Texas Roadways and Highways
I'm visiting Texas for the first time this weekend and I can't help but notice the weird/unconventional/confusing roads in Texas (Austin area). More specifically:
- why are all of the highway overpasses and ramps extra high and long?
- most of the exit signs on the highways seem to indicate the direction and not what street you're existing.
- roadway signs seem to be generally inadequate and confusing.
- why do majority of the off ramps exit onto a frontage road?
- last but not least, a lot of roads seem to not have street lights or sidewalks.
