A list of puns related to "St. George's Roman Catholic School"
I had asked a similar question before in the Anglican sub-Reddit and now Iβm curious what common threads the Episcopal and Roman Catholic Churches have in terms of Worship and Mass service?
Are their churches that place emphasis on βAnglo-Catholicismβ or their roots in the RCC who are live-streaming?
On an unrelated note, in addition to St. Thomasβs Choral Evensong service, what are some other churches that have an excellent evensong service who are live-streaming that I should look into?
I do not believe that Roman teachings are incorrect- they just are not my own tradition. Theologically, many of the reasons I only want to talk about God and love the Faith are for reasons that Roman teaching often takes an opposite position on or takes a position that would not have drawn me to Christ. I really want my students to love Christ and I best can do that from my own theological leanings. The Syriac way of understanding God doesnβt work in a constant desire for things to be βsystematized.β
I would just like any advice, direction, or even random thoughts in relation to this!
Fathers, besides Bishop Parkes, who are other priests/monks/friars/bishops who are at least 6'7" tall? I posted this on Quora, and got some poor remarks...maybe any of the priests on this Reddit can help me out...
It is about time we start putting some structure to the categories of thinkers we are going to consider in this time period. This is still the portion of Western Philosophy with which I am least familiar, and what I have to offer here will not be as valuable as perhaps some of the other sections have been and will be. But I want to keep pushing through. If not for anything else, it has given me the opportunity to finally read some passages and authors who have stood neglected on my list for far too long, and to read others again more carefully.
Broadly speaking, I think it might prove profitable to divide into two camps the authors we are going to consider. We will divide them based on the type of project in which they are engaged. The BEST of these authors transcend the boundary between these two camps and give a little of the side opposite the one they most inhabit; but I believe that most of them can be easily enough camped into one of the following two groups:
If the purpose of a writer is to "create an experience with the divine" in their readers, they are writing a mystical text. If the purpose of a writer is to clarify the concepts surrounding our notions of the divine, they are primarily engaged in a philosophical project.
Because they are both "writers" they are both playing with language and so members of either camp will feel that THEY are the ultimate arbiters of the values of the works of the others. This is not the case, however.
The truth is, just as we have seen "two sets of vocabulary--two languages" in our examination of the history of western thought... so there are two different domains over which two different legal structures preside. The best thinkers are the ones who find a way to translate meaning across the borders of these two magisteria.
The language rules of the philosophical theologians are the ones which govern all philosophy:
The language rules of the mystics are more akin to the "mythopoetic pre-Homeric" types we discussed in parts 1 and 2 who have a game which precedes and predates that of the philosophers and in which the philosopher's game is couched.
We, of course, are not here to pick sides. The ultimate goal, for us, is to understand both camps, even as

So, recently, I came out as trans and lesbian. I grew up in a school that teaches roman catholicism with 8 other kids in my class. I was kind of scared to come out to them, as I had no idea how to react.
The first person I told was one of my old friends who I had already known was gay. His reaction was literally just "You were either Gay or Trans, just didn't know which one", which gave me a good laugh
The other good friend I had just said "Ay that's cool". He never was big on words anyways.
Then it was time to come out to the girls. Before I came out, my class had 3 males (including me at the time) and 6 females (2 males 7 females now). I wasn't entirely close with all of them, so I didn't know what to expect.
After coming out, I got full support from everyone. One of the girls told me that she had also recently come out as bisexual. Another had told me she was a lesbian (Which I kinda already figured, she was always talking about how she didn't like boys). Across the board, I got full support. It felt so good.
Don't know if this is too much to read or doesn't matter or anything (some people have tried to tell me it doesn't), but it just made me feel really good to know all of them support me, despite what we were taught in school.
