A list of puns related to "Storyboard Artist"
I know it varies, but if anyone has numbers for general yearly salaries of storyboard artists and/or if they know they can live comfortably on those wages (in loose terms of course) that would be much appreciated! When I look online I seem to find pretty inconsistent reports. Also vis dev artists?
2D animator from Europe here. I spent the past few years persuing freelance handdrawn animation and finally got a job for a small US production.
I got instructed to clean up the storyboard drawings and use them as keyframes, making me pretty much an inbetween animator. All I did was fill in the gaps and make sure that everything is on model. Even when doing roughs only I had to stick to the storyboard drawings which mapped out the entire shot.
Is this just how the US industry works or was I unlucky?
Hi there! Iβm new to storyboarding (Iβm taking the class now for the next 3 semesters of my school) and I was wondering if anyone here had any useful tips I should know before starting / for going into the industry, etc. Any tips are super appreciated :) have a lovely day!
Hi guys, I'm in need of some advice here, i'll go through my current situation. I'm a 20 year old animation student based in Brazil, im currently studying at a Brazilian Animation School (good one and not that expensive im my opinion), i was also lucky enough to get a opportunity to work remotely in a featured film , we are just about to wrap up with the final animatics now so i think things are looking up overall.
Now to the main point, Everything started when i noticed that there would be a SCAD general informartion session happening in SΓ£o Paulo on the 30th of october, next thing you know i decided to travel and participate bringing my portifolio with me, i was the first to get there so i got to talk with the advisors for a good while (first time i saw a american dude in real life lmao) they looked through my portifolio and i got good reactions and feedback from the almni students that were invited, the dude responsible said i was qualified to schoolarships with what i had, now i knew scad was famous for handing schoolarships like water but im confident i can shave-off a lot of the total value by taking all the schoolarships/aid i can and being very crafty in general, still, i would need to take on some good debt and hope i keep getting work, which is scary.
To my main questions to yall that are more experienced. Is college really the only way for Internationals like me to break in to that heart of the industry? If yes, what would be a reasonable amount of debt to be paying as a Storyboard Artist coming up? If not, what would be other more financially safe options to find work outside?
I just wanna make a good and well informed decision
So I've spent the past few years learning about storytelling and screenwriting, software, format and all that jazz, all in hopes of one day making cartoons. I've got a little something I think would make for a nice 2 minute short and I'm thinking of hiring a storyboard artist to maybe cook up an animatic to get things moving.
I'm wondering what does an industry storyboard artist receive before they get to work? Are these A/V scripts common in animation or Is it just a standard screenplay?
If A/V scripts are common, templates I've seen range from like very detailed to not very detailed at all. What the standard?

β¦ for sci-fi story. Something simple. Think robots vs humans.
I've gotten a job through Mandy and otherwise have applied to storyboard positions for TV animation, but I'm wondering if there's a resource for finding storyboard work that I'm just not using.
Are agencies the best way to go for getting solid storyboarding work (ex: Famous Frames & Storyboards Inc.)? Or are there more good routes?

Looking for a Storyboard Artist with experience in anime-style illustrations. They will be responsible for storyboarding 1 fully written pilot episode.
The ideal artist is someone who is imaginative and creative with poses, camera angles and can interpret the script in stylish and unique ways to give the animators something fun to work with.
We're hoping to keep the style as consistent as possible. Here's a link to a clip of the episode being worked on to give a better idea of what we're doing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ya2BeTI9cPw
The selected Artist will be paid $1,500 for the storyboards.
Good Afternoon,
My company is looking for a storyboard artist to work on a short-term project. We are generating two 10-minute videos for YouTube to be a mixture of 2D animation and live footage, and possibly some 3D generated animation as well; think Documentary style.
We need an artist to take the provided script and generate the vision for the content, to be passed on to the production team to bring it to life.
The storyboarding doesnβt need to be overly complicated, but it does need to convey an active story; YouTube content is generally fast paced and engaging. Most importantly, we need our viewers to watch until the END, so crafting the story in such a way that the payoff is not reached until the final 90% of the video is a must.
Deliverable: Storyboard x2
Payout: $250 per storyboard

Hi, everyone,
I'm looking for an artist to create a promotional poster, as well as some ROUGH storyboard sketches, for an animated project I'm preparing to pitch.
For this reason, artists with experience/interest in animation are preferred.
The storyboard panels, and a rough concept for the poster, have already been drawn up for you to work with, but I'm definitely NOT an artist. They're more just to communicate the kind of images I want, and to make your job a little easier.
This is a PAID opportunity, with a legal agreement to be signed beforehand. The caveat is that I'm looking for someone who can work quickly to meet a Wednesday deadline.
With that said, the promotional poster is the main priority, and if both aren't possible, I'll be happy with just the poster. If you're interested, please comment/email your rates and portfolio.
My email is:
Thank you :)
DETAILS;
- Wednesday, 9:00 PM deadline (AEDT).
- Budget: Up to $5,000 AUD.
- Manga/anime art style.
- Potentially commercial project.
- 57 rough storyboard sketches (equivalent of 57 panels). 2.35 aspect ratio.
- Promotional poster. Colour. 2025x3000.
- Artists must be 18 or older.
Hey!
I am looking to connect with an illustrator on a new short film project.
The project is now in pre-production and we are looking to create a clear and creative storyboard.
The director has already drawn a very primitive storyboard, but is keen to develop this with a more finalised product. He is open to collaborating and creating new ideas for different shots.
The shots are more creative and abstract than their previous work.
This project is self funded, and therefore I can sadly only offer expenses if necessary. However, this hasn't prevented me from building a strong film crew. I have a talented group of filmmakers attached, with professionals contributing their time for free. Nevertheless, I can provide a film credit and a copy of the film for portfolio purposes.
Let me know if there are any questions!

I'm curious what's the average number of boards you need to do each day? How long does each board take you?
Hello! I'm working on a pilot episode for an animated series set in the world of pro wrestling. I have hired a few artists for the show right from this board and it has worked out great, including the storyboard artist who did 80% of the show! I'm crossing my fingers for some more success!
It is a 30 minute show and there's about 4 and a half minutes of the show left to board (the climax in act 3), as well as some outstanding revisions for some in progress scenes that need to be done as well. There's rough layout and/or video reference for everything that needs to be done, and has been a very collaborative process so far.
It is A LOT of work and right now the project is self-funded and I have $250-500 for this for the time being as we look for some more funding. Might be a good gig for someone who wants some more storyboard work to put into their reel/portfolio. I can provide clips (and upon hiring, the whole animatic) to give you an idea of the scope of the work.
I would like to get everything done within the next month. If you are interested, please send me any portfolio or work sample, your regular rates, and your availability! If you have any questions, please let me know, Thanks!
