Was on the radio, and it's probably not from the most reliable source. But here you go.
We've been living with my mil since December. We all pitched in to get a place in a new city so we could all start fresh; splitting the cost so we could save and get our own place.
It's been 3 months and we finally have enough saved to not only get our own place but also replace everything we had to leave behind when we moved across the state. We applied for a place and should hopefully be out by the end of the month! But someone is not happy.
Before moving in with my mil, I always knew she wasn't 100% okay in life. I knew she had a drinking problem and is a hypochondriac, but I wasn't aware how bad it was. Living here has sucked. She fights with me every chance she gets and I've tried to move on from that because I know she's just a miserable, divorced, drunk. Still her words hurt.
About 2 weeks ago, I made a discovery. We go threw a lot of juice and I knew my kids weren't drinking that much. We'd open a big jug, drink maybe a cup and then the next day the juice would be half gone. I knew mil was using it to sweeten her vodka, only I thought she was doing 2 shots off vodka to a cup of juice. Wrong. Turns out it's at least half a cup of vodka and the rest is juice. Meaning she's drinking at least 1.5 full cups of vodka a night. She comes home and chugs her cup of juice and vodka in about a 5 minute window before taking her dog out and drinking another cup.
Her drinking has gotten worse since we've started to move. She now tops it off with some of her dogs Xanax. On these nights she becomes aggressive and causes fights. So much fun.
One of these nights was this past Friday. She's wasted and at the dinner table asks if we have plans for tomorrow because her boss/boyfriend wants to come over (we don't like him around the kids). We tell her we didn't have plans and were just gonna hang out at home since it's been a long week. She then, as loud as she can and in the most bitchy way possible says, "well you guys better leave because he's coming over tomorrow for some fun and we are going to be loud. So if you don't want the kids to hear, you better leave." Let me add that one of our kids is 1.5y and the other is 6y. Imagine explaining to your 6y why grandma is kicking you out and having them ask why can't they be part of the fun. Great times there.
DH argued with mil about this once the kids were in bed. He pointed out that if she expects us to be gone all day the baby can't take his nap, we will have to spend money because there is a foot of snow on the g

To add insult to injury, she also decided to attack a girl in twitter who is still stuck in her flooded home. These tweets are deleted too but she's being INCREDIBLY insensitive right now. If anybody wants to see the screen shots I can try to make an album.
