Hi to all Hyderabadi redditors! Please complete my questionnaire on Telugu/Tollywood films - it will be of great help for my high school research article and should only take around 5 minutes :)

I am 16 years old and in high school, researching the role of Tollywood in the construction of toxic and/or traditional values regarding gender and relationships in Indian society.

I know telugu is the mothertongue of many Hyderabadi redditors and many Tollywood movies (even dubbed) are shown there so I'm hoping this subreddit will allow me to get many responses!

This questionnaire is simple and it's about gender depictions in Tollywood. I would love it if you could please take 5 minutes out of your day to answer it - it will help my research so much!!

https://forms.gle/cpRm7dXeRMRoa9at7

Please take this if you have any experience watching Tollywood/telugu movies, including ones that are dubbed. Thank you so much!

Please send it out to friends/family too - the more responses the better!

[TOMT] [MOVIE] [late 1990s to early 2010s] Looking for the title of a knight/princess adventure film.

I don't really remember much, but the film is from the late 90s to early 2010s.

It was a sort of action adventure with light comedy. A soldier/knight/musketeer-sort-of person is tasked to bodyguard a lady of nobility on her way to an arranged marriage.

At some point in their journey, their group is ambushed/attacked... some shooting, sword fighting is involved. They take refuge in some building ruins. The lady falls in love with her guard or one of the men in her party..

Any ideas or suggestions of the film would be appreciated.

PS: NOT Animation.

This is an article from 2010 - Ridley Scott Eyeing Reteam With Leo DiCaprio On 'The Wolf Of Wall Street'. What do you think a Scott directed Wolf of Wall Street film would have been like?

https://deadline.com/2010/07/ridley-scott-eyeing-reteam-with-leo-dicaprio-on-the-wolf-of-wall-street-52327/

I had no idea Ridley Scott was going to direct this movie before Scorsese did. It just feels so weird to think because Scorsese's style is all over the movie and it is hard to imagine anyone but him having directed it. Ridley Scott has touched practically all genres but I think his take on this movie would have been very different and maybe would not have glamorized the lifestyle as much. I guess the closest thing Ridley did that would resemble WOWS would be American Gangster or even House of Gucci (both kind of have a rise and fall feel to them). American Gangster does feel gritty at times and it doesn't really showcase Frank Lucas' (denzel washington) life in the most appealing way (whereas Scorsese has often been criticized for making his gangsters too appealing but in his defense he says β€œWell, it is glamorous and attractive, is it not? It's glamorous at first if you're young and stupid, which a lot of people are." ).

What do you think a Ridley Scott directed Wolf of Wall Street would have been like?

Insane to me that Ridley Scott was up for a Dune movie and even Wolf of Wall Street at one point, really showing how much range he has in the projects he takes on

[TOMT][THRILLER/SLASHER MOVIE][2000-2010] Moustache man kills a group of people in his house. The Quebec Film and Television Tax credit Logo is shown in the end credits. (More info in text)

The killer was a man with a moustache. He had brown or orange hair, a white shirt and a blue-pink-sprinkled jacket. He had a watch on his left or right arm.

He was in his house when suddenly some of his workmates arrived to celebrate a surprise party. The moustache man didnt like them apparently but he agreed to celebrate with them. The workmates were: a man with brown hair, a blonde woman, a woman with dark hair and a young trainee. (There could also have been another one but I only recall these four.)

They put out a cake, party whistles and party hats. The cake was cut with a big knife. Some time later when the moustache man was cleaning the knife with a kitchen towel he was looking grim at his guests.

After midnight one of the guests (the man) said something that provoked the moustache man. He became very angry and killed one of the guests with the cake knife. The others were shocked and tried to run away from him. The moustache man chased them in his house and killed them one after another. The first victim was the woman with dark hair, who was trying to hide behind a door in a room. The trainee and the man hid in some storeroom. The trainee had a party whistle and blew it unintentionally. When they were found and the trainee was killed he made a whistling sound instead of a scream. While searching for other survivors the slasher took a party whistle and blew it once as a taunt. After killing the man who provoked him the moustache man shook the hand he was the knife holding in, as if he had to recover from the strong blow.

One person found a bubble blower on some box and blew it in the killers eyes. After being shot with the soap bubbles the moustache man became very angry and demolished some interior in search of the victims.

The blonde woman ran upstairs but she was found. When the man was about to kill her he was suddently shot by some policeman who appeared outside and saw the killer at the window.

The movie was in color.

The killer was shown very often and you basically followed him on his killing spree. He used mostly his knife, but the movie was not very gory.

The slasher looked a bit like this (man in the middle of the picture): Hostile Takeover (1988) - ALL HORROR

Most noticeable about the killer was his blue-pink-sprinkled jacket/hawaiian shirt.

The house looked normal, it was not rundown or in a bad state. The interior was pretty normal, too.

[TOMT][FILM][2010s?] Asian movie that is a collection of stories.

This is in no chronological order since it's been more than a year that I saw this movie playing in a cable channel.

