While fronting the latest round of rental standard requirements, Minister Twyford is making frequent references to 6000 children each year being admitted to hospitals for housing-sensitive health problems. He seems to imply all live in a rental home. Whereas the evidence? Details below...(NZ HERALD)

[Standard] need help refining Storm Herald combo for competitive play

Looking for combo decks in Standard, I came across this very cool and viable combo:

https://blog.blacklotusgo.com/grixis-storm-herald-in-standard-instant-win-combo-deck/

The basic idea is to self-mill with [[Sage of Mysteries]], put Auras and creatures in the graveyard, and win with [[Gruesome Menagerie]] generating the following loop:

Target [[Sage of Mysteries]] or [[Hateful Eidolon]], [[Thassa's Oracle]] and [[Storm Herald]]

IMPORTANT - stack the triggers so Thassa's Oracle resolves last

Storm Herald should return at least one [[Kaya's Ghostform]] and one [[Mire's Grasp]] or [[Dead Weight]], so it comes into play, triggers more mill / draw, dies, and returns with Kaya's Ghostform.

Ideally you should be able to chain this into milling all or most of your library, and when Thassa's Oracle's trigger resolves, you win.

I found a Sultai shell better than a Grixis Shell, because you gain [[Nessian Wanderer]] which is amazing, and Uro is also a great card that gives sustain, ramp and can be usually returned once to stall the game against aggro or midrange (removing lands and non-combo creatures, ideally not combo enchantments). This means Storm's Herald has to be in the GY, so either milled or discarded to Thirst for Meaning or Chemister's Insight.

I've been playtesting a bit on MTG Arena (Platinum 4) and I found that the core list is AMAZING against any kind of creature-based aggro, but unsurprisingly struggles mightily against control, and I had trouble against Ramp - they resolved a Nissa and I wasn't fast enough to kill them before they played Finale or Forerruners.

My (almost) current list is:

//Creatures (18):

1 Lazav, the Multifarious

1 Merfolk Secretkeeper

4 Sage of Mysteries

1 Hateful Eidolon

2 Thassa's Oracle

2 Storm Herald

3 Nessian Wanderer

1 Setessan Champion

3 Uro, Titan of Nature's Wrath

//Planeswalkers (1):

1 Tamiyo, Collector of Tales

//Non-creature Spells (18):

2 Chemister's Insight

3 Gruesome Menagerie

1 Thought Erasure

3 Kaya's Ghostform

3 Mire's Grasp

1 Thirst for Meaning

2 Mogis's Favor

1 Setessan Training

1 Dead Weight

//Lands (22):

4 Overgrown Tomb

1 Steam Vents

4 Watery Grave

4 Breeding Pool

2 Temple of Mystery

1 Castle Locthwain

1 Castle Vantress

2 Temple of Deceit

1 Island

1 Swamp

1 Forest

//Sideboard (15):

3 Dead Weight

2 Thought Erasure

1 Hydroid K
