UPDATE: Just finished Season 3... which ended on a cliffhanger. *goes and bangs head on a table* Check out my complaints below.
EDIT: Adding a warning. DON'T ACTUALLY READ THIS SERIES! Okay, warning completed.
If you saw my post (which unexpectedly exploded) yesterday, then a lot of you know that I'm reading They Say I Was Born a King's Daughter. I just finished the second season, and I was originally was going to post my update in a comment, but then I remembered I could do a [Binge with Me] post. So here this is. Honestly, I just copied my comments on first season, made some edits, then added my thoughts on S2. Also, I will be editing this as I finish seasons. (I probably could've commented by the episode, but I realized commenting on the characters would have been far quicker.)
Also, let me know your thoughts (or complaints) if you've actually read the series.
># Season 1
I just finished the first chapter... and I'm already regretting my decision. I feel absolutely nothing for MC. Nothing (aside from bafflement).
Five Hours Later...
I finished the first season. Yeah... I'm reeally regretting my decision. I never thought it could take so long just to read 50 episodes. It hurts. It made me physically cringe too many times to count, and frustrated me a lot. But I am still alive.
Now onto my complaints.
>!What is up with this weird-as-freak world! The author can't seem to figure what they wanted to do with their setting. It's a modern fantasy with the same technological advancements, yet they somehow hadn't discovered 0 or the Pythagorean theorem. How does that even work? There's something I noticed, but why are their fashion trends so out of whack? In one chapter, the MC is wearing historical clothes, in another she's wearing fancy dresses, and in some scenes, she's wearing semi-casual clothes that can be seen today. Even the king's clothes can be weird at times. Like, a good majority of the time, he's wearing fancy clothing, but then there's that one chapter that they throw him into pretty plain civilian clothes. Like, why? There was no point to that. And it just made him harder to recognize.
And then we have the patriarchy that seems to be forgotten most of the time. Honestly, I think the author forgets that this is a major part of the setting since they only seem to bring it up when they want the MC to look good. For a world that degrades
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
The nurse asked the rabbit, βwhat is your blood type?β
βI am probably a type Oβ said the rabbit.
Edit: Oh god I just noticed the title, 'been seen being used'. Christ.
I'll start with one I've been noticing lately.
I might get some flack for this, but in the isekai genr- wait, please stay with me, I'm going somewhere with this- there's been two sort of 'trends' that I've been appreciating.
The first, rather than having a specific series or story in mind, is just the rising use of, 'you are not the only person who has been reincarnated into this world'. In increasingly more stories with isekai elements, this has been a rather refreshing twist for me. I personally dislike the hand wave by an author of 'well, this person is just the smartest, or more chosen person, and that's why they are the hero, not through their own merit'. So when a story introduces, 'hey, you aren't special, here's another person just like you', I always like that. Further, it brings into question, 'why were you, specifically you, brought into this world, and why are you special'. Just tickles my fancy. Also lets the author introduce different perspectives. Some heroes want to return to their old world, others don't, for very valid reasons. Sometimes this will be interesting. Other times its just two neckbeards shouting platitudes and is about as ideologically hollow as... god there are too many current political examples to pick from so I'll just let you think of one in your head and say its that. Spicy, I know. Not all stories which use this trope are 10/10, but it brings a 4/10 -> 6/10 for me.
My favorite right now is probably the spin-off series of Slime Tensei, Tensura Diary That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, wherein the main character is just a teacher for children who are themselves, heroes transported from another world. But also they're just kids, so it gets to be unreasonably cute.
The other is the 'I was reborn as a villainous' genre. This is a sort of gender flipped version of the original story, except in more ways than one. Rather than being reborn as an 'over-powered-awesome-self-insert-character', this follows the story of usually some hapless worker drone who read too many trashy light novels got hit by a truck, and found herself in one of those stories. Except, she isn't the heroine, but the villain, and in stories like these, she'd be lucky if being kicked out of the kingdom is all that happens to her. There are variations within t

Alot of great jokes get posted here! However just because you have a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke.
THIS IS NOT ABOUT NSFW, THIS IS ABOUT LONG JOKES, BLONDE JOKES, SEXUAL JOKES, KNOCK KNOCK JOKES, POLITICAL JOKES, ETC BEING POSTED IN A DAD JOKE SUB
Try telling these sexual jokes that get posted here, to your kid and see how your spouse likes it.. if that goes well, Try telling one of your friends kid about your sex life being like Coca cola, first it was normal, than light and now zero , and see if the parents are OK with you telling their kid the "dad joke"
I'm not even referencing the NSFW, I'm saying Dad jokes are corny, and sometimes painful, not sexual
So check out r/jokes for all types of jokes
r/unclejokes for dirty jokes
r/3amjokes for real weird and alot of OC
r/cleandadjokes If your really sick of seeing not dad jokes in r/dadjokes
Punchline !
Edit: this is not a post about NSFW , This is about jokes, knock knock jokes, blonde jokes, political jokes etc being posted in a dad joke sub
Edit 2: don't touch the thermostat

Let me tell you about my friend John the Spaniard, and how his tale relates to Hillary Lynn Hayward-Thomas.
I've known John since high school, and he was always a normal dude. His parents are both Spanish immigrants, and he grew up in a bilingual home. Yet he never basked in his Spanish identity, to the point where I jokingly questioned whether he could speak Spanish at all one night when a group of us were out drinking. (He can, and by all accounts sounds much like a native speaker.)
Then one summer he went to Spain to visit his relatives, and when he returned he was Juan the Spaniard.
Suddenly he decked himself in full Spanish regalia, spoke excitedly about Real Madrid and Barcelona, and expressed his fervent desire to meet a girl "from the old country." My friend, who had never even mentioned his heritage in all the years I knew him, started holding court about how people from places like Galicia were different and had traditional values. He spoke of Basques and jai alai, and how friendly the people of Madrid are. He surfed dating sites, filtering for Spanish girls only. He made a new habit of speaking glowingly about his mom's paella and raved about local restaurants that served "authentic tapas."
He even began calling me "Don Stephanos el Griego," as if I too had become some delusional twat bathing in saccharine nostalgia for a country I've never lived in.
And when Spain won the world cup in 2010, Juan spewed buckets of nationalistic jizz in celebration, crowing about it for weeks, flying a Spanish flag from his car and wearing jerseys of his favorite players from Spain's national team.
Yet there was a curious element to all this.
Some of the people in our circle of friends wanted to go to Spain, and wanted John to go with them for obvious reasons: He's fluent, he apparently knows his way around, can take them off the beaten path to places tourists don't go, and he's got family there.
Strangely, John didn't want to go back to "his" country.
After a surprising amount of arm-twisting he agreed, and eventually it became clear why he didn't want to go: In the US, he was Juan the Spaniard, the most Spanish guy you know, the epitomy of Spanish-ness. But in Spain he was Cousin John from America, John the American, Johnny Apple Pie. In Spain, his Spanish identity vanished quicker than a prospective nanny upon learning the job is to care for the Baldwinito brood.
**I am convinced this is the reason why Hillary Lynn Hayward-Thomas does not seem t

We told her she can lean on us for support. Although, we are going to have to change her driver's license, her height is going down by a foot. I don't want to go too far out on a limb here but it better not be a hack job.

Then the other muffin says "AHH, TALKING MUFFIN!!!"
