A list of puns related to "The Killera Sword"
I'm sure you've all seen the part of that new Dutch interview that talks about the EXP share. There's more: https://www.insidegamer.nl/artikel/in-gesprek-met-ohmori-en-masuda-over-pokemon-sword-en-shield/
>The missing National Dex is of course also discussed, of which we mainly want to know whether it will return in the future. Will there be an update or a third game? According to Masuda, Game Freak wants to continue the approach for Sword and Shield:
>“We now have no plans to make the pokémon that are missing in the Galar pokédex in-game available. That is an approach that we want to continue with Pokémon games in the future. Of course, up to now it has not been possible to encounter every pokémon in every game, so people had to transfer it from old games via Pokémon Bank to the new game, for example. ”
>On the one hand, that is understandable, because Masuda previously indicated that Game Freak does not have the manpower to animate all pokémon if it also wants to introduce new game play features. On the other hand, Pokémon is pretty much the largest franchise in the world and it is not unreasonable to expect a complete Pokédex from the new parts. As a compromise, however, Junichi Masuda claims that the Pokémon Home app, which will be released in 2020, will be the place to collect pokémon from all games.
>"Currently, the Pokémon Home app is under development, where players can collect their different pokémon, and only pokémon in the Galar-Pokédex can be transferred from there to Sword and Shield," he says. "But the way of playing is actually not very different from before with Pokémon Bank: until now you have always been able to meet only the pokémon of a certain region."
>He continues: “We encourage people to use Pokémon Home to collect their pokémon from old games there. From there, they might be able to take it to other games in the future. So take good care of your old pokémon, because you might be able to go out with them again in the future. ”
"So, you want to be the next Pokemon Master to beat em' all on the online "leaderboards", do you? In that case, you should familiarize yourself with the new mechanic, DYNAMAXING. Temporarily double the HP of your pokemon by making them the off-spring of Godzilla the Destroyer himself, empowering your moves to generate terrain, weather, or other stat effects. And if you want to be a part of the real big boy leagues, you might even consider using our brand new gameplay mechanic, one of 26 GIGANTAMAX FORMS which provide even further effects beyond simple weather, terrain or stat effects. But in order to obtain one of these sweet and cool new Gigantamax moves, you first have to hunt down the exact form you would like to use in competitive battle, with only a 0.175% spawn rate, giving you a true end-game or trading goal to complete now that we removed any kind of need for breeding correct IVs or battling wild pokemon for specific EVs-"
"Uh, Dave. They can't use Gigantamax in competitive."
"...What?"
"Yeah we cut that feature from competitive."
"Wait, so they can't Dynamax in competitive pokemon battles? I thought that was the entire schtick of this generation! Then what the hell am I grinding a 0.175% chance for?"
"Well yeah they can still Dynamax but we won't allow them to bring Gigantamax pokemon into competitive."
"...Bring me Reggie on the phone."
"Dave, he doesn't work for Nintendo anymo-"
"Do I look like I care?"
Edit: There is apparently Gigantamaxing in some competition alter down the line which I hope includes online ranked, but what is even the point of not allowing them right now is the question.

EDIT: there has only been speculation as to the real reason for the event cancelation. Whether there were threats or not is not clear as of yet, but I have personally not seen any proof of them other than people speculating that they happened.
Quick note: I'm just posting this since I've seen it and cannot confirm the truth of it myself. Don't shoot the messeneger and, of course as with all leaks of this nature, take with a grain of salt.

