So what is the other variant that is spreading so rapidly if all the cases are not omicron?

First ever status Indian lawyer in Canada?

hey all, just curious if anyone knew anything about the first Indigenous lawyers in canada, ive gotten myself in a bit of a wormhole doing research for a school paper and am looking about compulsory enfranchisement (so like there was no such thing as an Indian lawyer because you had to give up your status to go to law school or medical school or any higher education, there were no higher educated indians lol) but yeah all the stuff ive found is how compulsory enfranchisement was in the Indian Act until 1961

The first google result says Delia Opekokew who graduated law school from osgoode in 1977 but the more i looked i saw that really she was the first First Nations lawyer to be admitted to the bar association in Ontario and in Saskatchewan so its more specific, not the first First Nations lawyer in general

then i read William Wuttunee graduated from University of Saskatchewan's law school in 1954? Im assuming he would have had to give up his status but it says online he was the first status lawyer in canada??

so im just confused but id like to know the answer if anyone has any info!!
