A list of puns related to "The Borrowers Afloat"
Holy shit I can't express how much I fucking despise Star Wars. The whole pile of shit itself is full of cliches and boring scenes that people somehow enjoy.
How in the hell do people collect stuff for Star Wars? There is so little to be interested about. They needed a collaboration with Fortnite to stay alive and relevant; the recent films were terrible and Star Wars was terrible from the beginning.
Bread, pastries, or pasta from local bakeries. Meat from local butcher shops. Stores like Berkeley Bowl are doing delivery. Consider getting delivery from local restaurants if itβs in your budget. These are dire times for small businesses.
Boss is also currently at home.
Some quick answers to common questions:
-No I don't still l do it
-No I'm not accepting any offers or sharing any pictures
-Yes I'm in a better place now financially and mentally
-No I didn't have any children (THANK GOD)
If the economy starts to slide into a recession, small businesses will be hit hard. According to the Huffington Post, more than 170,000 closed between 2008-2010. To that end, I think it would be very helpful if the folks here at /r/smallbusiness discussed what strategies they might use to stay afloat and profitable if the economy starts to slide into another recession. CNN posted a good article that outlined some of the signs that could indicate a recession is on the horizon. Being ready and understanding the stakes could be the difference in keeping your small business alive.
Full disclosure: My organization (Small Business Majority) helped put Clifton Broumand in contact with CNN to be interviewed for this article.
In addition to the obvious emotional stress and suffering it would cause, employees getting fired and businesses closing during the epidemic would be a problem because it would require wasting resources on opening new businesses to replace the old ones and training new employees. Is giving people/businesses money enough to make up for the reality that fewer goods/services are currently being produced?
This will surely be challenged as the policy isn't part of any regulations. https://www.politico.com/news/2019/12/06/devos-student-loan-relief-077539
So, I've been in Coorparoo about a year and a half now, and honestly, I've totally fallen in love with the area. I love the convenience of the Eat Street Laneway and the surrounding shops, and I go there to eat as often as my wallet can afford to. But in just the 18 months I've been here, I've noticed an incredibly high turnover in the vendors.
(Somehow the sushi place continues to operate despite having the most mediocre sushi I've tasted this side of Brisbane???)
Anyway, I guess I'm just feeling a little sad about it all because I really love the little eat street area so much! What do y'all reckon is the primary reason it doesn't seem to be flourishing? Just too many businesses in a not densely-lived-in-enough space? What else would you really like to see there?
And why should my tax money (however meager it is) be handed to some random ppl who might very well be more well off than I am (household income cutoff is $125K in high COL areas in her proposal). Like wtf, household income of $125 even in NYC isnβt bad at all. Itβll be god knows how long before I can have a household income that much. This is the mob government stealing from its people and playing racial preference at its most blatant and disgusting. How could anyone support this?!
My fridge is feeling bereft without the three bags of fruit and veg (and lovely eggs) we get each week at the Willis St market. I understand that gatherings are a no-go but is there any other way we can get our produce and support the growers? I hope they don't have to compost it all.
