Tanzanian First Division League Puns

A simple point system was used to determine the total amount of points. Every league title received 3 points, the runner up gets 2 points and the third placed team gets 1 point. Additional points were awarded for every FA cup win (2 points) and for every European Cup/Champions League trophy (4 points). I did not include any Mickey Mouse trophies in the calculations. Jokes aside these were the only ones that seemed relevant enough. To mention a few fun facts, 52% of the points Manchester United gathered came between 1993 and 2013. Absolutely insane stat that shows how dominant they were for how long. On the other hand we have Liverpool who gathered 54% of their points from 1974 to 1993. Just as insane with a little more European success sprinkled in.

All English champions from 1889 to 2021. The only clubs to manage to win 3 titles in a row are: Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Huddersfield town. Elite company. My absolute favorite fun fact is the next one. Portsmouth never reached top 3, they then won back to back titles in 1949 and 1950, refused to elaborate and were never seen in the top 3 once again.

Even from 1978 it was the ALE again that had 4 of the 7 teams with 90 or more wins. No other division in MLB history (1969 onwards after divisions were introduced) has ever had 4 90 game winners in 1 season.

Shels have been in blistering form this season in the League of Ireland First Division, they opened up an early lead on the rest of the league and have never looked back. Racking up 15 wins, 7 draws and just 1 loss in 23 games, they can tie up the league tonight with three games to go - they just have to match the result of second placed Galway United.

The Reds will be aiming to achieve this in front of a sold out Tolka Park, so the atmosphere will be electric! They're trying to bounce back after relegation last season - despite a strong start to Premier Division life, COVID saw a huge downturn of fortunes for the Dublin side, whose poor form saw them drop into the relegation playoffs at the tail end of the season.

As it's a second tier game, it's not being televised unfortunately, but the game is available on LOI TV for €5, an Irish PPV site that it showing every game this season. Kick off is at 19:45.

Welcome to what is sure to be the most stressful weekend of my life.

Due to a change in my personal life, this week I’ve found myself with more free time than at any point in the last 5ish years. Unsure of what to do, I decided to make a push to qualify for FUT Champs. I’m a casual FIFA player, I’ve never really played fut properly, just dipping in and out, have some fun, that was that. I’m in division 6, I’m not great. I don’t know what ‘Meta’ means, I don’t play RBs at CB. I just try to put the ball in the goal. So I thought, why keep my embarrassment private when I could beam it to the world?

MattyHollandFC. No nonsense, like the great man himself. 'Division 10 ain't ready' I hear you say, but I’ve been having fun with this team. Club legends Roberto ‘Robbie’ Carlos, Roy ‘El Kapitano’ Keane and Inaki ‘Attacki’ Williams getting their time to shine here, hopefully with Nabil ‘Fecker’ Fekir and ‘No Nickname Because Mononymous’ Neymar delivering too. On the bench, William ‘Baby You Can Drive My’ Carvalho and Alessandro ‘Besta’ Nesta are among those vying for minutes. The Stage is set. Lets dive in.

Okay, I hate this. My passes didn’t go, Neymar got a 5.5, I had 5 shots. What a horror show. Oh, and I may have lost 8-0. But its my first game, I’ll warm into it, right? Right? Game 2 is a little better. I manage to score at least. Neymar is up to 6.5 and I’m 0-2 to start.

Game 3, and we have a win! I flew into a 2-0 lead, and due to either a quit or a disconnect, I take a big fat W. And the good times keep rolling! A big 4-0 win and Neymar decides to turn up. 2 for him and 2 for Atacki and we’re flying. This isn’t so bad after all.

Scratch that. I lost again. I’m 5 games in, 2-3 and I’m exhausted. How the hell do you lads do this every weekend? Oh I’ve lost again. This is not going as well as I’d hoped. On the other side, It’s not going as bad as I thought.

I finish my first session 2-4. The chances of me playing all games were slim, but they're probably lower now. Am I worst FUT Champs player ever? It's tough to say, but yes. At least it can only get better. Although I did say that at 0-2. Ooof.

Since this first update I have played 6 games, and I'm sure you can guess my record in them. If you guessed 0-6, you're almost there.
