[Inner Carniola] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inner_Carniola)
Hi folks, this is an open-ended question, which I will elaborate on with sources and images further on. But for now here's the cliffnotes version, I'm curious to hear what you people think.
Given Austria's somewhat successful decentralisation of powers within the empire's territories, what is the rationale behind keeping the entire KΓΌstenland under Austrian's direct domain?
The Istrian peninsula (Southern Littoral/KΓΌstenland) was for many centuries ruled by the Venetians, only fully granted to Austria in 1797 (then again in 1815). As the Southern Austrian Littoral was majority Croatian, why not tie that region to the Kingdom of Illyria?
Indeed the entire Austrian Littorial was once part of an Austrian crownland called the "the Kingdom of Illyria," from 1815 until 1849. At that time Illyria was a majority Slovene and German crownland, but the historical background is there.
Furthermore, due to rising Italian nationalism, the Habsburgs were encouraging a path of Slavicization in the Italian regions of the Adriatic Coast. The natural conclusion of such a thing might be to hand Istria over to Illyria.
Alternatively, due to the peninsula's history with Venice, why not tie it to the Republic of Italy? If I'm not mistake the Republic of Italy is originally under Austria's control. What reason did devs decide to just give the entire Littoral directly over to Austria?
Now for the extended version:
In Kaiserreich, the Austrian Littoral/KΓΌstenland is connected to the Austrian Empire, as one singular territory, from GΓΆrz, all the way down to the Istrian peninsula (with the exclusion of Triest).
I personally think the territory should be split up further, into three states, Triest, GΓΆrz, and the Istrian March. Perhaps something like this: https://imgur.com/R0W1RX2
More specifically I'd like to argue the case for splitting up the Austrian Littoral into it's GΓΆrz and Istria sides.
Firstly it is important to note that for many centuries the South side of the Istrian peninsula was a territory of the Republic of Venice. In fact Austria only gained control over the entire peninsula in the 1797 treaty of Campo Formio, as compensation for losing their Austrian possessions in the Netherlands. The Austrians would then lose the territory again to Napoleon in 1805, before eventually reaffirming their rule in 1815, at the

As things stand, it covers world events from a multiple divergence in the 1860s to the eve of the Great War in the 1900s. Maybe I shall continue it in the future, maybe I shall not. Given its length and complexity, and technical limitations to post size in this sub, the story has to be split in a dozen posts or so.
1861-65: Denmarkβs attempt to integrate the Duchies of Schleswig, Holstein, and Saxe-Lauenburg in the Danish kingdom caused the Second Schleswig War when Austria and Prussia, on behalf of the German Confederation, declared war to Denmark for its violation of the London Protocol. Sweden intervened to support Denmark out of a sense of Nordic solidarity. Even with Swedish help, the Danish army proved to be no match for the Austro-Prussian forces, thanks to the high quality of the Prussian army after its recent reforms. The German allies overwhelmed the Nordic defenses and occupied the Duchies. They conquered all of Jutland, and threatened the Danish islands. Denmark had to beg for peace and cede Schleswig, Holstein, and Saxe-Lauenburg to Austria and Prussia.
The war represented a rare moment of cooperation between the rival powers of Austria and Prussia that were engaged in a struggle for dominant position in Central Europe. Soon after the war, however, the tensions between the two powers heated again and grew worse because of disputes about the administration of the duchies. The root cause of the conflict was a contest between the two powers for leadership of the German people under the growing pressure of German nationalism. All attempts for compromise failed and both powers prepared for war. The Second Schleswig War was a serious setback for the Nordic states and cemented the notion in Scandinavia of the necessity of a conciliatory policy towards the rising German power on the continent. The wartime solidarity and cooperation between the Nordic states, however, gave a substantial boost to the Scandinavian national movement, which grew ever more popular in the following decade.
During the peace negotiations, King Christian IX went behind the back of the Danish government to contact the Prussians, offering that the whole of Denmark could join the German confederation, if Denmark could stay united with Schleswig and Holstein. Prussian Chancellor Bismarck, who feared that the ethnic strife in Schleswig between Danes and Germans would t

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

Dad jokes are supposed to be jokes you can tell a kid and they will understand it and find it funny.
This sub is mostly just NSFW puns now.
If it needs a NSFW tag it's not a dad joke. There should just be a NSFW puns subreddit for that.
Edit* I'm not replying any longer and turning off notifications but to all those that say "no one cares", there sure are a lot of you arguing about it. Maybe I'm wrong but you people don't need to be rude about it. If you really don't care, don't comment.