So it's an Asian Horror Movie that's a collection of horror stories. I randomly stumbled upon this while doing my homework so I must have missed some details.

The first story was a found footage of a dashcam video of a couple. It starts out pretty normal, they even go to a drive-thru carwash. Until the guy drives to a secluded place and decides to murder the girl. (I can't remember if the girl survived, but she got inside the car and locked the guy outside.)

Second one was two construction workers who were ordered to bury their dead coworker in a toxic desert(I don't know the correct term). A security guard at the desert notices that the two guys were acting strange so he decided to sneak on them. The two workers were taking so long to bury the guy that they were caught by the security guard, so they killed him too.

Third one was a woman who's working at a morgue. Eventually she experiences paranormal stuff until she went missing inside. A coworker went inside and he got mauled (I think).

That's all I could remember.

[TOMT][SHORT FILM][2010s]Have You Ever Seen This Short Animated Film of a Girl on a Bus, Wearing a Star Necklace?

Hello there. I'm new to this subreddit, but there's a question I'd like to ask.

Has anyone seen a short 2d animated film about a girl on a bus? She and every passenger is wearing a string necklace with a star pendant around their neck. All of the other passengers’ star pendants are glowing, but not hers. Every time the bus stops, one of the passengers leaves to a destination, and the bus slowly becomes empty, leaving the girl with the dark, dull star, who apparently has no destination or stop to go to. The bus then drives toward a cliff or chasm; the girl tries desperately to stop the bus, or escape, only to fail. The bus eventually falls down into an abyss, filled with various material junk, and I think a, old fashioned street lamp. The girl then leaves the bus to find an, ethereal little girl, sitting down on the ground, curled up, her head in her knees. The girl with the star takes the ethereal little girl by the hand, and the two seemingly lost girls wander off in the abyss together.

It’s a short animated film I had watched a long time ago on YouTube, but can’t remember the name of. Has anyone else seen it, and if you have, can anyone remember it’s name?

[TOMT][MOVIE][2010+?] scene from a film where they’re in court and someone is reading off of paper but there’s nothing on it

There’s a scene I’m thinking of where a couple are in court, either they are divorcing or discussing children custody, and the guy gets out of a piece of paper and starts reading off this massive speech! He then leaves and places the paper on a table/floor. The woman then picks up the paper just to find it’s blank/got a couple words on it - meaning that he’s made the speech up on the spot

It’s live action, coloured. I think there’s other people in the room, like jury or whatever, and judge at the front too!

[TOMT][ANIMATION/SHORT FILM][LATE 2000s/EARLY 2010s] animated short about a worm eating an apple hollow and living inside of it

when i was in elementary school (like 2nd to 4th grade) and lived in lower new york (not nyc) i remember taking a school trip with my class/grade to some sort of movie theater or a film studio that had a theater in it and we watched 2 short films there: one live action one about a kid going to school and it was pretty dramatic, and the other one was animated and about a worm who lived in an apple. i dont remember what the place was called but i distinctly remember that some storyboards for an ice age movie were on display on the walls (they were like framed or encased in glass), and that our class activity for our trip was to create our own storyboard.

anyways, the place i went to isnt what im searching for, what im searching for is that second short we watched. this green worm finds an apple in some humans kitchen i think, and it starts eating through the fruit until its hollow and makes a home for itself inside. i distinctly remember it having a window it looked out of. there might have been a table inside too. in the end i think the apple rotted away and i came out kinda sad after watching it. im pretty sure it was 2d animated, but i could be wrong. ive been searching all over the place for it but cant seem to find it anywhere...

i dont know if it was a student film or not, i previously thought maybe it had something to do with the now defunct blue sky animation studios because of the ice age storyboards and because they were located kinda close to the part of ny where i lived but im pretty sure theres no correlation, i havent found anything (plus the other short was live action). for all i know this wasnt something that was aired on tv or could have been shown to the public at large. thats all the info i have surrounding the short, if anyone has any info that could help me on my search that would be great!! it really inspired me as a kid and it hasnt left my mind since i watched it.

[TOMT][YOUTUBE VIDEO][2010s] Creepy 3D-modeled short film with lots of screaming and a red and black color scheme

Okay, so this is a huge shot in the dark, but I have to try. I think it was a short film made in 3D, video game-like graphics. I remember bad voice acting with unprofessional mics, and a lot of screaming, but there’s a slim chance that there’s no voice acting at all. The main characters included a goth-looking girl and I think there was a cannibal child (or twins) and a wolf somewhere? It was clearly supposed to be scary and surrealist, an experimental sort of film where you had to put together symbolism to understand a storyline. I remember it was disturbing, but kind of funny (in an unintentional way.)

The imagery in my memories for this are kind of like the video game The Path, if anyone is familiar with that. Lots of red and black and checkerboard patterns. I remember one black and red room in particular where a murder took place. I might have seen it around 2010-2016.

If (by some miracle) this sounds familiar to anybody out there, please let me know!
