A list of puns related to "Stopping Distance"
Fortunately, she was just calculating velocity.
...my mind raced with punchlines of the βabout this farβ variety. I tried a few on for size.
Then I realized he was looking distraught and realized I was potentially stomping on his blooming dad-joke career. So I stopped and said: βI donβt know son, how far?β
He still looked confused, and then I realized that he for real thought a βstudβ was a measure of distance and this was a legit question. So I had to transition into google searching images of wall framing and what studs are. What a roller coaster of dad emotions.
Got my wife with two the other day when we were grocery shopping.
She goes to get a ginger root from the produce section, and I yell at her
STOP!!
"...what?" she asks
I answer "You are doing it wrong, you have to pick it up carefully"
And i proceed to very slowly lift one ginger root out of the pile, being extra careful to support it.
"...what are you doing?" My wife is now very confused.
"You have to lift it......gingerly".
She hits me.
Not five minutes later, we are getting celery.
"I think this one looks familiar" I say
"What?" again, she falls into my trap
"Yeah....this one has been following me around, creepily, from a distance. It's a Celery Stalk(er)."
She hit me again.
A stop sign appears in the distance, but a little bit before the stop sign is a yellow sign indicating a Deaf Child lives on that street.
Being the good son I am, I indicate to my father: Dad, a deaf child lives nearby, so slow down.
caps indicates shouting
Dad: WHAT
Me:...a deaf child lives nearby, slow down...
Dad: WHAT
I look to my brother in the back seat, and he shrugs. I look forward and try to forget what just happened.
My dad bursts out laughing: I can't believe you fell for that twice! That's HILARIOUS!
My wife and I were at the supermarket, when she looks at the list and announces "Oh, we need some juice concentrate."
I of course respond instantly by staring intently in the distance and stop walking.
She walks a few paces then looks at me confused. "Why did you stop walking?"
"You said we need concentrate."
"I know but..." then there's a long pause as she finally gets the joke. She responds by glaring at me and slapping the crap out of my shoulder.
Baby thought it was funny at least.
