A list of puns related to "Surface Hub"
Hi!
I'm having some challenges with more than one of my Surfaces Laptop Go's and the Microsoft USB-C Travel Hubs disconnecting periodically. I have to unplug the hub and reconnect it for the Surface to recognize the hub. Other times, I see that the Surface is creating more than one NIC in Windows. I've updated the HUB driver using Windows update, but it doesn't appear that there is any firmware available like other Surface docking stations. Just curious if anyone else has had a similar experience?
Thanks!
I have an LG OLED TV with HDMI 2.1, supporting 4k @ 120Hz. Are there docks that have the capability to support this as a single external monitor setup connected to the Surface Pro 8? I see a lot of docks stating they support single 8k monitor setup @ 30Hz, or a dual 4k monitor setup @ 60Hz, but don't specify if they support single 4k monitor setup @ 120 Hz.
I'm using a USB-C Satechi multi port adapter on my surface for travelling but I find the USB-C connection unstable. I also use a full Surface Dock 2 in the office which is great, this connects only via the Surface Connect Port.
Does anyone know of a smaller lighter travel multi-port (supporting 4K HDMI, with Ethernet and USB2) that connects into the Surface Connect Port and not the USB-C. It obviously needs to support power in as well.
Hello,
I have chosen the Surface Pro 8 for my daily driver.
Mandatory:
- USB C
- USB A (x2)
- (Micro)SD card reader
- Ethernet.
Optional:
- HDMI / DisplayPort
- Built in charger if not risk to kill the device
I also have a question about the TBolt port: can I have a USB-c to USB-c cable and connect the surface directly to a monitor's USB-c port and have it working?
Thanks
Any suggestions for a good 7 in 1 or w/e hub that doesn't dangle on the side? A long cable would be a good solution but I'm not sure which one to pick.
Hi guys, maybe this is a simple and old question but I am new here and couldnβt find a proper answer.
My target is to connect surface pro7 with a 2k@144hz monitor. A cheaper method than using Microsoft dock.
According to my knowledge, itβs better to use DisplayPort than hdmi2.0. Since I find the Microsoft usb c travel hub with hdmi2.0 but someone says it doesnβt support 144hz, is that right?
And I find some recommendations here, like anker and cablematters products with dp 1.4. But the anker says it doesnβt compatible with surface pro 7 as it doesnβt support dsc. Cablematter says it support surface book2 but not mention surface pro 7.
So could you recommend a usb-c hub compatible with surface pro 7 supporting 2k@144hz? Any comments would be appreciated.
Hey!
Ive been using a USB C Hub for 4 Months now. I was connecting Mouse and Keyboard aswell as Power Delivery via the Hub. Due to a not working HDMI port on the Dock and missing ethernet i figured id buy a new Dock. Today then, the new Dock arrived. Fired up my Surface, my screen and changed docks. First thing i recognized is that my mouse and keyboard arent working... ethernet isnt a thing aswell... but power delivery worked fine. So yeah, lets switch back to the old dock and see mouse and keyboard... dead... power working... Surface freezing, hard reebot, wlan not working anymore... no wlan adapter found.
Ended up reinstalling Win11... now, docks and peripherals still not working but at least wlan does...
What the heck happened ?
Whyyyy?
Edit:
Dock Nr. 1 is :
Hiearcool USB C Hub, USB C Adapter MacBook Pro Adapter, 7 in 1 mit 4K HDMI-Ausgang, kompatibel fΓΌr Laptop und andere Typ- C- GerΓ€te (PD TF Kartenleser 100W)
Dock Nr. 2 is:

I just purchased a Surface Laptop Studio and now I am thinking of how I am going to connect it to my current setup. I have a Dell Optiplex Desktop right now and I am using two DisplayPort to HDMI connections to connect my two monitors. I assume I will need to get some sort of Thunderbolt hub. This hub appears to be the official one that Microsoft partnered with. Is anybody considering anything else?
Hello Everyone,
I am looking at getting a Surface Pro 7 (SP7) to replace my current HP Laptop in the office.
The laptop is connected to an Ultraslim 2013 docking station, where one monitor is connected to the dock through a HDMI cable, and one monitor is connected to the dock through VGA - therefore displaying dual monitors. Both monitors are the same, so I am also able to have the VGA monitor connected using an HDMI cable if need be.
As the Surface Pro 7 has USB C support, I have been recommended to get a 'USB C Hub/Dock', however am just stuck at which one to get. I've looked through older threads here, but can't really find one which matches my situation. The reviews I have found so far have been mixed,
I have found a couple such as:
Would anyone have any recommendations for a USB C Hub/Dock, which will allow dual monitors to function? My budget would be around $100, of course the more competitive the price the better.
Thank you so much for your recommendations!
Cheers

>When I press detach button (or detach icon on taskbar) it shows red light without anything popping up on the screen. After few seconds the light is off. This has happened even after restart. I don't have any special apps running on startup.

>My usage: I use Edge extensively. I use WSL 2 very often. Can WSLg update have done anything here? (Just speculating). I don't use any special GPU apps.
I am unable to detach the screen in Surface Book 2 most of the times. Let me know if anyone has any solution for this. Please upvote the feedback if you are facing the same.
Hello, I have a surface book 2 that I need to project to the external monitor. I am planning to use this microsoft surface dock.
However, I want to keep the computer charged at the same time. However, The cable will be in direct interference to the usb-c port when plugged in and charging. Image here
In this case, how would I go about charging the surface book while projecting?
I have the surface book 2 dGPU model.
Thanks!
I've had an ongoing love/hate relationship with the Surface hub. Mostly hate as it always seems to have issues with connecting 2 monitors - none of them 4K. Just run-of-the-mill work screens. I thought by upgrading to the Surface dock 2 it would solve all my problems. Silly me...
Initially none of the HDMI to USB-C cable would work and after some digging, the Hub needs 'active' cables'. Would have been nice of MS to mention that anywhere. I am on my 3rd set of cables and one is connected into the hub and the other one connected directly in the Surface in order for both screen to work. And yes, I have done all the troubleshooting and update steps MS recommends.
I also updated to Win 11 Beta, hoping it would make a difference. It doesn't.
Anyone has success with a particular HDMI to USB-C cable with a Surface Hub connected to 2 screens. Much appreciated if you could share.
Is there actually a HUB that uses Surface Connect which is not from Microsoft? Or would it be a drawback when using a Microsoft Connect to USB C 3.2 or 4 cable and connect to a HUB?
