A list of puns related to "T. Boone Pickens"
He donated a lot of money to the university in Stillwater (Our stadium is named after him) and he died today. I was wondering if anyone had thoughts about him.

Spencer wrote a piece that's sort of about T. Boone but really about the concept of megaboosters and the environment that makes them a thing in the first place.

'In the of 1997, he raised $37 million β $8 million of which was his money. By early 1999, however, the fund had lost more than 90 percent, and was under $3 million. But by the end of 2000, with his depression lifted and his faith in his own judgment restored, the fund was up to $252 million, a gain of more than 9,000 percent. By 2008, he was worth $3 billion.'

OKLAHOMA CITY β In the face of volumes of contrary evidence, billionaire oilman T. Boone Pickens said Friday that Oklahomaβs increase in earthquakes isnβt due to the energy industry, just to better monitoring.
βWastewater wells and fracking have nothing to do with β theyβre not even earthquakes,β he told KFOR news anchor Kevin Ogle, who interviewed the oilman from Holdenville before a crowd of 300 guests at the Southern Republican Leadership Conference.
. . . .
βThis is a little sensitive and a little uncomfortable for folks in this room, and itβs really a double-edged sword for Oklahoma,βΒ Ogle prefaced. βIβm going to ask you about wastewater injection wells and the rise of earthquakes in Oklahoma. Because we depend so much on energy in Oklahoma β jobs, economy, private economy, state economy β how do we walk this tightrope?β
Pickens scoffed at Ogle: βAll these earthquakes, huh?β βOklahomaβs the earthquake capital of America right now!β Ogle replied. βWhat do we do to make sure β¦ β
Pickens dismissively waved his hand. He joked that he evidently still has work to do in educating the public.
βI need to come up here and do some work,βΒ he said. The audience, many of them in the energy industry themselves, roared.
βWhatβs happened is that weβre monitoring (seismic activity) closer,β Pickens said. βUntil a few years ago, we were monitored out of St. Louis, Missouri. And thatβs where we got the triggers. Now we come in with the monitors and low and behold we have got all of these βOh my God; weβre having another earthquakeβ β the earth is moving all the time, thatβs not unusual.β
