A list of puns related to "The Casino Murder Case"
Hello, I'm sorry if this is not the space for this but I was wondering if anyone knew the episode/case, where a wealthy lonely asian man was murdered by a female casino employee, who he was seeing. I believe she shot him while he was sleeping. I remember seeing this episode years back, found it later on but now lost it. This is a long shot but if anyone knows than please let me know.
Thank you
If you look at this case without any emotion (tough for ne to do) just look at what the DA can prove. Both Lori & Chad haven't turned on the other which I'm sure if they had any intention of they would have done it by now. Saying nothing makes it near impossible to prove who killed the kids. Yes they got buried on Chad's property. He can be convicted of the charges he faces now. That's 5 years max in jail. All roads lead to Alex Cox being the killer. His death means they can blame Cox yes Chad helped but unless some miracle happens I'm concerned Lori will walk away with the bare minimum sentence. I'm no legal expert it's seems if The DA was going to file murder charges it would have been done by now. I hope justice is served for these kids being murdered.
Iβve been trying to remember a certain case that I think happened in the 1980s. I donβt remember much other than every year on the victims birthday, or on the anniversary of the kids death, the killer would call the parents and play the victims favorite song through the phone to them. It went on for years until he was finally caught, but it always struck me as extremely creepy, especially since I vaguely remember what the song sounded like.
Sorry if this isnβt much, but itβs all I remember π
Hi, everyone. Back in December of 2018 I posted on this subreddit about this long time Jane Doe and murder case from Spain being finally solved. Her alleged murdered was arrested but, since the statute of limitation in Spain dictaminates that murder expires after 20 years, he was released. I posted a follow-up with more details a few days later and then, in December of 2019 (a year after the original post) I posted about it again here after learning that the prosecution had managed to bring the presumed murderer to trial.
Now, after more than a year without news about the trial process (likely slowed down because of Covid-19) finally some news emerged. Unfortunately, the court ruled in favor of the defense, stating that the statute of limitations prevails in this case; even though he's been deemed guilty of the murder of Mari Carmen Fraile, Manuel Macarro won't spend a single day in prison.
I've translated the original news article, here's my translation (with a few notes with further info);

Barcelona's court hearing has agreed that the murder case of a woman at Sant Salvador de Guardiola (Barcelona) in the 1980's has expired. The events go back to 1981 after the disappearance of a 25-years old pregnant young woman, MarΓa del Carmen Fraile, whose remains were wrapped in a blanket and buried at a private property of this municipality in Bager.
The body was found in 1999 in the property's backyard, when the current owners were planting a tree. In 2004 the case was dismissed, since the remains could not be identified and there was nobody to be charged with the crime. However, in 2017 the case was reopened by request of the police after performing new DNA tests on the remains and eventually an arrest warrant to apprehend a man was issued in 2018., who was at the time the lover of the missing woman. This man, now around 7

"Nevada disclosed 1,099 new cases, double its previous high."
At the height of the pandemic for New York, in the second half of March, they were averaging about 9k cases a day. New York has a population of 19.4M people, meaning roughly 1 new case every day for every 2,160 people in New York in March. Nevada, with 3M people, set a record for themselves of 1 new case for every 2,700 people. And the numbers in Nevada are increasing fast. Nevada could pass New York's worst day in per capita terms in a week.
I just can't see the casinos there remaining open, and even if they do stay open, no one will want to visit from out of state.
EDIT: Turns out the overly big jump on June 26 was due to data from lab reports dated 23 and 24 June being included in the 26 June total. However, the brand-new numbers reported for today, June 27th are likely a new record even though weekends are usually lower numbers.

"After a review of the case data, it was determined the increase in reports was due to a delay in laboratory reporting. More than 240 of the cases reported were from laboratory reports dated June 23, and more than 380 were from reports dated June 24."
Original data from: https://nvhealthresponse.nv.gov/
19-Jun : 445
20-Jun : 274
21-Jun : 330
22-Jun : 462
23-Jun : 355
24-Jun : 507
25-Jun : 381
26-Jun : 1099
27-Jun : 821
I manually adjusted the data, assuming a 1-day offset between lab report date and the date the info is reported by the state (moving 240 and 380 cases from June 26th to the 24th and 25th, respectively):
19-Jun : 445
20-Jun : 274
21-Jun : 330
22-Jun : 462
23-Jun : 355
24-Jun : 747

