A list of puns related to "The Overcoat"
I first came across Uniforms For The Dedicated at the end of last year, I think on Instagram. I thought their clothes looked really cool, but it took me a while to actually purchase something.
I had been eyeing up several pieces of the last 6 months, unfortunately I missed out on several! I liked the look of the wool overcoat, and after a few questions I went ahead.
I've recently been phasing out of wearing slim fit clothes, so the baggier/boxier fit of the coat was appealing to me.
THE BRAND
I really liked the general aesthetic of this brand, but I also really appreciated their efforts in reducing the environmental impacts of over production:
From their website:
THE MEASURES WE TAKE;
Never out of style is our motto, or call it our versions of classics if you will - clothing of purposeful resilience.
We commit to continously perfect our garments with the intention that they should survive the test of time. We design in one to three years cycles rather than primarily one season at the time.
Starting fall 2020, the majority of our garments are designed to remain in collection until they sold out, and without going on sale. In such way we aim to avoid over-production.
We partner with suppliers who put value to social responsibility, offering fair wages and good working conditions for their workers.
Our assembling suppliers run the production on renewable energy.
Our garments are made of organic, recycled, and bio-based materials, which are carefully selected to embody the certain quality and durability UNIFORMS stands for.

CONSTRUCTION & FIT
I am typically a size 42/52 in outerwear - I was unsure with this due to the boxier fit, but the size 50 was sold out so I just went with my usual size.
The fabric is really interesting, and the coat is a loat lighter than I expected. It seems to me to be a coat that would be worn in more casual fits?
I really love the detailing on this, in particular the pip
