A list of puns related to "Synchrony Financial"
Curious on people's thought's on Synchrony (SYF). It seems cheap, trading at a PE of 6.5x. They announced a $1b share buyback, on top of an existing $1.5b buyback. So that means they will have bought back 10% of their stock in the next 6 months. At their recent investor day, they also gave the target of double digit EPS growth. They have also partnered with PayPal, and have launched a BNPL product. Buffet previously owned it, so presumably the management team must be top notch
It seems like a company with good prospects and financials, so why is it trading at a discount?
Is anyone having issue with Synchrony Financial being able to sync to Mint? It was working prior to yesterday. All of sudden, my balance became 0. I know I have a Room to Go balance from that company, so I have no idea why it is showing up as a 0 balance.
Good morning,
Legitimately forgot to pay my PayPal credit line (most of my other cards are on autopay to avoid this), and racked up a $29 late fee accidentally. Called in to request a courtesy fee waiver since usually most credit companies will do it once and prepared to grovel... Synchrony had the late fee waiver built into their automated system; didn't even need to speak to a representative, and the entire process took less than 30-seconds.
If you've experienced hardship or have a late fee, here is their full list of credit products. Call in and see if you are able to recoup some of your dough. $29 is an entire minimum monthly payment or filling up your gas tank... and if they've built it into the major retailer automated system, it takes mere moments.
Have a nice weekend, everyone, hope this helps.
Apologies if I oughtn't post this here, but I was googling through this whole process and didnβt see anything to identify this as a particular scam, so Iβm hoping this will enable others to make a quicker decision and not waste as much time as I did lol.
I am job seeking right now (which is terrible by the way thanks covid) and posted my resume onto a recruiting site. I was contacted by an βHR repβ for Synchrony Financial as a potential candidate. This rep sent me over to the βHR managerβ, who emailed me the job description (legit, probably pulled from Synchronys website) and asked me to download a secure messaging app to have a text interview. βSheβ apologized for things being unorthodox, but covid etc etc. Things have been unusual with a lot of recruiters re: covid so I decided to give it a shot even though I was suspicious from this point on.
Long story short, they managed to present as fairly legitimate despite being scammers. Their behavior didnβt exactly match up with anything I found online - we had a full interview, there was a period where I was βsubmitted to the head of HRβ and had to wait to hear back, but ultimately it boiled down to a check scam. They were going to send me ~$2000 to buy my βhome office materialsβ from βtheir vendorβ, and I knew I was dangerously close to being victimized, but I still held out hope for this awesome position being real. I asked if it would be possible to use my own equipment, no; asked to wait to make the purchase until the check fully cleared, wouldnβt be set in time for me to start work; finally asked if it would be possible to send a certified check: blocked.
I just wanted to put this out there so it might come up if someone googles like I did, but also as a cautionary tale. Job hunting especially right now is incredibly disheartening and has brought me a point of desperation where I was willing to overlook warning signs to a point because I needed this fake opportunity so much. Please be careful out there, everyone!
Hey r/investing, I want your input and financial analysis on Warren Buffet's decision to invest in SYF? Why do you think he invested? What ratios or number made the investment appealing? I have gone over the financials (not a professional). ROE and ROA is not too great but we can see that this stock is a value play. Please let me know your thoughts, ideas, and opinions on his decision (fundamentals..). Thank you!

What's Buffet seeing in here? Sometimes it's a little guess work
The amount is more , about $7.00 more for the stock. It's so the company can separate SYF as its own entity. Is this pretty common?
