Call them clues, call them Easter eggs, call them “reasons I stay awake every Thursday until midnight just in case she drops something”: this is a list of all known teasers that Taylor Swift hid in her work and media appearances that hinted at future releases or events during her Lover era, which sadly only lasted from 2019-2020 due to the pandemic. This list does not include any references to past work, but instead focuses on clues that we couldn’t decipher at time of release and could only understand after the clue came true. I see a lot of users asking about previous hints or proven theories, so I did a little bit of digging into the Lover era in the hopes that this can guide us in our current clowning. July 19, 2014. Swift poses in front of a NYC mural by Kelsey Montague. Note: wait for it.
March 30, 2018. Releases a Spotify vertical video of reputation’s Delicate, in which her nails are painted pastel to hint at the change in aesthetic for the next era (Entertainment Weekly, 2019).
April 25, 2018. Posts a reputation tour rehearsal photo, in which she wears a shirt with the word “Lovers” across the chest. This shirt would later be seen in rehearsal footage from Netflix’s reputation Stadium Tour film (2018). Note: This appears to be a coincidence rather than an actual hint at her seventh album. The album was initially titled Daylight, until Swift wrote the title track Lover in late 2018/early 2019 (Rolling Stone, 2019).
July 13, 2018. Posts photo with the caption “Take me home [pink heart emoji]” Note: Again, prior to the creation of Lover (song), but perhaps inspiration.

February 10, 2019. Posts photo with first Lover era filter wearing Stella McCartney. Swift later says that she contacted McCartney after writing London Boy to get permission to use McCartney’s name, and their clothing collaboration was born from the song lyrics. The Stella x Taylor Swift collaboration would be announced on August 20, 2019.

Not only does Shawn have a feature in one of the songs, but this is not the first time they have worked together. He could easily be influenced by her. Both Wonder and Lover are the pinnacle of being in love, and the cohesiveness of both is incredible. I love listening to them side by side.
