A list of puns related to "Smithkline Beecham"
I have no issue with people taking the vaccine should they feel the need to. In my opinion, it should be a risk/reward decision for each individual. For those who say, “It’s been deemed safe and effective,” I ask how do you know when the vaccine has only been administered for a year? Before you answer, see below.
Here’s a brief list some vaccines that passed the normal FDA approval process and were later deemed unsafe and removed from market:
Lyme Disease- The vaccine, called LYMERix, was licensed in 1998. By 2002 SmithKline Beecham had withdrawn it from the market. 4 YEARS LATER
Hepatitis B- The vaccine was approved in 1981, and withdrawn from the marketplace in 1986. 5 YEARS LATER
Pertussis- Developed in the 1930s and withdrawn in 1991. 60ish YEARS LATER
Measles- Approved in 1963 and replaced with a safer version with less side effects in 1968. 5 YEARS LATER
And here’s some drugs that were initially passed and later removed (note that they are in alphabetical order and where the list stops):
Accutane (Isotretinoin) Released 1982, Removed June 2009. 27 YEARS LATER
Baycol (Cerivastatin) Released 1998, Removed Aug. 2001. 3 YEARS LATER
Bextra (Valdecoxib) Released Nov. 2001, Removed Apr. 2005. 4 YEARS LATER
Cylert (Pemoline) Released 1975, Removed Oct. 2010. 35 YEARS LATER
Darvon & Darvocet (Propoxyphene) Released 1955, Removed Nov. 2010. 55 YEARS LATER
DBI (Phenformin) Released 1959, Removed Nov. 1978. 19 YEARS LATER
DES (Diethylstibestrol) Released 1940, Removed 1971. 31 YEARS LATER
Ergamisol (Levamisole). Released May 1989, Removed in year 2000. 11 YEARS LATER
Hismanal (Astemizole). Released 1988, Removed Aug. 1999. 11 YEARS LATER
Meridia (Sibutramine) Released Nov. 1997, Removed Oct. 2010. 13 YEARS LATER
Unless someone has a crystal ball, it seems WAAY too early to come to the conclusion that the vaccines are safe and effective.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Do your worst!
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies 😂

Edit: Thank you guys for the awards, they're much nicer than the cardboard sleeve I've been using and reassures me that my jokes aren't stale
Edit 2: I have already been made aware that Men In Black 3 has told a version of this joke before. If the joke is not new to you, please enjoy any of the single origin puns in the comments

A play on words.
Nothing, he was gladiator.
Or would that be too forward thinking?
Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
I hope this post may break some of the claims made by the shorters Grego and Anderson on Monday. As a disclaimer, I do own shares in APH. This document’s information is taken from the official transaction document published by Scynthian on August 13th, 2018 and includes the official valuation reports published by Clarus and Haywood as independent valuators. You can read this document in detail here (it is very interesting in regards to what has happened over the past few days):
The document was dug up by AsianForSale and initially posted here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/weedstocks/comments/a3kjr0/aphria_scythian_to_aphria_latam_deal_explained/
The short report claimed Aphria overpaid for the assets purchased in Latin America. So where did this 180mil valuation come from? In Appendix C, page 27 - within the Haywood Securities official valuation report - the investment bank argues for this sum based on the following:
“On July 5, 2018, Canopy acquired Spectrum Cannabis Colombia S.A.S. (“Spectrum”)”
“We believe that ColCanna, Marigold, and ABP should each be valued at about 30%-40% of Spectrum’s current value of ~C$180,000,000 based on their respective scale and the licenses they have. We also considered the implied amount paid by Scythian at the announcement date for each of the Assets it is acquiring, and then applied a multiplier to reflect the milestones to be subsequently achieved. This analysis (see table below) resulted in a total value of the Assets of ~C$185,000,000.”
Some have argued that these valuations are purely based on documentation provided by Scynthian, but as part of their scope of review Haywood visited each site [Appendix C, page 6) :
"A site visit of each Asset;"
The investment bankers also used other calculations as comparators, which you can see here (Appendix C, page 28):
Bottom line: Haywood paid particular attention to what Canopy paid for 1 business in Colombia (180mil) and then extrapolated that ea

v.
UNITED STATES FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION, Respondent.
In the matter of FDA Blood Donation Guidance and Related Regulations
INTRODUCTION
Petitioner is a membership organization of gay and bisexual men who live in the state of Sierra. Many of Petitioner’s members have sought to donate blood at institutions obligated to follow rules promulgated by the United States Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”). However, all of Petitioner’s members have been rejected in their efforts to donate blood because they are all men who have had sex with other men within the past 12 months, which renders them ineligible to donate blood.
The FDA is charged with the regulation of blood safety in the United States. See, e.g., 21 C.F.R. 640.1 et seq. Historically, it has done so through the promulgation of guidelines pertaining to who should be “deferred” (disallowed) from donating blood. 21 C.F.R. 630.10. Under 21 C.F.R. 630.10, facilities must determine whether a potential donor is “eligible” based on factors which include “Factors that make the donor ineligible to donate because of an increased risk for, or evidence of, a relevant transfusion-transmitted infection.” These factors are informed by FDA “guidance” documents which set forth what the FDA considers to be “behaviors associated with a relevant transfusion-transmitted infection.” However, the FDA’s guidance implementing this regulation has long suffered from anti-gay and anti-bisexual biases which have clouded regulators’ judgment.
Beginning in 1992, the FDA implemented “guidelines” under which any man who had ever had sex with a man was prohibited from donating blood. This “guideline” was based not in science but in the anti-gay panic sparked by the realization that HIV killed not only gay men but heterosexuals as well. (No one cared about HIV when they believed it was only killing gay men.)
In 2015, the FDA announced new guidelines, under which it recommended deferral of any “man who has had sex with another man during the past 12 months” and any “female who has had sex during the past 12 months with a man who has had sex with another man.” Revised Recommendations for Reducing the Risk of Human Immunodeficiency Virus Transmission by Blood and Blood Products, . Though a token step toward ending the stigmatization of gay and bisexual men, this alteration nonetheless continues to contribute to the discrimination gay and bisexual m
