A list of puns related to "St George's, University Of London"
Hi, Iβve received an invite to interview for medicine at SGUL but Iβm pretty nervous about the format of the interview because instead of having someone interviewing me, I have to just record myself answering questions which I really, really donβt like. Does anyone know what kind of questions they ask and how to get used to just answering questions in front of a camera?
Hey :)
I'm a student from Canada who has heard about the University of London. I know UK unis are all equivalent for med school, but I've been heard to stay away from applying (and applying to other programs like KCL and Barts.
I thought the University of London name and location would make it a more competitive school; is there any negative qualities and/or reasons why someone would attend Barts/KCL/Edinburgh etc vs the St. Georges?
Thanks and apologies if this question breaks any rules π
SGUL sent me an offer and told me to get back to them by August 6th. They said they'd get back to me on August 10th with the next steps. So I emailed them back and cc'd whoever I was supposed to cc. Should I have heard anything from UCAS about this? UCAS Track still says that my application was unsuccessful. Is there any way to confirm that they got my email, or should I call them tomorrow morning?
Also, is there an accepted students page or something?
Hi guys!
I am an international student and am deciding between SGUL and Newcastle for medicine. Which university would place me in a more competitive light? I believe Newcastle is a Russell Group hence receive much more funding for research compared to SGUL, but I don't know if this will increase my exposure to research. Though, while SGUL is not a Russell Group, I feel that being in London next to many research institutions could provide lots of opportunities? Am I just speculating?
Additionally, is the new curriculum for Newcastle medicine good? I have heard that the placements have not been helpful due to a lack of rotations! I really need help because as an international student, I am not familiar with their prestige or reputations in England!
I have also heard Newcastle has a crazy party night life, but I am not really into partying. Would I still be able to fit in?
Do you guys have any clue as to whatβs going on with regards to offers at St. Georgeβs. Apparently offers are being sent out from tomorrow. Is this true? Any information regarding medicine at SGUL will be highly appreciated. Has anyone already got an offer?
I'm doing biomed and know no one or what's happenign D :
This school is offering a 4 year MBBS (british equiv. to MD), with 2 years in Cyprus, 2 years back in the US. The program offers extra help for USMLE, reasonable tuition and very normal attrition rate. All of this with the well established SGUL degree in the end.
We know all IMGs have a tough time matching, but, is there any other reasons to be concerned?
The Victoria College at the University of Toronto (St. George) has a unique first-year program called VicOne: Education Stream. It allows you to take two full-year courses on education while doing a 50-hour teaching practicum/placement in a classroom. Only 25 students are in this program and we don't get as much popularity (the application deadline for my particular program had to be extended).
It's not the same as the concurrent BEd programs (i.e. no guaranteed spot at OISE). But it's a great opportunity to help you decide whether teaching is right for you while being in a small classroom.
I'm a first-year Victoria College student in the VicOne Education program right now and doing my placement at a school in person. Feel free to ask me anything about the program! (or about how UofT is as a first-year student)
