84 minutes. A solid police procedural movie with some nice suspense in the last 10 minutes.
The film was okay. My guess is hardcore noir fans would dig the way this story was set up and executed. We see a hard-nosed and dedicated IRS special agent track a big national mob boss to see if he can prove that there has been an egregious sum of unreported income. If there is, the tracks are covered well. So well, our hero Frank Warren has an existential moment of doubt when his family gets threatened. It must mean he’s close, but is it worth it?
The denouement has a few twists but is relatively straightforward. The dialog is okay, but it’s no Chandler and the actual beats of the story felt a bit cheesy at times. I guess I felt the film was very middle of the road, which is the hardest type of story for me to watch. Even despite all of that I still felt the emotions of the ending so I guess it was successful in drawing me in. I would say Catch Me If You Can is a better version of this type of story.
The films in this Indicator box set have been pretty mediocre so far, but the design and artwork are so good I can’t help but get excited for the next one. Drive a Crooked Road is next it seems. Let’s see!
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
