A list of puns related to "Speed Ballads"
I saw this on /r/weezer with Undone. If you take some of their lower tempo songs on youtube and speed them up to 1.5 (he suggested 2.0 but I think that distorts the voices too much) it actually creates a really cool new, almost Dude Ranch, feel to the song (and makes the music videos comical). A few songs I tried it on where I thought it worked really well were Down, Adam's Song, I Miss You, and Stay Together for the Kids
I really like the sound of Down, if you try it out and find any songs that it works really well on let me know! For those who don't know you click the gear at the bottom right of the video and click speed and set it to 1.5.
EDIT: Just tried it with All of This and it makes me enjoy the song so much more.
EDIT 2: Forgot some people use a phone app, this can only be done from a computer.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
As the title says. Sometimes I just want to mindlessly press E and grind out things.
Iβm relatively new to the game so still unlocking things but was wondering if there is some build out there that is powerful, wins fights quickly and all I have to do is press E to win? :)
This is for Siralim Ultimate btw.
Thanks in advance!
(Hey before we get started I'd like to thank everyone who was so kind in their responses to my first post on NBC's 1991 line-up. This one I thought was going to be a simple story of a mockbuster but hoo-boy did I find a rabbit hole. Enjoy!)
With their use of rotoscope animation, painted backgrounds, and let's face it herky-jerky character movement, Filmation made cartoons that were instantly recognizable to Gen X-ers and older Millennials. The studio first made a name for itself in the 1960s with hit programs like βThe New Adventures of Superman'' and βThe Archie Show.β Over the course of the 70s the studio would continue to keep going with such shows as βStar Trek: The Animated Series,β βFat Albert & The Cosby Kids,β and βThe New Adventures of Flash Gordon.β They would also experiment in live action programming such as 1974's βShazam!β adaptation. During this time they would also produce theatrical movies 1974's βTreasure Island'' and 1974's βOliver Twist.β
However Filmation's greatest success came in the early 1980s with βHe-Man & The Masters of the Universe.β The show would run for 130 episodes which was twice the run of a typical syndicated cartoon from that time. Furthermore He-Man was a cultural phenomenon well beyond the toys and cartoons. The show would inspire comic books, a live stage tour a live stage tour, a girl-centric spin-off βShe-Ra,β a theatrical animated movie βSecret of the Sword,β and even a 1987 live-action film starring Dolph Lundgren and Frank Langella. (A film whose rather troubled production could feed another thread...)
Yet seemingly at the peak of their power Filmation would begin a sudden and inescapable decline. One that perhaps wouldn't have happened without a suspiciously familiar puppet's pseudo-sequel. But before we talk about that we have to discuss Filmation and Mattel's failed follow-up to He-Man. βShe-Ra: The Princess of Power '' was never quite the franchise player her brother was in ratings or toy sales but still managed to run a respectable 93 episodes (again remember most syndicated shows ran for 65 episodes.) Filmation's Ghost Busters was such a failure I may have to make an entire thread about it alone. However it was a one-two punch for Filmation's downfall. Strangely enough both flops are tied to Chr

So it's a week later. We haven't had the chance to do Savage yet to really get into the nitty gritty but I feel like a good amount of people on here have chipped their teeth on EX trials already. Personally, I feel like there's a lot of work that could have been done to the jobs, even in line with their intent of removing jank or difficulties on jobs.
Note for the sake of discussion I'd like to talk about realistic, small changes you feel they should have done. Not deleting a job or adding in entire buttons or gauges.
I mainly play casters, ranged, and healers. I dabble with melee and tanks here and there. Mainly gonna talk about casters from my PoV with some ranged mixed in.
BLM: I actually quite like it as is. I think there's still quite a ceiling to playing perfectly even if the gap of performance between the floor and ceiling isn't so high anymore. I will say two things: it's a bit button bloated now (if you keep AoE buttons around), and Foul feels relatively awful with its current numbers.
In terms of button bloat, I think they could consolidate a few things: F4 and B4 should be an "Enochian" button, that auto changes into one or the other per your element, and I think Leylines should auto turn into the warp to Leylines skill instead of a separate button. Again, you literally can't use it without its stipulation anyway. Currently I have two full bars and 5 extra buttons of meaningful buttons, which is a bit more than I think is comfortable. YMMV.
Foul just feels awful. I get it, BLM isn't entitled to being the best dungeon job every expansion (even though it's usually quite good) but what once bombed down the group has been relegated to a rotation potency neutral weaving tool basically. I'd bring the AoE scaling down to 40% instead of 60% personally.
SMN: Again I quite like it, even if it is pretty simple when nothing conflicts with Ifrit. Personally I'd like it if they stopped with the Egi action nonsense and made Searing Light (the 3% group buff) and the 20% shield untied to the egi, or at least, not have it locked out so often. I realize it's one of the few critical thinking components of the job but it's a bit janky as is.
Hot take but I'd probably add cast times to Titan somewhere. Maybe instead of 4 insta-casts it's 2 RDM dual-cast style attacks into a weave. It's just too simple currently.
RDM: Not to be a broken record but again ... pretty nice as it is. I think Acceleration could use a little changing, possibly adding potency or

