A list of puns related to "Surgical Care Improvement Project"
I've seen way too much posts full of panic recently. Chill guys. After the spikes we had seen a few weeks ago, it's only natural for the price to go down a bit. Anyway, I really think that price isn't everything and thinking long-term may be a better option. I don't plan to sell my eth anytime soon, so looking at charts isn't so stressful. I believe that investing shouldn't give you the creeps.
My advice: keep calm.
And it's not a financial advice.
It's a life advice.
Hey, guys! Do you know if its possible to do a pediatric surgical critical care from anesthesiology?
The American Pediatric Surgical Association says this fellowship is just like SCCM, but with emphasis on kids, and the board is under the ABS umbrella. However, the eligibility is completion of a surgical residency (or 3 years, idk), according to their website.
But, theoretically, anesthesia-CCM can sit for the ABS Surgical Critical Care board, right?
So, is it possible to do this fellowship from anesthesiology? The couple of programs I looked into seem to only accept surgery candidates...
I am asking because I am interested in a split Peds Anesthesia + PICU career, but pediatric critical care seems very closed to non-Peds folk
Introduced: Sponsor: Sen. Cory Booker [D-NJ]
This bill was referred to the Senate Committee on Finance which will consider it before sending it to the Senate floor for consideration.
1 cosponsor is on that committee.
This project is intended for educational purposes only.
Some the major problems I'm having with this script is:
I've noticed the module, zipfile
, is extremely slow when unzipping large files. Maybe there's an alternative to zipfile
I'm unaware of. This is also noted in the documents.
> Decryption is extremely slow as it is implemented in native Python rather than C.
Scanning for lengthy passwords can take extremely long to crack. It could be possible to speedup this process by creating multiple sections to scan through and use multi-threading to scan those sections simultaneously. I use itertools.product()
to scan through every possible combinations. The issue is I'm not sure how to create a starting point for itertools.product()
. (i.e. I have a '01234' character set and I want to start scanning at '30000')
Any suggestions or critics are welcome.
I have a giant scar on the back of my right upper arm. its about 8 inches in length and 1/2 inch wide at its widest points. it's also indented and pretty red still. It has been about 4 years since the surgery. I am diligent on keeping it out of the sun, keeping it moisturized and massaging it. i feel as though its as good as its going to get without some intervention. Is there form of treatment for improving scars? I live in a small vity and i made an appointment with a local doctor who does scar revisions but they told me there was nothing they could do. thanks for reading.
Picture this: It's 2040. You (or your loved one) need a relatively simple procedure, like an appy or lap-chole. You go to the outpatient surgery center where your pre-op assessment is performed by an NP/PA. You meet with your anesthesia provider. They ask if you have had any bad experiences with anesthesia before and when you last ate, etc. Then they explain the anesthesia plan for your surgery. Pretty straightforward, right? You ask if they are an anesthesiologist and they say, "Yes! I am a nurse anesthesiologist, and I have the same training and scope as an MDA. I went through 7 years of schooling/training!" You finally meet your surgeon - a Surgical Care Practitioner (SCP), who explains what exactly will happen with the surgery, and insures that you are in safe hands.
While waiting, you look into their credentials, and find that they are a highly certified, knowledgeable, and advanced healthcare provider! They completed their nursing degree as an undergraduate student, then pursued their 3 year (online) doctorate. Afterwards, they received surgical training - about 500 hours to be exact, and will be performing your operation today.
Your IVs are started by the bedside nurses, your surgeon marks the surgery site, and says they'll meet you in the OR soon. You are wheeled off to the OR, and the anesthesia provider masks you and tells you to take deep breaths.
Unfortunately, a complication arises during surgery, that not even your advanced SCP can handle. Your family is told that the 'doctor' tried to do everything in their power, but it just wasn't enough. Your family consults a lawyer, and discover, painfully, that 'nurses practice healthcare'. Your family won't get anything out of suing your surgeon because they are not held to the same standard that physicians are. Sorry π

Now obviously I am exaggerating, but I recently read this article and it gave me a legitimate scare. Anesthesi

After last years insane heating costs for my 1950's home, and the recent price increase for natural gas, I decided go around sealing windows and doors, adding insulation and expanding foam in places that I could. I purchased and installed a 96% efficient furnace and to finish off the project, I added more insulation to the attic. The attic was used for storage by the previous owners (I've had the goal of re-insulating since purchasing last year and therefore haven't used it for storage.) There was also no insulation whatsoever over the second floor bathroom / shower. In Winter, the bathroom was always cold, and condensation would quickly build up on the walls and ceiling due to the temperature difference. In addition, the temperature in my house would fluctuate fairly quickly, so the furnace would constantly kick on to make up for the drop in temperatures, almost no heat was retained.
The Project: This was actually far easier than I thought, and honestly should have been one of the first things I did, especially considering the cost to do it. I purchased 20 bags of spray-in cellulose insulation which came with a free 24 hour machine rental. I didn't need 20 bags, but I figured it was worth it to save $100 on the rental, and I'm glad I did. Trying to do this via hand toss would have been an absolutely miserable project. The total cost came to $296, 10% of which can be claimed on IRS tax form 5695 for home energy improvements.
Preparation: For my house, there are no soffit vents, so I didn't have to add any baffles. The insulation I choose is able to be applied to existing insulation, so I didn't have too much else to prepare aside from removing some things left behind, spare Romex wiring, a fishbowl and some Childs toys from the previous owners.
The Process: The machine came with a 100 foot hose which was plenty more than I needed. I had the machine setup out front with my dad manning the hopper, adding the bags of insulation as needed. I was up in the attic spraying the goods. We found that it was best to talk to each other through our phones using our AirPods to communicate if there were any clogs or if I needed him to stop the machine or whatever. All in all, it took about 2 hours to get through all 20 bags, with a break and some time to clear a clog.
The Results: This is where I'm most impressed. Almost immediately there were noticeable results. With the same relative outdoor
