A lot of people seem to think that Jayce is kind of stupid and easily manipulated. I don't think that's the case. Manipulation requires the victim to be largely unaware of what's being done to him, and that is simply not the case with Jayce - we see him multiple times quickly catching onto the situation. I think Jayce's real character flaw is that he's a chronic people pleaser (literally in Mel's case ehehe). We see that he's an extrovert who thrives on popularity, he enjoys the attention of adoring crowds. He likes receiving validation and thus, by extension, strives to maintain that validation as that is where he derives his sense of self-worth from (which is imho an interesting shift from his egotistical background from the lore and makes him more sympathetic). But the plot constantly puts him into situations where he just can't please everybody. So he makes one decision that he believes is safe and correct that everyone will agree with, but then backtracks whenever he's faced with the reality that they won't, chooses the opposite and realises that comes with a cost, too. The plot is constantly telling him he can't have his cake and eat it too. When he says: "we try over and over until we get it right," his line might be referring to Piltover, but really he's talking about himself. Hell, Mel's mother tells him this directly to his ear face.

Let's do a tally of some of his choices throughout the show:

- He wants to play by the rules, but that results in bureaucracy derailing his and Viktor's projects for years.

- He wants to take responsibility and fight corruption, but that means antagonising everyone with looser morals.

- He wants to do well as a politician, but that means straying from his goals as a scientist.

- He wants to protect his inventions from misuse, but that means potentially having to sentence his friend to die.

- He wants to protect the city, but not accidentally trigger a war by creating weapons that could easily be stolen and misused (and already have been).

He's constantly faced with polarising choices without any real possibility of a compromise - any choice he makes will inevitably antagonise or hurt someone. He can¨'t please both Mel, Viktor and Heimerdinger. He can't protect the city without taking action, he can't take action without getting people hurt in the process. And so he¨'s torn between finding the best possible solution to the problem that will simultaneously allow him to maintain the validation that he cr

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

I'm seeing a lot of questions from new players coming to this reddit channel, asking questions around how to get started, what cult to play, what models are good etc. I'm also seeing a LOT of incorrect answers, maybe from players who rarely play the faction but feel like they have a good grip of the army, or people who create youtube content.

I am genuinely fed up with seeing a ton of incorrect answers.

I'm going to address a few comments or questions I see a lot over this week, for new people who are trying to get into the army, and hopefully also we can change some players view on how to run this army and start seeing more of you peeps get wins.

"Go Twisted Helix"

This is the worst contender I see on a daily basis. Stop. Going. Twisted Helix.

Twisted helix is very mediocre and actually offers little force multipliers. Yes, S5 acolytes are good, but without MfB you're only S9 on your rock saws/cutters. Yes 2" extra advance movement is good, but why are you constantly advancing your acolytes?

Yes you are absolutely right. With Orks, DG, Nids and a variety of vehicles & SM meta units, it's important to be able to hit or pass over the S5 threshold to be able to efficiently kill units.

But why do you need Twisted Helix?

You have Might from Beyond - it should ALWAYS be used. Sure it's a bit difficult to utilise proficiently because it's a psychic power, but you have ways to get +2 to cast if you absolutely need to (which you should, so mass hypnosis also goes off). Sure it can be denied, but the armies that really need that threshold to go off, tend to not be able to deny as well as you think.

There's an argument that S6 is also meta, because so many T3... and you're right, but at what cost? You're S6, you can't use your flamers because you advanced so you've just lost a chunk of damage from that (and if you didn't advance then you have to ask why are you even TH?) but you're literally glass cannon. Sure your S6 wounds on a 2+ but you probably wont kill the unit, then you'll die from being slapped back.

Show of hands - how many of you are doing the truck trick to get an extra 6" of movement from your deployment, to charging turn 1 and THEN getting tabled? I would guess most of you. The trick isn't intended and is actually hindering you, not allowing you to succeed. "But I do this trick and I win". That's fair. But there's a big difference between winning at your loc