Howdy! Welcome to the final day of the r/indieheads Album of the Year 2021 Write-Up Series, our annual event where we showcase pieces from some of our favorite writers on the subreddit talking about their favorite records of the year! Today, we have u/American_Soviet on Injury Reserve's By the Time I Get to Phoenix!
September 15th, 2021 - self-released

Background by u/American_Soviet:
Injury Reserve is a Phoenix, AZ hip-hop group, consisting of MC Nathaniel Ritchie (Ritchie With a T,) producer Parker Corey and, previously, MC Jordan βStepaβ Groggs. Formed in the early 2010s, the group immediately established a cult following online with a series of mixtapes and EPs (Live From the Dentist Office, 2015; Floss, 2016; and Drive It Like Itβs Stolen, 2017) showcasing their highly energetic & bombastic style. This era of the trio culminated in 2019 with their acclaimed self-titled debut album on the Loma Vista record label.
In June 2020, Groggs suddenly passed away. The details of his death were never released, and although online fan speculation is easy to find, I do not see it as my place to voice those rumors here. Contrary to popular belief, the vast majority of By the Time I Get to Phoenix was already completed by the time of Groggsβ passing, and the surviving members of Injury Reserve saw to his wish of having the group βrelease some weird shit.β
Loma Vista refused to release the album and released the group from their remaining contract. Injury Reserve self-released By the Time I Get to Phoenix on September 15, 2021, and instantly garnered widespread critical & fan acclaim. As of now, the future of the group is unknown.
In the liner notes, the duo wrote about Groggs: βTyping here feels small in the space of your real physical absence but you, your voice and your words continue to echo around us all thru these recordings and so many others and everything else. Thank you for your time, we love and miss you, of course of course.β

User information/backstory:
Ashling Noma was a mechanical engineer attending grad school for a PhD in robotics. Naturally gifted in a plethora of subjects and skills, he had been tinkering since he could hold a screwdriver and wanted nothing more in life than to invent: to create. Visualizing complex mechanisms and doing complex math in his head was simple, and his perfect memory ensured it stayed that way. Despite this, he had a major setback: his thesis. He was unsure of what to put forth, and had scrapped several concepts already. His first success was a creation of his teen years: the "Jelly Doughnut Juicer", which revolutionized food production by creating a high calorie drink for doughnut producers, but that level of inspiration was in the past. His ideas were scattered, unfocused, and he had no clear path he wanted to follow. While not around the corner, the time constraints loomed over the horizon, and he was no closer than when he had began brainstorming months ago. Though, this weekend would be it; he had set aside the entire time from Friday to Sunday to remedy this problem, and he would not sleep until he was at least on track. He downed a 56 hour energy to prep for the task...and immediately passed out. His face slammed into the desk with a thunk, and a surreal dream began.
He awoke in a different room surrounded by assembly lines. Everything seemed so real, yet he didn't feel like he was really there. It was like he was a disembodied sense of vision free from the world. He explored, noticing the products being produced in this factory. They were mechanical components, seemingly for some sort of arm. They were unlike a

