A list of puns related to "The Education Of Charlie Banks"
I've had this film on my to-watch list for about 10 years now, and finally watching this was like cracking a vintage bottle of wine.
Maybe it's because I had low expectations, maybe it's because I strongly dislike Jesse Eisenberg's acting skills, but very oddly enough, I actually enjoyed the film. It's an interesting take on coming-of-age drama, and while I thought it might be long and boring, I found no useless scenes whatsoever. The early 80's setting and the shooting locations in Manhattan and upstate NY definitely enhanced the feel of the movie. The characters are interesting to follow from the start to the end, and Eisenberg's performance was actually impressive. It's far from being perfect, as there were some loose ends here and there, but overall, I thought that it was time well spent.
According to Wikipedia, the movie had a $5 million production budget, but only grossed just over $15k. The Rotten Tomatoes also took a serious hit on it with 45-47% rating.
I feel like the main reason the film got a lot of negative feedback is because it was directed by Fred Durst (Limp Bizkit). I also feel that it has gained some credibility over the years. I personally find it quite underrated, and was wondering if anyone here would be willing to share their opinions on it.

Look, people have to buy tickets to this movie, too. This movie has to make money,โ she says, plainly.
โIf this movie doesnโt make money it reinforces a stereotype in Hollywood that men donโt go see women do action movies.โ
"Theyโll go and see a comic book movie with Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel because thatโs a male genre. So even though those are movies about women, they put them in the context of feeding the larger comic book world, so itโs all about, yes, youโre watching aย Wonder Womanย movie but weโre setting up three other characters or weโre setting upย Justice League โ
She pauses, as if sheโs said too much. By the way, Iโm happy for those characters to have box office success, but we need more womenโs voices supported with money because thatโs the power. The power is in the money
