A list of puns related to "Sports Illustrated For Women"
The title might be a little clunky, but hear me outβ¦ yay for homegirl and all (Iβm gonna respect pronouns, here) but is it not a little curious to anyone else that they pick now to include transwomen? I honestly donβt follow the SI swimsuit issues, (or any other issues for that matter) but I donβt recall them having someone like a Kate Upton sharing the spotlight with someone like a Caitlin Jenner.
Donβt Black women already have enough to deal with wrt their media representation without the added negative optics of being grouped with biological maleness? I get that this is progressive, and a place that we wouldβve eventually come to, either way, but itβs just odd to me, and it honestly seems unfair to Black women imo, that they would do it this way. Idk, maybe itβs my imaginationβ¦

I recently met a woman at the laundromat and we started talking about comics/graphic novels and she was asking for recommendations of comics that were written and/or illustrated by women, or about women without being in the Superhero genre. I thought of Strangers in Paradise and Elf Quest. Kelly Thompson came to mind as a writer but I've only read her marvel work so I don't know if she has stuff in other genres. Anyone have recommendations? I didn't see this in the sub's list of recommendations so hopefully it's ok to ask.
I think we all have thought about the possibility of Kazuchika Okada wrestling, perhaps, the two biggest stars in American independent wrestling history. Perhaps the most influential independent wrestlers in WWE history and now the two biggest names in AEW (feel free to debate, but even TK has said this).
Okada himself wants to see that happen:
βDanielson and Punk would make for some incredible matches,β Okada says. βA lot of those dream match scenarios are about getting excited for the possibilities, and once the match is done, itβs done. So it is important to keep that excitement and anticipation, I think. Still, if we wait too long, theyβll both retire eventually, so I want to face them both while theyβre still active.β

UPDATE: Thanks everyone! Looking forward to doing this again soon.
I just launched a new soccer podcast βThrowbackβ that traces the β99 Womenβs World Cup victory back to the origins of the U.S. womenβs national team and the first Womenβs World Cup in 1991. The podcast features interviews with former USWNT superstars like Mia Hamm, former coach Anson Dorrance and even ex-FIFA President Sepp Blatter.
Listen to the first three episodes!

I profiled a bunch of soccer superstars in every key position for my latest book, you can now snag the paperback version of it: Masters of Modern Soccer: How the World's Best Play the Twenty-First-Century Game.
And I've been working a ton on a video series called Exploring Planet Futbol which explores the world's relationship with the game of soccer, from many of the places where the game thrives.
I'll be on at 11am ET β Looking forward to this!
