A list of puns related to "The Breakup Playlist"
Rejection got you feeling down? Let it all out with the A2C Breakup Playlist. Post your own below.
Teardrops on My Guitar by Sailor Twift
"Cornell's the reason for the teardrops on my guitar
The only thing that keeps me visiting Ithaca, NY
It's the letter in my portal I keep checking, don't know why I do."
Someone Like WashU by Adele Dazeem, ft. John Travolta
"I heard that you sent them out
That you built a class and it's final now
I heard the pool was deep, it's true
I guess they showed you things
My app couldn't do for you
Old friend, why're you ranked so high?
Ain't like holistically
I wasn't worth a try.
I hate to turn up off the waitlist uninvited
But I couldn't stay away, I couldn't fight it
I hoped you read my LOCI and somehow be reminded
That for me, you were my dream school.
Never mind I'll find someone like WashU
I wish nothing but the best for St. Lou too
Don't reject me, I begged. I remember you said
Sometimes there's apps we love and sometimes there's yours instead."
Bonus: In Kelly Clarkson's "Since You Been Gone", you can swap "you been" with "UPenn" quite seamlessly.
My sister just broke up with her boyfriend and started getting into the band all in the same week. Wanted some help putting together an Avett Brothers breakup playlist for her.
Hi r/ariheads, I know this is off-topic but I really like this sub's community and of course, we all have something in common - we love Ari's music. Well I unfortunately just had to end my 5 year relationship with my fiancΓ© and I'm devastated. I was hoping someone could curate a playlist for me that doesn't have very many sad songs, but songs that are more empowering like a "you fucked up and lost the best thing going for you" kinda vibe. Of course, Ariana's songs would be great to have on there but she definitely does not need to be the only artist. I'm more into pop, rap/hip-hop and r&b, and some indie/alternative (definitely no country unless it's mainstream/upbeat like old TSwift or Carrie Underwood's "Before He Cheats").
I know I could make one myself but I'm in too much emotional pain at the moment and would love to possibly find some great songs that I haven't heard yet.
I have spotify, so you can link down below or I guess even recommendations would be nice if you don't have a spotify.
Please help a sad, pissed-off girl out :( thanksπ
Hi,
I'm still healing from my first poly breakup- my first breakup in 20 years. It was toxic, heartbreaking & involving mental illness on his part. Sad, sad, sad, but I'm trying to forgive myself for my part, and to find joy again. I'm actually in my 40's with sophisticated taste in music, but the young pop stars seem to be helping a whole lot. Here are a few of my favorites for cheering me up lately. I'm looking for humorous or healing songs. Any suggestions?
Here are some I'm listening to now. Please add yours!
playlist with sad and encouraging songs to get over breakups
Hello friends!
I compiled a list of songs to help getting over an ex (serious, fling, FWB, casual, crush, doesn't matter). Feel free to listen if you feel inclined to (you may or may not like the artists haha) and hopefully you'll feel great.
Enjoy your holidays!

Most breakup playlists I found were too βpop-yβ so I made my own. It starts in a wallow of sadness then transitions to some pop that you can sing/identify with. Itβs pretty eclectic but I hope it helps someone out there. Stay strong.

It's been almost 2 years. Some days, i just need happy music to lift the mood.
I'm looking for more songs to add to my breakup playlist. I'm looking for upbeat moving on kind of songs. So far I have:
3am (pull up) - Charlie xcx
Idgaf - dua lipa
Ugly heart - g.r.l
Shout out to my ex - little mix
New rules - dua lipa
You're such a - hailee steinfield
Changing of the seasons - two door cinema club
Gotta power through nc. Got to believe I'm worthy of someone who wants me. Please share any positive breakup songs :) any genre! The ones I've shared are very pop-y but I enjoy a lot of genres. i find this playlist really helps me!
Edit: It's not right but it's okay - Whitney Houston
In this thread post songs that go along with the theme. This weeks theme is songs about breakups. This could be anything: sad breakups, more triumphant "I'm over you" songs, let's get back together songs, etc so post away!
Hey so I recently got dumped by this girl who "Put my heart through a bloody blenda!" If you get the reference props to you. Anyway I am in need of a playlist that is guy empowering, like fuck it I will be alright, and I'm better anyway music. All I can find is single ladies by Beyonce and that unfortunately is not going to cut it.
I call it my Trail Mix
I'm not sure if i'm asd/adhd but i very strongly suspect so. I can strongly relate to adhd symptoms and also, the point of this post, RSD. I was wondering if anyone else goes through the stuff I do and if they've found a way to cope. I'm in my late twenties, still struggling to cope with a friendship breakup from getting close to a year ago. I get a lot of physical symptoms and nightmares.
it's been this way with every traumatic friendship breakup i've had; and i literally take 5-10years to even partially get better from each one. I value people really strongly and try to go out of my way to "fix" things and I get hyperfocussed on trying to make things better or communicate better, which doesn't work.
Or I try to explain my emotions but it invariably makes thing worse with certain types of people because either the timing is off or they misinterpret me trying to explain how I feel as a guilt trip, which is never how it's intended; or they don't believe or are frightened by my feelings. I've learnt to some extent having to hide certain feelings with certain people, but it is never sustainable for me as it feel super inauthentic.
Finding the rare gem of a person who takes the time to understand me has helped, but still I end up interested in people who don't want to take the time to understand and end up rejecting me after we've already become friends and bonded with them in some way. I don't know honestly how many more of these breakups I can take.