Money is having an awful sway when it comes to this pandemic. Lives are at risk.
Bill Coulthard was a respected attorney in Las Vegas. He had served as the first resident FBI agent to Las Vegas in the 1940's, then as president of the Nevada State Bar and as a legislator in the Nevada Assembly. Further, through marriage he had obtained an interest in several real estate holdings across the city.
On July 25, 1972, Coulthard got into his Cadillac on the third-floor parking garage of the Bank of Nevada Building in downtown Las Vegas. When he turned his key in the ignition, a powerful bomb attached to the vehicle detonated, killing Coulthard instantly.
A key suspect in the bombing was Benny Binion, the owner of the Horseshoe Casino in downtown Vegas. Binion had developed a reputation as a ruthless gangster when he ran the gambling rackets in Dallas before heading west to Nevada. The alleged motive was Coulthard's refusal to renew the lease for the land on which the Horseshoe Casino was situated. After the bombing, the new owners of Coulthard's shares agreed to renew Binion's lease for another 100 years.
Las Vegas police suspected a father-son hitman team associated with Binion had been the ones to plant the bomb at Binion's direction. And while associates of the hitmen later reported they had confessed to the attack, no arrests were ever made for the Coulthard murder.

In the footage we see a stocky figure, with a strange gait hobbling about empty corridors. The figure checks the occasional door - seemingly testing if it's locked, takes a disinterested look in the room and continues on meandering through corridors. And perhaps strangest of all, this figure is wearing a police SWAT style outfit. But even on the reasonable quality CCTV footage something isn't quite right - the outfit, it looks fake - maybe fake is the wrong word, 'amateurish' might be a better description - this just does not look like a real police officer, despite the word POLICE emblazoned on front and back of their jacket. And the figure is carrying a some kind of tool, that could be a claw hammer, and later in the footage uses it to smash something, just out of shot of the camera. Less than an hour later a woman is found murdered.
Of course, even those with a passing interest in true crime would recognise this as a description of the events preceding the murder of Terri 'Missy' Bevers, or failing that the title of the post might have given it away. The footage can be seen here. It's just over 2 minutes long, many will have seen the video - if you have not, it should be clear the footage shows the moments prior to a murder and though nothing explicit is shown, given the context, viewer discretion is advised.
With the 4th anniversary of the crime recently passed, it remains an enduring mystery. It's one of the crimes I periodically google to see if there is an update and there appears no developments of note since April 2019 when police announced their continued determination to find the person responsible. It's also a subject that is quite often discussed so I'll keep the summary brief.
SUMMARY OF EVENTS
Terri 'Missy' Bevers woke at around 3:30am and got ready for the fitness class she taught. The class was due to begin at 5am and was held in a location familiar to Missy and her students - Creekside Church in Midlothian, Texas - around 25 miles southwest of Dallas. The night previous she had posted a motivational message on Facebook, "If it's raining, we're still training". Any number of people would know when and where Missy was to g

Case: Duane Ewers, a retired anesthesiologist from Southern California and avid hiker, traveled to Mount Charleston to hike to the summit with the suspect. Ewers and the suspect were seen hiking the trail after dark. Witnesses reported hearing gunshots at approximately 1:00 a.m. Several people saw the suspect before and after the murder. The suspect tried to drag Ewers into the wooded area near the trail, because of the loose footing the suspect abandoned his efforts and fled. Ewers vehicle was reported missing from the parking area at the trail head. The vehicle was recovered several months later in the parking garage at the Treasure Island Hotel.
According to the cold case site. None of Ewers' family or friends knew who he was with during this outing. The attached drawing is a composite made from witness descriptions.
It appears we have an older retired man seen hiking with a younger man near 30 years old. Some people may have even thought they were father and son. I can't find a picture of the victim as of yet. Why were these two together? The case file states that the family/friends didn't know who this person was. Is this a guy that Duane befriended and saw as a trusted friend to go on adventures with and he decided to not let anyone else know about him? Another theory is that Duane met him somewhere on his way to hike. The suspect used the hike as a way to get Duane alone. He brought the gun only to kill Duane and then maybe still all his valuables/car? Why would this guy be willing to let everyone see his face? There's not many articles about this car online. He way a retired doctor the article does not mention a wife or children.