BLACK HOLE is not on that same Spotify playlist Sayonakidori also isnβt, so I heard it for the first time at the end of my run through Unseen World. And so did mostly everyone else who got to experience it, I believe. Which is a good thing, because this song needs the context.
In its most available version, Unseen World starts with a very modern read of a Purcell-like chamber music piece, with a very haunting interplay of three different melodies by plucked and bowed violins, and a glockenspiel, woven into each other and punctuated by timpani and distant cymbal crashes, all of which very loosely support a tension-building tuba thatβs constantly descending in pitch to the point where the song seems to start just because the tuba canβt get any lower. Some sort of unnatural noise fades in from nowhere then takes over...
That is the opening of this absolute contemporary masterpiece of an album. An album that is hopeful and positive but also filled with all the anger and frustration of a tightly knitted group of people who used to be with each other 300 out the 365 days of the year. And BLACK HOLE is its the closing argument. When I talked about Sayonakidori I said it was βthe romantic love poem ballad 2021 deservesβ. Well, BLACK HOLE is this yearβs theme song!
It almost got called βCHAOSβ and it is often described by fans as βcontrolled chaosβ, but to me this tune is more akin to turbulence - chaos in motion. Kanami, taking hints from Dadaism and Futurism, wrote an impossible song that feels almost like a Force of Nature. All its interacting moving parts feel uncontrollably powerful and unpredictable, almost unquantifiable. And yet, thereβs a point to it. It is chaotic, for sure, but it also flows very deliberately in a certain direction.
A black hole is a real thing. It is an infinitesimal point in space with infinite density (i.e. super small, super heavy), which makes it a hard thing to describe or measure and an impossible thing to escape from ([Hawking radiation](ht

"Time is our greatest obsession." -- Caius Ballad
The way time works in FFRK is sometimes confusing. But it doesn't have to be! The goal of this series is to make time easy to understand.
Improved Wait Mode, released just this week, has generated a ton of excitement -- and for good reason! It revitalizes gameplay for so many of us. It's also brought a few old misconceptions to light. So we'll start out with the basics. Then we'll look at the impact of Battle Speed in general, including how Wait Mode and Active Mode change things.
Ticks are the basic unit of time in FFRK. They are actually very easy to work with. For one thing, ticks can't be split up. You never have to worry about handling "half a tick."
FFRK shows us ticks in the form of the battle timer. Let's look at a simple example. Here are some battle timer displays for Battle Speed 3:
Battle Timer | Ticks into Battle (Speed 3) |
---|---|
0:00.00 | Start of battle |
0:00.10 | 1 tick into battle |
0:00.20 | 2 ticks into battle |
0:00.70 | 7 ticks into battle |
0:02.00 | 20 ticks into battle |
0:07.50 | 75 ticks into battle |
As you can see, on Battle Speed 3, 1 tick takes up 0.10 seconds on the battle timer. Ticks can't be divided, so the battle timer will never display something like 0.15 in this case -- it goes straight from 0.10 to 0.20.
Does this measure Real Time?
Nope! When nothing is going on, ticks pass one by one at a fairly fast pace. But the timer always pauses while an action or effect is happening, so it's never going to line up with real time.
"Look always to the eternal flow of time which is far greater than the span of human life." -- Bugenhagen
That's right! Most durations in FFRK are measured in seconds (of game time). Game time is also measured in seconds, but it advances via tick-sized chunks, so the game effectively translates between ticks and times in seconds. For example, Chain Firaja has a cast time of 1.80 seconds. On Battle Speed 3, this will translate to 18 ticks. So it will take 18 ticks (= 1.80 seconds) for the CT bar to fill up.
Things don't always line up perfectly. Raging Quadstrike has a cast time of 1.65 seconds, so what do we do? In most cases, ticks will round up. So on Battle Speed 3, this will translate to 17 ticks. So it will take 17 ticks (= 1.70 seconds) for the CT bar to fill up.
We sometimes call this a "discretizati

I am looking for songs that feature both of this in one duration.
For example are there compositions where the entire piece alternatives between slowing and speeding to create a certain effect?
I guess alternating in ritardando and accelerando (I donβt know if this is the correct term and i am open to hearing to stuff similar to what i am describing).

A. Introduction
After more than a year of hesitation and indecision, I finally watched "My Mister."
I hesitated watching it because I read that it was a heavy drama; the last thing I needed in these times of COVID lockdowns and variants was a drama that would depress me even more. What started to change my mind was seeing one of the drama's official posters; it showed IU and a guy on a sofa with one guy on the left and another guy on the right. They were all smiling, and I thought, "Why are they smiling? Isn't this supposed to be a heavy drama?"
I found out that the two guys on the left and on the right are Ki-hoon and Sang-hoon, brothers of the ML Dong-hoon; they provide the comedic relief in this drama. (Of course, space cadet Yu-ra and the guys from the Sunday morning soccer club also add to the fun.) "My Mister" would have been so depressing if not for the antics of these characters in the side plots β Yu-ra being happy that Ki-hoon and his friends in the bar are >!all failures!<, Sang-hoon eating Ki-hoon's food despite having the same food prepared by their mother, Ki-hoon wearing >!expensive underwear so he won't be embarrassed when he dies!<, Sang-hoon and Ki-hoon in their mini-van, Sang-hoon setting up the mini-van on dates with good looking cars, etc.
