A list of puns related to "The Game Awards 2018"
The Game Awards is one of the most prestigious videogame award shows in the industry. League of Legends or related individuals were nominated in several esports-categories.
Winners:
Nominated but didn't win:
The full nomination and winners list of both esports and traditional categories can be found here: https://thegameawards.com/awards/
Edit 1: Added a category that I forgot.
Edit 2: I had hoped that this thread could be about celebrating the awards that LoL esports won, not complaining about the one it didn't.
Congratulations to the developers of this amazing game!

Season's greetings /r/XboxOne & Welcome to the Red Dead Redemption 2 of the year awar..... uhhhh..... I mean Game of the Year awards!
Thank you, everyone, for such an amazing turnout of voters yet again this year! Voter turnout was a little lower this year, as is to be expected with the google account requirement, but I think we can consider these results far more accurate. The final tally was a grand total of 2,454 respondents!
##A big thanks to all of you who took the time to fill out the survey.
On with the show!! As always - The votes have been counted correctly, altered based on my own personal bias and edited to reflect the juicy bribes I received in untraceable bitcoin and anime hug pillows.
Each winner has been given a prestigious and totally not imaginary /r/XboxOne exclusive "award", and are celebrated below.
As a heads up - By their very nature, these awards will contain mild spoilers. You have been warned
BEST SHOOTER #Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Wow! CoD is back with a redemption arc that would make a shonen protagonist blush! This was actually the closest the awards for best shooter have ever been, with the total votes for the top three coming in at; 643 for COD, 580 for Battlefield V and 570 for Far Cry 5! DANGER CLOSE!
BEST RPG #Assassins Creed: Odyssey I only had to change 6 letters between this year & last years winners. Despite seriously solid competition from Monster Hunter World & Divinity Original Sin 2 - The huge open world, refined RPG mechanics and awesome gameplay on display here made it only fitting that this Greek epic was democratically elected as this year's winner.
BEST ACTION/ADVENTURE #Red Dead Redemption 2 "Hello sir, do you have a moment to talk about our lord and saviour Red Dead Redemption 2?" - Average /r/xboxone voter.
Rockstar's latest narrative-driven, open world western rolled up on the rest of the nominees like a highway bandit and robbed em for all they were worth. I get the sneakin suspicion this won't be the last we hear of Rockstar's magnum opus this year...
BEST SOUNDTRACK #Red Dead Redemption 2 Did I speak too soon? There was actually some healthy competition this time, from Forza Horizon 4 and Nier Automata, but it wasn't enough to even put a dent in the juggernaut that is RDR2. It's epic wild west tunes & haunting lyrical numbers were not the sounds of your typical spaghetti western. Rockstar took some serious risks here and it paid off

.... Sorry. I promise never to do that again.
Seriously though - It's that time of the year again! For the fifth time running, we call upon you to cast aside objectivity, reason and the opinions of absolutely everyone else as you unleash your inner fanboy & vote for that one game you like in every single category it appears in, even if it doesn't really belong there!
As always, the winner shall be declared the 2018 reddit Xbox One game of the year! (One week from now!)
The "official" awards have already come and gone - But remember that this is the organisation who never gave the greatest game of all time, Pool Nation FX, its due.
#Here are links to the previous years:
###2014 - Sunset Overdrive ###2015 - The Witcher 3 ###2016 - Overwatch
###2017 - Assassins Creed: Origins
#How to vote for this year:
Simple! - Just follow the link below, and fill out the survey to register your opinion.
###CLICK HERE TO VOTE FOR THE /R/XBOXONE 2018 GOTY AWARDS
Remember that we will be reading all the entrants in the "other" category, so those votes count too! Your opinion is the only valid one there is, and everyone else is wrong. We understand this and will do our best to make sure the truth comes to light.
^Also ^due ^to ^a ^large ^number ^of ^naughty ^bois ^last ^year ^attempting ^to ^game ^the ^system ^with ^fake ^votes ^you ^will ^need ^to ^be ^signed ^into ^a ^google ^account ^to ^vote. ^Sorry.
Well deserved. Congratulations to the Dev team behind this magnificent game!
EDIT: Nah fuck this Golden Joysticks award, Fortnite won the Ultimate GOTY award, they straight up disrespected MHW, GoW, Spider-Man and RDR2
So I was curious to see and did a fast search and saw this
So some of this makes sense but if you could see the nominees like in 2004 there was Half Life 2 and stuff
what do you think about this year? I hope Sekiro wins
I think we might hear the classic "So you want to hear another story?" line by Marcus but, Gearbox might surprise us with something unexpected starting the trailer.
It's the biggest announcement lineup in history and the last event of the year. It's show time bois.
Ed Boon has some close ties to the Game Awards and they are supposed to have the biggest game reveal list theyβve ever had. Ed Boon even showed up to 2017 Game Awards when they announced Injustice 2 as game of the year. I just wonder if thereβs any evidence of whoβs games are being unveiled and whether or not you guys agree ?
So The Game Awards 2018 is less than a week away and Geoff Knightley is teasing hard on Twitter many of the possible announcements we could get at the awards. I suggest we should predict what we could eventually get at the awards in this thread:

Here's a link to the game, and you should be able to nominate Garfield Kart on the same page. It's time to cement Garfield Kart in gaming history the way it deserves.
Hey guys! This will be broken up into two sections. First, weβll have some wrapup notes from hosts + shadows, and below that, weβll have awards!
Penultima: I absolutely love Halloween and everything horror. Most of the movies I watch are horror movies (or documentaries), so when I heard that there was an opening for October, I jumped on it. In order to work with the last-minute putting the game together (in only 2.5 weeks!) we decided to have basic mechanics, a stripped down set of roles, and focus on flavor and storytelling (more on that in funkimonβs section). I wanted the game to not be based around a specific fandom- I think those games can be a lot of fun for people passionate about those fandoms, but can really drive people away if theyβre not super into it. The problem is that once youβve decided not to go with a fandom- what do you do? Horror is such a niche genre in the first place because what scares one person bores another. Maybe one person is terrified by ghosts and the paranormal, and another is freaked out by gorey slasher flicks. We ultimately settled on getting a measure of what freaks all of our players out, and specifically tailoring their deaths to what scares them, which was fantastic and worked out so well (spludgie has more on that below).
Especially because we had less than a month to put it all together and balance it, we wanted to avoid including too many roles. We decided on a couple of staples, and deviating from a trend in some recent games, chose to not give special one-use powers or items to townspeople. However, we were concerned that having a game with a large number of townspeople who have no ability other than voting (especially after so many games where townspeople are given lots of abilities) would lead to a silent town that felt powerless. We wanted to give them a little bit more than that. Personally, I tend to prefer games with slightly smaller wolf teams. I find that the town grows more paranoid as they keep failing to find wolves, and the wolves are kept on their toes because they donβt have as much wiggle room. This meant that the town had to be kept in check, and we needed to provide some measure of cover to the wolves. This came in two forms- fallible seer results and the medical exam. We included the hidden darkness role and the hermit so that way there was at least a chance that an innocent person could come up as evil and that an evil person could come up as innocent. The town would need to consid