If this is true then this is super low.
Honestly Game Freak? I feel like I should say if you can't fix a importer don't make Pokemon games, but instead I'm gonna give some advice.
Admit you done goofed. Release a statement that Sword and Shield did not go as you planned. In that same statement, commit to fixing the issues in patches. We live in a day and age that patches are a common thing, and to be honest a lot of the issues with sword and shield can be fixed by doing so.
Dexit the fault of a failed importer? Commit to patching in other pokemon slowly as you fix this.
Animations are terrible because you had to redo them in a rush? Take some time to fix them then patch.
Had to cut moves because rushed? Patch.
Most of the things people are pissed at you about can be fixed by comitting to patching them at a later date. Hell, most people would understand since Game Freak is a tiny team.
EDIT: Now with link to the post itself for those asking for the timestamps: https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/comments/duhpu7/game_freak_said_that_the_decision_of_removing_the/f77grdr/
EDIT 2: The person who posted that info has requested that you look at the comments and edits in the first edit link, and to look at this post for context: https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/comments/cgh8fy/long_post_warning_an_actual_technical_analysis_of/
I'm just kinda posting this since they asked for you to do so.
Triforce
So I speculate that the sword director knows something or is influencing what is happening in west view considering that he wants to put all the blame on Wanda and try to dodge his way out of it magnet to cover his own tracks
Excali-buuurrrrr
Update #2: saw something on /vp/ about the issue but I won't link cuz 4chan. Someone says they ran a Bluetooth diagnostic and claims the Switch is trying to pair to the Roku (that's how the Roku remotes work). Not sure how much sense that makes with Airplane Mode as I am not home to test. I am posting this here for the benefit of the Roku devs who may be following the trail to fix it and can't find it in the netcode. Still the same issue, the Roku is getting signals from the Switch that are crashing it.
Update: so my wife did the Wireshark analysis. She doesn't want to share any data about the network (and I agree), but suffice to say at some point the Switch begins spamming some sort of proprietary action that one can assume is it's attempt to find other Switches playing Pokemon. At that point the Roku that's crashing (this is a Stick HD, we have two Stick+ 4K that aren't crashing) stops talking to the network and enters the boot loop. It seems the Roku is listening to the packet and FUBARs because the packet is proprietary, may look familiar, and tries to read it. Roku appears to be aware of the issue and has stated that select Roku devices are affected. I would say this is Roku's issue for not handling poor packet processing, because it doesn't seem to rejoin the network after crashing. However the Switch is spamming that probing call across the network.
Original: Posted for visibility, hopefully someone can get GameFreak or Nintendo to look into it.
So last night, the Rokus in the house began acting up. Looked on Twitter, some others were having the issue with Roku TVs and the like. Theory was was that Roku pushed an update and bricked people's devices.
This morning, the Roku was working again. Then stopped.
Then I found this and the guy's solution, which was to put the Nintendo Switch in Airplane Mode while playing Pokemon.
Last night, my wife began playing her copy and had just started playing again when I began using the Roku that morning. I power cycled the Roku to no avail. Then I decided to try the guy's fix, as ludicrous as it sounds (my wife and I both have backgrounds in software development, so it sounded possible but unlikely).
I had my wife put her Switch in airplane mode and power cycled the Roku. Booted up first time, has remained stable all day. No update
... keep reading on reddit ➡Just an FYI it is possible. I used their live support chat, explained why I was upset with the misleading promotion for the game (cut so many Pokemon). The agent said she would forward it onto management where they would decide. And then I got this email today: Screenshot
So they are aware of our annoyances and will refund preorders.
Edit: This was Nintendo of America
It looks like this morning the server was cleaned out and now there might be a new one.

Hey everybody! Tim from iChooseYou here, and I'm doing another giveaway.
Sword & Shield has dropped, so to mark the occasion I'm giving away one the SwSh Red ETBs.
Shameless plug: (channels inner Ron Swanson) Attention everyone! I run a business that sells Pokemon cards. The website for that business is www.ichooseyou.cards. You're free to visit the site or not; that is your right as a member of a capitalist society. If you do, you can use the coupon REDDIT5 for $5 off $50 or more. Either way, you're free to enter the contest. End of speech.
(Unrelated: I'm unboxing a SwSh booster box on my twitch tomorrow night (more details on my insta. I always give away one pack from the box, so come hang out and watch me awkwardly open booster packs. :D)
Typically I get a team of six rolling and stick with that team for the whole game. I'll swap a few out here and there but usually 5 of the slots are "set" and I bring in a type advantage to each battle.
Now, with access to the Box Link, the wild area and exp share making it less of a grind I find myself playing with all six slots. Carrying around one or two high levels to train up a team specific for each gym.
I've been playing with a larger variety of Pokemon than ever, and it's not too time consuming or grind oriented.
I'm really enjoying playing this game a big differently than I have in the past. I definitely credit the Box Link for a big part of that.
I know a lot of people aren't happy with the game, but I'm having a blast with it.
Edit: Yes, I know that the Box Link isn't new to the franchise.
Edit 2: I never said the game was perfect or that you should like the game for the reasons in my post. I said I was enjoying it for the reasons in my post. I get that it was a big disappointment for many fans and that sucks.
Also, I agree EXP Share should be optional.
