A list of puns related to "The Cook Family Singers"
I'm trying to get the feeling of home and family through cooking which is hard when you don't have any dished that remind you of good times. Thought this might be a nice way to learn about other people's family favs and learns a little something about your family or who inspired/created the dish. β€οΈ Little wholesome food post
Okay so I live with family members who are all omni and for the most part are respectful and try to be accommodating but I ofc end up making a lot of my own food which Iβm totally fine with. The thing that drives me up the frickin wall is that when I cook a meal for the the family they always add meat or dairy to their plate. Like tonight I made a really nice vegetable and bean soup and brown rice (beans and rice so itβs a complete protein) and then my uncle literally calls out as heβs getting his bowl, βIβm adding ham to mine.β Whyβ¦ just why?! You seriously canβt have one meal that doesnβt contain an animal product? And especially after I try really hard when I cook to make hearty meals where you shouldnβt even miss the meat. And on top of it you have to announce it and put the ham in right in front of me as though that wouldnβt bother/offend me who just spent hours making a vegan meal for everyone. Iβm sorry Iβm probably being a bit dramatic and overly sensitive but that really triggered me tonight.
This is probably the hardest question to answer as theyβre all just so good and all of their songs are amazing
New US host here. We usually cook twice a week before hosting an Aupair. Now that she's here, I'm quite surprised by how much she eats, but I understand and happy to absorb the cost. My concern is that we now have to cook every day and that's a lot more works (grocery shopping, cleaning, cooking). Would it be fair to ask the Aupair to cook, maybe 2-3 days/week? Also in the room and board agreement, does "board" mean a complete meal, or would providing ingredients be enough? Or, do we have to go as far as separating our food and she has to cook for herself (but that would ruin the relationship)?
I am going to tell you about everything I have in my kitchen and the three dishes I will eat, and you tell me what to cook.

My family is a bunch of incredibly picky eaters. I would appreciate any recipes, but if I have any questions you have to come over to cook them for me.
P.S. You better bring some goddam groceries.
What the title says. It was fantastic and we ate it all.
Basically what the title says. I stay home with baby, husband works. He occasionally makes meals for the baby if Iβm asleep or sick (or ask him to) and mostly will fend for himself and make his own meals. I do 100% of grocery and meal planning except for when he cooks as mentioned above, and in pre Covid times he used to run to the grocery store (for me with my list).
But to those who have similar cooking duties as myself, does your spouse come home and expect you to cook dinner for them every night? And if not cook, do they expect you to plan their dinner (order pizza, you can eat leftovers, you could eat a frozen pizza, etc), or do they take 100% responsibility of what theyβll eat?
Additional question, if you were having a bad mental health day and struggled through taking care of the baby all day (and completely neglected yourself all day), and told your spouse youβre having a bad mental health day and donβt feel like cooking dinner, how would your spouse respond? Iβm not even going to give examples because I donβt want to sway anyway, I genuinely would like to know.
Thank you in advance. This has been weighing very heavy on my heart lately.
Edit 6 hrs after posting: thank you so much for every single response! I wish I could respond to every single comment but ya know, Iβm a SAHP, no time π I joke. Thanks for the insight honestly though. My husband and I are trying to still get into the groove of things and seeing how real people make it work is invaluable.
Have a good night everyone and thanks again!
