A list of puns related to "Taiwan Travel"
Hey. Short post I guess. I was thinking to maybe after the Covid blows over to check out Taiwan. Seems so exotic, and far away. Say, how are things there for people that know english only? Is it hard to orient yourself or talk to the locals?
I got 2 doses of the Taiwanese vaccine, I've heard that countries aren't accepting it as a viable vaccine so I may need to get 2 more shots of Moderna or AZ if I want to travel anywhere, is this true?
Dear Reddit-ers,
I have put together a page on my blog where all the travel restrictions for the Great China Region (China Mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) are being tracked:
Feel free to check it out and provide comments if any addition or correction is needed
Good day! My brother, non-ROC national has a flight on July 15, 2021. My ROC fatherβs been expecting him but july 1 flight was rescheduled to 15th due to travel restrictions.
Can anyone please confirm whether he can proceed? Thereβs no update yet from the airlines. He has a visa already.
Thank you so much!!!
Title. I won't waste anyone's time with too many words here.

So here is the weird part: US CDC issued a level 1 travel notice for Taiwan. But this was issued back in January 7th, 2021. https://web.archive.org/web/20210107140833/https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/notices/covid-1/coronavirus-taiwan
Nothing has changed since then on CDC's level 1 travel notice. This was considered 1 of the lowest level of warning from CDC.
In case you wondered, Israel with its highest vaccination rate, is at Level 2 travel notice for CDC. https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/traveler/none/israel
So technically, by CDC's standard, Taiwan was /is one of the safest places to travel regarding Covid situation. YET somehow, US State Department decided to put Taiwan on Level 3 warning on April 21st, 2021.
Why?! What happened?!
Did US know of something before hand?
Of course, there were clusters of local infections in Taiwan before May 2021:
December 2020, January 2021, February 2021, all had local infection clusters.
So perhaps US diplomats in AIT had already made secret assessments that Covid Outbreak was about to happen in Taiwan.
Thank you all for compiling these resources. I have a family friend wanting to reunite with their spouse who is working in Guangzhou, China. Will they be able to board a flight in the US using their compatriot permit? What would they need to prepare for upon arrival to China?
i would like to visit my best friend that lives in taipei, iβve been before in 2019 but want to know if itβs still possible for me to go, iβm vaccinated and am willing to take tests, thanks
Of course you'll need to be vaccinated, provide negative covid tests etc but it's a baby-step to international travel resuming!
Wanted to share my video experience (shot with Fujifilm XT-30) of the trip. Stayed 8 days.
Part 1: CITY - Explored Taipei and ate lots of food. I was doing the money conversion wrong in my head, which resulted in me thinking everything was 10x cheaper than reality. The waitress even questioned me when I ordered 2 entrees. Had beef noodle soup and boba almost every day.
Part 2: NATURE. I didn't plan the trip, so I was going in blind. I suppose I assumed my trip would be mostly city, but oh man there was so much greenery and it was a pleasure exploring. Lots of hiking. Teapot Mountain and Pingxi Crags were standouts so memorable. (Teapot mountain is the video thumbnail).
Part 3: TOMFOOLERY . No trip is complete without some shenanigans, which are equally as fun. Renting bikes and exploring the city in the morning was incredible. Negotiating with a gay nightclub bouncer to see the inside before we paid...nice. Appreciating the knockoff SUPREME apparel at the night markets. Getting lost in Jiufen because we missed all returning taxis and buses.
Anyways, we did lots of stuff so If youβre interested in seeing the sights through my lens, check out the video below! Iβd love feedback as I wanna up my home movie game.
In light of the postponed travel bubble with HK by 2 weeks due to the spike in local community COVID cases in Hong Kong, there has been little to no updates on the travel bubble with Taiwan since the news emerged a week ago. IMO Taiwan is a far better destination than HK in terms of public health safety, tourist attraction and even local cuisines, so why didnβt our government prioritize in forming a travel bubble with Taiwan?
