A list of puns related to "Super Punch Out!!"
Super punch out is finally on the switch SNES online just as NL as hoped. 31 year old boomer is about to enter the boxing ring.
So I was wondering if anyone knew the story/reasoning behind the late Japanese release of Super Punch-Out on the Super Famicom, or if anyone had any conjecture.
A bit of history, Super Punch-Out was the fourth game in the Punch Out series. The first two games in the series, Punch-Out and Super Punch-Out were arcade releases. They both received Japanese releases prior to their western release, and both were well received. The third game, Mike Tyson's Punch-Out, was released pretty much simultaneously in the US, Japan, and Europe. It got great reviews on its release, is often listed as one of the system's best games, and got released as Punch-Out in the west after the licensing agreement with Tyson ran out.
Super Punch-Out was released in North America in late 1994, with a European release a few months after. It was released to rave reviews, and even the few reviews that were a bit negative still rated it high and admitted it was a fun game.
Despite being a legacy franchise, being well made, and getting good reviews in the west the game wasn't released in Japan until 1998 when it was released for the Nintendo Power cartridge. It seems odd that Nintendo held off on releasing what, by all indications, should have been a strong title in Japan, and continued to wait almost four years even after it performed well in the west.
I say Super Punch Out!! because titles in the series have alternated between Punch Out!! and Super Punch Out!!, and it's Super Punch Out!!'s turn for a name next. They probably won't work on another Luigi's Mansion for a few years.
If they do make another game, I hope there's more of a 50/50 split between new and returning characters. The Wii game was great, but the only new fighters were Disco Kid and DK. Give Pizza Pasta another appearance!
While i havent attempted it, is it possible to complete Super Punch Out without KO punching once? I feel like it could be challenging in some fights, but would any fights completly stop you from beating it, like timing you out?
In the intro for Title Defence Super Macho Man, we witness Little Mac inadvertently taking away the "release the bogus" man's fame, fangirls and deals, much to Super Macho Man's fury. It appears therefore that a rising star in the World Video Boxing Association will instantly take the spotlight from the old guard. But that begs the question: Super Macho Man was previously beaten by Mr. Sandman, losing the world championship in the process. How comes he did not lose the spotlight to the new champion, yet did when he lost to Mac?
The cutscene for Title Defence Super Macho Man is a good starting point to explain why. Notably, Mac is overwhelmed by the fame, women and offers being made to him. You have got to give credit to the man, he cares so much about being the best that everything else is quite the distraction for him. Thing is, despite the differences in size and attitudes, Mr. Sandman is exactly the same in this regard. He cares not about fame, money or women, he cares about winning the title, leaving a trail of destruction behind as proven in his original introduction. So, neither man was particularly concerned about their new found fame and fortune, finding these perks to be mere distractions for their ultimate goal. Still, it does not mean that they completely rejected the coverage, right?
Well, not quite. I theorise that the only reason Little Mac did not lose the spotlight he gained from Super Macho Man was because he had the experienced Doc Louis managing him. Say what you will about the chocolate-eating, bike-riding man, he is a former heavyweight champion, who understands the fame and fortune that comes when being champion first-hand. He can help manage the fame that is at first overwhelming Mac, including by blocking the fangirls from reaching their new guy in Title Defence Super Macho Man's cutscene. After a while, Mac probably coped with the pressure of fame and was still approachable for the most part, including having a section of a boxing museum dedicated to him after he retired.
However, Mr. Sandman did not have manager that could assist with keeping the new, rather unwanted attention under control. Like Mac, he probably got overwhelmed at first. However, unlike Mac, he did not keep the spotlight he took from Super Macho Man for long. Why? Because no one dared approach him after a while, due to his clear anger issues. Remember, after losing to Mac, we see in Title Defence Mr. Sandman's introduction that Sandman became so furious, he co

Hey all, just wanted to pop in and share a video that just went live on my youtube channel about the often overlooked super punch out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_FwyJj52Rg
check out the vid if you want but i was more interested in getting feedback from everyone with why they think this game isn't remember as well as it should be.
Hi guys, this might be a dumb question but I noticed something just now. Why are there some carts for Super Punch Out that don't have the E ESRB rating on the cart itself, while others do have the rating? Are both versions legit copies of the game? Please let me know. I'm doing a trade, and want to make sure it's legit.
