tours, NCAA teams and even a cricket match, and not a single Canucks clip. A cricket play made the list, while the Canucks weren't featured once. I also put Canadian TSN in the headline because it's pretty clear from the rest of the list they lean heavy on all sorts of Canadian teams for their entries, but strangely not a single clip of the Canucks, or any other team from here.
No Burrows slaying the dragon in overtime in 2011, not a single clip of some prime Sedinry or even at least one of Luongo stonewalling a play in his prime while he was here.
I was expecting at least ONE back and fourth from the HOF Sedins, but nope. Nothing. At least every other Canadian NHL team was featured once and of course it being TSN, it was crammed with Raptors, Jays, Leafs and even Argos plays.
TSN hates Vancouver. Yikes.
edit #2: Downvotes are gone now. Mostly because Canucks fans here also realize this was bullshit, as it is.

I apologize for the delay, this took far more work than I anticipated but Iβve finally finished! I want to start by saying this is not a definitive list of the best jazz albums of all time. There are thousands of great jazz records out there and this is merely the collection of one groups opinions. There are records in my top five that didnβt even make the list and Iβm sure thatβs true for many. So, if youβre using this a source for discovering new material then great, thatβs a big part of why we did this. Just know that great records donβt stop here.
With that being said, letβs get onto business. There was a ton of ties. I made a thread asking about a tie-breaker and the majority of people who responded said we should not do a tie-breaker and I should leave the list as is, so that is what Iβve done.
Ties: Ties are organized by release date with the exception of albums that were released far later than the date recorded (like The Birth of Cool). In those situations, I sorted by recording date. Older records are ranked higher, but that does not mean they beat the records they tied with. I did this to emphasize the importance of earlier recordings, but really itβs just visual. Because of ties, there are really 104 albums listed instead of 100.
With 80 Contributors nearly 2,000 votes and a total of 776 album submissions, it becomes clear that our musical preferences vary greatly. These are the top 100(ish) albums we were able to come together and agree on being something special.

The issue I have with counting album scrobbles is that my actual top album of all time (though we're not seeing that chart here, just the last year) should be Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness - however, because of the various different ways I've scrobbled the album over the years (e.g. each disc having its own album page with the disc titles, or the deluxe version, or other versions), my total scrobbles are divided across more than one title in my charts. Still, I guess we have to put up with this stuff until it's easier to correct scrobbling history
(as it used to be - I loved being able to vote for corrections to album titles etc, and whoever created that method of bulk editing using a plugin back in the day was my kind of genius)
Enough people showed interest in my most recent post that I figured I would go through with it.
Please list your top 25 albums in no particular order. I'll go through and talley up each album on every persons list and rank them accordingly (up to 100) at the end of this week.
Taking from r/metal, I believe this will be the most effective way to go about voting. Up-voting and down-voting will serve no purpose so please don't down-vote lists you don't like. I'm only ranking albums based on the number of appearances they have, nothing else.
I'm also asking that everyone please go with your heart and your ears. Don't feel the need to put an album on your list just because you see it on everyone else's list, and don't feel scared to put an album just because it's by some obscure or controversial artist. Our variety in taste and opinions is what makes this sub so interesting! We need everyone to list what they truly believe to be their top 25 albums if we want an accurate list representing our our community here on r/jazz.
You may update or edit your list as many times as you would like before voting ends. I know I'll be editing mine (I just threw something together off the top of my head to serve as a model for right now). ~~I will be linking a thread where we can discuss albums and whatnot. ~~ (see second edit)
Please refrain from listing compilations! compilations are only acceptable when the work doesn't appear on a studio album (Charlie Parker, Jelly Roll Morton, Louis Armstrong, etc.)
Also, please number your list so I don't have to count that you listed 25. Please list your albums like this:
If you're having a hard time narrowing it down to 25 albums, go back and do a ton of listening. I know that's what I'll be doing. Happy voting!
Edit 1: Here is an example of how I'll be ranking them.
If Kind of Blue shows up 40 times (40 different people put it on their list) and A Love Supreme shows up 22 and Sunday at the Village vanguard shows up on 25 lists, they would be ranked like this:

... keep reading on reddit β‘1991 was the first year that Nielsen started tracking music sales data.
I find it super interesting to look at this and see how current artists stack up against artists of the past so I broke it down into a few charts.
This is a continuation of a post I made last year. I've updated for 2017 and added the top 100 list. Is this something you'd be interested in me posting annually?

What do u guys see in it. Obv itβs simple and sometimes the simple beats r the best but this isnβt rly it. This is also my opinion and Iβve never rly been a fan of wheezyβs beats. Just wanted to get it out there.
I frequently check out this article by JazzWise Magazine where they rank the top 100 jazz albums and have something to say about each one. I think it's a great resource for discovering new material and seeing where your favorite albums sit among theirs.
Because I love pointless and time consuming endeavors, I decided I would have a go at ranking my top 100 jazz albums. 1. Was 'Kind of Blue' and 2. was 'A Love Supreme' and after that there was at least twenty albums I couldn't pick between for number 3. Which would make ranking the next 97 quite the task.
That's when I got thinking my scope of jazz is quite narrow in the grand scheme of things. I have over 400 records and I'm pretty familiar with most of them but there's tons of stuff I could be neglecting.
So I figured I would ask r/jazz if people wanted to come together to make a list. We all have very different backgrounds, tastes and opinions and I think it could be very enlightening to hear why someone thinks something like Maiden Voyage is better than the Sidewinder and so on.
I would love to learn about records that people insist are masterpieces, especially when it's something I've never heard of. It could be a great way to discover new music and just talk a ton about jazz and what we dig about what.
I'm not sure about the logistics of how we're going to rank things yet, I just wanted to see if my crazy idea could go anywhere before figuring that out.
Now, I know the JazzWise Article says it can be quite square go create a definitive list of the best records and I completely agree. I just think it would be fun to have a list to reference and to learn of new great music that we complied by numerous minds aside from my own. It's all just opinions at the end of the day and maybe I'm overly ambitious right now but I think it could be worthwhile,
Edit:
Merry Christmas BM fans. Here's the 2nd part of my top 100 black metal albums - enjoy!
