A list of puns related to "The Dice Tower"
I made it out of walnut and ash. I had some leftovers so I cut some custom dice to match the tower. https://i.imgur.com/PVd0jzc.jpg
I'm just going to leave this here...

Seriously, I don't get it. They seem to be so popular and I can't for the life of me figure out their appeal. Is it so hard to roll dice on the table or in a tray? What's the deal??
I believe when I was watching the Dice Tower's top 100 this year Tom mentioned that there were only 5 games that were in the top 30 that have been there since the list creation 9 years ago.
Is that the case? And if so does anyone know which 5 games they are?
Hello /r/3Dprinting! As stated above, I am new to 3D printing, and I want to ensure that I am not wasting filament by over-reinforcing the structure when a thinner wall would work just as well. I did some quick math and estimated the dice tower to be approximately 786 grams, which would cost around $196.00! That seems super expensive to me, so if you are able to suggest anywhere where I have added too much filament, that would be greatly appreciated. Linked at the bottom is the .STL file.
Thank you very much!

I've started to collect dice and now understand the point of dice trays and cool boxes as well. However, I really don't get the purpose of dice towers. Isn't throwing the dice yourself part of the fun? Using a dice tower doesn't make it quicker or more random. Unless you make a really big one it doesn't seem practical for rolling multiple dice at once either. Is it just for bragging rights or am I missing something?
#The problem with outpost:
Now when a tower is built, few players stick around to fully upgrade it, which leads to packs of players going around the map destroying and building towers, rince, repeat. It feels like chicken running around headless.
Now the problem this makes is that when you're one or two players sticking around to upgrade, at the same time there is a pack of enemy players 8 strong heading to your tower, the next thing you know you're outnumbered. From personal experience, this is always the case when I try to upgrade a tower. Those 8 players have just built a tower to Level 1 and didn't stick around to fully upgrade it (there is no tangible incentive).
#Proposed solution:
Create an instant tangible incentive (we call this in UX design "Instant gratification") The current state of things is that if you fully upgrade a tower, you don't see and feel the advantage (you earn reinforcements but it's not as tangible as being able to spawn on the tower).
Allow players to spawn on fully upgraded towers to encourage fair CQ fighting because players will have an incentive to stick around and defend the tower. At the same time, when players spawn on towers, they'd be more dispersed and would spawn on towers closest to enemy towers. This would change the dynamic of movement around the map from clusters of players running together towards the same tower (and only 1 will get the reward of blowing it up) to a more high stakes dynamic where a small squad of players attack a tower and could probably run against another squad doing the same.
I am sure if DICE looked at their heatmaps and telemetry data, they would see clusters running around instead of a steady flow of smaller groups dispersed around the map and fighting on multiple areas at the same time.
How does this affect the price of Wingspan?

This is a great video. A lot of interesting points and a lot of reasons is why I prefer board game over videogames
