This happened a few days ago and it's not anything paranormal, but I still thought it was pretty weird. I was just using my phone by myself, browsing the internet like I usually do, when heard sirens. Not like a regular police siren, but like those sirens you see in movies about the world ending. I was in the bathroom at the time so I just ignored it. I remember hearing those sirens about four times. About an hour later I'm in my room lying down on my bed when I hear the sirens again. My younger sister was in the room with me so I asked her if she heard the sirens. She said no, so i asked her if she knew about the sirens I was talking about. She said if I meant the police sirens and I said no then I just searched for the sound on YouTube. After she heard it, she told that she did not hear anything like that. I then asked my mom if she heard the sounds and she said no. I was scared that I was becoming delosional at this point. I've suffered PTSD and depression when I was elementary so I was scared something similar was happening again. I honestly don't know what to do about this incident.
Edit: I live in the valley so my town doesn't really have any drills. And nobody else in my family heard the sirens so that's why I'm confused.
This problem may be childish but it’s been putting me down for a while. It’s probably best to start when I believe the silent treatment began.
My family usually has family dinners everyday. My mom brought up that I should become a nurse so that I could take care of my parents. I have recently changed my mind on what career path I want to follow from nursing to a med tech. My whole family is aware of this. I said that I wouldn’t become a nurse just to take care of them and that I would hire a personal nurse if it ever came to the point they needed help being taken care of. My mom started ranting that their theoretical personal nurse could be a terrible person. I assured her that my sister and I would do our best that they would get the best nurse we can, but my mom still kept insisting that my sister and I take care of them. She kept pushing and saying things like “Oh, so you wouldn’t take care of us?”. Admittedly, I was annoyed and just laughingly said “No, I wouldn’t take care of you”. It was tense for a few moments but dinner resumed as normal with a few passive aggressive comments which is why I am unsure if this event was the cause.
The next morning all seemed to be fine until I noticed my mom and dad was ignoring me. Avoiding me and barely speaking to me- the whole silent treatment. And when they do talk, it’s in a very obvious aggressive tone. I have both my parents “Bye, I love you” when leaving for school (as I always do) and they just don’t respond? They just completely ignore me. Every time I have tried to talk to them, I am met with a cold shoulder. They have even stood me up at an event I have planned for some months without even a text.
This silent treatment has been going on for days and I’m honestly am tired and really hurt by it. I’m not sure if I’m just overreacting or not but I just want to resolve this whole silent treatment soon. Any advice on how I should deal with this?
Edit: My dad was the first one to initiate the conversation. He said that I have to finish my CNA clinicals (I’m currently in a CNA class but won’t be able to get my certification due to absences) and that I have to become a nurse because “his house, his rules”. I was firm in saying that I will not pursue a career I will not enjoy and that I will be a med tech. He also said that I was ruining their plans for me. The conversation was mostly me asking questions about his reasoning and him responding “Because I said so”. My mom was complacent with the whole thing.

I'm currently in the process of rebuilding my emacs setup. I'm coming from a background in spacemacs, and realised that I haven't given myself enough of a chance to see what Emacs key-bindings can do for my workflow. I use very basic one that are useful in the terminal (M-f/b, C-a/k/e is about the limit of it), but aside from that, it's all Vim/Vim-like bindings that come with spacemacs.
I realise that I might've been a bit less open-minded than I should be. So I want to hear it from you, and massive bonus if you have integrated both key-bindings into your edit/work-flow. What is it about Emacs keybindings that you find add value to your work-sessions? What misconceptions might I have about Emacs? Let it all out!
For context, here are some more specific things I have in mind. Would be awesome if you can address these directly
- I get the impression that, assuming you're in normal-mode, the SM vim-like keybindings are shorter (
C-fvsC-x f) in general. - I've swapped caps and ctrl keys. Even with this, the controll/meta leaders feel a touch awkward.
- I find myself dancing a fair bit when bringing up the commands (
spc f fto find file,spc f e dfor high-level config file). Sometimes I find it a bit much. Sometimes I enjoy it, like I'm playing a melody, but instead of sound, it's my IDE state. - It feels like which-key, and general, make for an easy way to make a smooth key-binding interface
Those are just a few things that come to mind. I would love to hear about why you have your setup, and how it works for you. I hope to learn about some things that might work for me, but I just don't know it yet!

I was going through r/DeadBedrooms and was quite impressed by the number of stories where, at a time of supposedly colourblind, post-racial/ethnical world, the poster would mention the ethnicity/nationality of the partner, as being one main factor in the issues they encounter. One recurrent pattern is a WMAF couple starting off sexually, and the AF totally shutting down after some events (moving, kids...). You could literally make a collection of those, where the husband gets blue balled for years. Some guy had a dead bedroom for 12 years (Guinness book worthy ?), and is still begging to have a child... That puts a lot of things into perspective. And it doesn't count the stories where the ethnicity of the partner is not mentioned, so the actual proportion is even bigger.
It reminded me of a comment by EurasianTiger who said that with WMAF couples in public, very often the AF walks a few meters away arms crossed. It was observational comedy gold, I've seen my parents doing it... Wouldn't it be more or less a reproduction of what happens in private ? What about the Hollywood WMAF complex, could it possibly be some chest-pumping to compensate for those stories ?
I'm not angry at people marrying out or whatever, I'm very angry at people dealing with their frustration by attacking other people that have nothing to do with their problems.
In particular, Asian boys, and sometimes unfortunately, their own Hapa children are at risk. I'm also pretty convinced that this frustration is at the origin of those toxic "master race" ideologies, or straight out attacking other people on their looks, such as this WMAF couple running a dating website which bans "ugly" people:

And the same goes with some children of WMAF couples, especially daughters, who've been raised in those toxic environments, internalized them and help them propagate this pure negativity. Their self esteem is based on the destruction of others', this is so wrong.
How can we prevent this outpouring of frustration from being a threat to the well-being of Asian boys and Hapa children ?

The next is raging big zed while Sharpshooter is trying to freeze/stun it , it's propably one of reasons why nobody plays this class , it's you who rages Fleshpound over and over again letting it slam your teammate into a bloody paste .
Taking dosh that was meant for other teammate , a teammate who just died and has their weapon stolen .
Taking ammo boxes when there is a support perk .
Welding your teammate on the other side of doors , not everyone will be lucky enough to come back .
