Hi,
A family friend has a check from Smith Barney (Citigroup) from 2003 due to cashing out on a stock plan they had with a US owned company which they were employed by.
The check and further correspondence was sent to their UK address in 2003, when it was put in a safe and forgotten about. Their UK bank has refused the check but said that they would happily cash a more recent version if it could be obtained.
My question is: who do they contact to try and get the check reissued? All the phone numbers on the correspondence from 2003 are dead and it seems Smith Barney was sold to Morgan Stanley after 2008.
They have a Global ID so hopefully it's still on a system somewhere.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated!

Hey, guys! Sorry for the long title, but that's the story.
Barney Smith is 97, lives in San Antonio, loves the Spurs, and creates toilet seat art work for a hobby. His museum is seriously a sight to see if you have never seen it. It is his pride and joy, and many come from across the world to witness this collection.
He has created various pieces for the Spurs to come and sign, however in the many decades that he has ran the museum, they have not come. Sadly, Barney's health is not so well as he has aged, and he will be selling his museum.
What would be the best way to get the Spurs out to see him and sign their seats? I think it would make for a great story as well as it would make Barney's day.
